Those days are long gone.. 🙁Anybody born after the early 80's will never know the wonder, amazement and hypnotic affect, of sitting on the mainfloor, listening and seeing in person, some of most exceptional artists perform such well written compositions,.. and all that, for just $7.50 😊
The great Chris Squire, gone and not forgotten. Steve Howe is a virtuoso. Rick Wakeman stands with Keith Emerson as the keyboard god of the era. And the enigmatic voice of Jon Anderson. Yes was an anchor point of my musical education. Thank you.
The whole stucture of this song is genius. Steve Howe's acoustic 12 string virtuosity playing perfect, the late Chris Squire with his dominant bass introduction for Howe to deliver the chordal piece and then Jon Anderson. My God, there is nothing like YES. Thank God I grew up with this music and band.
I thank god too. Almost forgot that loving feeling from back when. But it still comes thru. This song and Yes hit me deep back when i was young. You got 16 like all of them over 70 years old/ like me.
No one knows how meaningful Yes was to me as a young teen. They probably saved my life by filling my heart with their music beyond what I thought was possible. It helped me weather setbacks.
We really did have superior music back in the day. The variety... the talent.. the uniqueness.. the artistry. Each group had its signature sound, and YES was soooo true to such distinctiveness. So rich... so different... so gratifying. Jon Anderson's soaring tenor voice is unmatched, yet the guitar work is seductive, as well. 10 minutes of pure heaven... wow.
Oh how I miss the music of the late '60's through the '70's...music today really sucks. The big "stars" of today don't have the talent these guys have in their pinkies. Bands like Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, ABB...now THAT was music...

This song blew my young mind at 13. It encapsulates some of humanities very few saving graces. Creativity , curiosity and of course , love. Anderson reaching out to the cosmos for higher wisdom, then looking back at himself and us for appreciation and reflection.Hope in a future governed by reason over superstition. And in one of music's most serendipitous moments, finds himself in a band filled with the brightest and most talented musicians to score it perfectly.

When i first heard Yes back in my college days i was hooked. I can be taken back to a specific day and time when i hear Yes. So talented. So creative. They made their mark in music history. I can only say thank you.
Well, i think this is the best song I've ever hear, it's marvelous but sweet , with a lot of temp they make a very difficult song , nobody's make a talentous work like YES , simply the perfect song of all time , thank you YES for existing.

One of the best intros ever for a song. Still hold this thought since I was 8 years old listening to the 7 inch on my brother's turntable back in the early 70's.
I was also there in Philadelphia on July 12-13, 1991 during the Yes Fest event at the Sheraton and in the round at the Spectrum. That Friday performance still ranks as one of the best concert experiences I ever witnessed.
Wow I would have loved to see Yes in concert I’m a fan from the 1980s MTV “Owner of a Lonely Heart”and I had a YES record album Fragile it had Runabout and another big hit was “I’ve seen all good people “which got a lot of radio airplay back then around here.
My first concert.YES. New Haven Colosseum. My sister, older took me. I was in fourth grade. 68.1972. Amazing concert. Remember saying to my sister,” What’s that smell?”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ahhhh, To be young again, I think the tickets were Six dollars each. Very sad because everything is so inflated and expensive. Nowadays, you can’t enjoy too much unless they have a lot of money. That’s awful. We had such great music.
Jon Anderson never did better than when he sang this. My man Wakeman on keyboards is what I would have loved to emulate but quickly learned that level of musician is genius and above my dreams. Love this forever❤
Wow, I'm a huge YES fan and never knew all - or most - of past and present YES members played together on one stage. Phenomenal. The only time I saw them was with the Buggles/Yes hybrid in Madison Square Garden, which wasn't terrible as it was still a thrill to see Squire and Howe live. But, would've loved to have seen the line up in this video!
This is a bit of a late reply but I never knew that they all got together or as close together as possible. I was a huge fan of yes growing up in the seventies and decided I didn't like them anymore when the buggles came along because some magazine told me to dislike them. After that life came along kids and everything else and just recently like a year and a half ago rediscovered them. I could kick myself. There's some good music out there like Godsmack and others but there's a whole lot of garbage. These guys were musicians and this will stand the test of time
I saw the Union tour. The stage was round and slowly rotated as the band played. Both incarnations of the band played together and very well. A band with controllable egos is not heard of but they managed to check theirs at the door.
I saw them on the Union tour and it was the best of many, many YES concerts that I have attended. Their performance of Awaken was pure magic and transported me to another dimension (without any mind altering chemicals). No other concert did that before or since.
My college roommate introducted me to Yes in 1973 and I was never the same. Steve Howe inspired me to play guitar. What a collection of talented players.
I remember being preoccupied with marveling at how they were all on the stage together, hoping for as much synergy as possible, and they did a great job. I can't believe it was that long ago, they all look so young, lol. Funny...I'm now Steve's age in this video, lol!
Probably my biggest regret in life... I had a ticket to see Yes in Louisville in 1979 and got the flu the day before the show. Sick as a dog with a fever so I couldn't go. All my friends (and brother) raved about the show and tormented me with their "In The Round" T-Shirts for years. I got the last laugh though when I got to see Wakeman play a 200 seat bar in Abu Dhabi at "The Club" in the mid 2000s. It was great because he joined everyone at the pub afterward (drinking only water) and we talked till the wee hours. Great memory with one of, if not THE greatest keyboard player ever. Regaled us with stories about being uncredited and unpaid by Cat Stevens, buying a racehorse from the royal family, living in a windmill in Holland... a night I'll never forget!! Thanks for the music and the memories and congrats Sir Rick for being named a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire!
Saw this Union event at Wembley, along with other Yes concerts, the best experiences ever. Musically and emotionally unsurpassable. Jon Anderson irreplaceable.
There are so many components to a great Yes song, but one that may get overlooked are the backing vocals. Squire and Howe backbones to Anderson's beautiful angelic voice. Also try to find the lyrics to the backing vocals on this song. So cool.
I remember hearing this for the first time in 1975 on the midnight album hour on WROQ 95.1FM in Charlotte, NC. RIP Chris Squire. I will never forget you brother.
Saw them in Toronto for the first time on this tour. Wow! I'd never been to a big concert before and the stadium was packed. I think Jon waved at me when I waved. Haha! A typical fan. I was young, but to hear them play live and perform the music as good as and often better than the album production told me they were/are one of the greatest bands on Earth.
My very first live concert was seeing Yes in February of 1974 during the “Tales From Topographic Oceans” Tour. Saw them four times after that during the ‘70s. They were such a big part of my life as an adolescent and I’ll always be grateful I grew up in a time when music was transcendent. The musical landscape has suffered the same fate as the natural one during the intervening years.
Cobo Hall - Detroit My friend Chris' older brother had a record collection that would've rivaled any of the FM stations. Thought the albums were terrific, but live.. blew me away. Anytime they were inntown, we were there; $8.50 Mainfloor !
Anderson at his best, surrounded by the finest musicians ever, and still in full command of the stage, with a grace and power that his substitute can only dream of. And I really liked Benoit in the latest Yes studio album, but I just don't think he can walk in Anderson's shoes as a frontman of this mighty band.
This song and I have history. I became a Yes fan at a young age, I am the youngest of 4, my oldest brothers introduced me to Classic Rock in elementary school. My brother Tom bought Yessongs album for my 18th birthday. And you and I quickly became my favorite Yes song. As fate has it, we were listening to that song when our grandfather passed away. We lived in his house, and he was a huge influence on us. I was the baby so we were very close. It was no coincidence that " And you and I " was playing
I saw.them.all the time.in México city... In1999 (palacio de los deportes) this song deserved an standing ovation for several minutes A masterpiece, a privilege
Extraordinarios.

There are so many components to a great Yes song, but one that may get overlooked are the backing vocals. Squire and Howe backbones to Anderson's beautiful angelic voice. Also try to find the lyrics to the backing vocals on this song. So cool.
Some of the most complex music in rock and roll ever written by these guys. Don't you just love it
I so long for a modern artist that can tingle my spine as Yes could. I remember seeing them "in the round". What a memory.
Chris Squire you amazing musician...RIP. miss you so much.
Whew! STEVE HOWE..♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I will never forget the first time I heard this. To see them play this live now leaves me in total astonishment.
I was blessed to see this tour in South Florida! A memory I'll cherish forever!
I love the way Howe still enjoys playing his songs so much! This song is freaking timeless!
A magical musical creation by one of the best bands EVER!!!
This is my favorite " YES" let's all have a " yes" party gathering. Sometimes I feel I'm the only one .
so phenomenal. Basically playing classical music, but no sheets, no conductor, and like 7 dudes instead of more than 30. Pretty impressive.
At Maple Leaf Gardens, mate? I saw them twice there, and interviewed Jon Anderson at the nearby Sutton Place hotel.
@@ashleyjudecollie wow! Lucky you. I would have loved to have met them, of course
I was at the same concert! I'm pretty sure Jon was waving at me too. :)
temazo. para escuchar 1.000.000 de veces. puesto
Simplesmente espectacular!
Absolutely sublime music. I was fortunate to witness this performed from the fourth row center once.
Great music, RIP CS
There's nothing better than this just a comment from an old man
My very first live concert was seeing Yes in February of 1974 during the “Tales From Topographic Oceans” Tour. Saw them four times after that during the ‘70s. They were such a big part of my life as an adolescent and I’ll always be grateful I grew up in a time when music was transcendent. The musical landscape has suffered the same fate as the natural one during the intervening years.
My story is much the same except my first concert was 1977 Yes in the Round Houston Coliseum
Cobo Hall - Detroit My friend Chris' older brother had a record collection that would've rivaled any of the FM stations. Thought the albums were terrific, but live.. blew me away. Anytime they were inntown, we were there; $8.50 Mainfloor !
My 1st Yes concert many years ago. Just a lad then,76 now and still rate them as one of the best bands ever. So much talent, live and real music 😊
I love this group. They are ethereal. They take me in a very soulful trip.❤
Anderson at his best, surrounded by the finest musicians ever, and still in full command of the stage, with a grace and power that his substitute can only dream of. And I really liked Benoit in the latest Yes studio album, but I just don't think he can walk in Anderson's shoes as a frontman of this mighty band.
only a word: monsters!!!!! i love them
This song touches the deepest fibers of my being with the most profound joy. 🙏
Awesome, saw in 1971, In Philly 💖💖 With Bobby
The "Mona Lisa" of music.
But of course being from a true masterpiece of an album.
Nice memories… I saw them during this world tour. So many years ago…And still one of the best performance I’ve seen in my life (62 yo now).
Great Yes, great song..., yes indeed!
Steve Howe has got to be my favourite guitarist. No cliches with string bending etc.. A slightly classical style all of his own. Absolutely lovely.
A time in rock music where musicians were extremely good, good arrangement & song writing meant something and
live performance was magnificent.
This song and I have history. I became a Yes fan at a young age, I am the youngest of 4, my oldest brothers introduced me to Classic Rock in elementary school. My brother Tom bought
Yessongs album for my 18th birthday. And you and I quickly became my favorite Yes song.
As fate has it, we were listening to that song when our grandfather passed away. We lived in his house, and he was a huge influence on us. I was the baby so we were very close. It was no coincidence that " And you and I " was playing
I saw them live in Santiago - Chile in the 90's. It was Amazing!!!
The best group ever to me
Steven me also,I’m 61 seen them 7 times throughout the years, thru all there band members fantastic music
So much talent on one stage. It is overwhelming.
Talent here is off the charts to pull this off live, a rock symphony with with Andersons voice rising above all the musicians, amazing band.
I saw.them.all the time.in México city... In1999 (palacio de los deportes) this song deserved an standing ovation for several minutes
A masterpiece, a privilege
Brilliant ! :)
💕
Amazing - absolutely love this one
YES, when music was real, we will sadly never see their like again.
Extraordinarios.
