Fav combo: Oos side throw into zone into dodge forward heavy into a side unblockable heavy faint into deflect into dodge forward heavy faint into guard break into side heavy. It's a lot, but it is simple and super fun to pull off. If they dont fall to the side unblockable heavy faint, just let it go.
I'm glad I now know that his recovery time varies depending if it's a light or heavy cause I thought it was a bug that I couldn't dodge into enemy light attacks after a side dodge heavy Thank for the vid

Nice video, I would like to add two more things. His dodge forward heavy has pretty good gb invulnerability. Basically if someone decides to use his/her feint ub(or heavy) into gb then they will bounce off for either the heavy or the gb for you. Also you can knock your opponent OOS and ledge them with your deflect. Good video though. Didn’t know about deflect dodge forward gb.
Could be wrong but I swore that the dodge light being guaranteed was only a thing on one side heavies and not both side heavies. Also I think the reason why that GB is guaranteed is because of the buffer feint into GB speed being faster. (300ms) Kensei actually gets a GB from forward deflect because he can cancel his forward dodge into a GB. This makes me ponder about other heros with SB on dodge. Anyway, it's always nice to see a non recognized YTer mentioning things like recovery timings. It probably has a better chance of reaching the average player. Nice guide overall. I knew most of this myself but I did learn on how to make better use of his deflect bash because of this video. I just found it to be useless prior to this because the blind really doesn't make his UB finisher mix up any better. So im excited to work this into my gameplay.
About the guard breaks on deflect part I found that it does not need to be a top heavy for example laws side heavy also gives you a free guard brake but not his top I think it's worth while to test what works and what does not

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the zone after deflect. Much like cancelling chains with dodge and zone that branches into limitless, you can do the same thing following the deflect stun attack.

What advantage does it give zhanghu to have these recovery dodges and should you be using them whenever possible or is it dependent on the scenario? thanks! anyone can answer this if they know the answer!
Can you post a advanced Hitokiri guide now that the move set is so different. Pulse it’s just hard to find good punishes and tricks for Hito so it would really help.
Definitely a frustrating hero to learn. No matter how much I mix up my attacks & feint, i'm parried 100% of the time and killed. Then again, most people just play the staring game.

Yep, Zhanhu dodge heavy is a very underrated tool.
