Vivian drank some magic juice before this hole concert. Still to day after wearing this VHS tape out and getting baked I still never seen such a performance.
I saw them on this tour. Vivian played with so much fire early in his career. No one could touch his solos back then IMO. Ronnie was brilliant! Wish the original Dio would have stayed together.
R.I.P. Ronnie Legend James DIO 🤩🤘🎸🙏🦾🎤 I’m great full for getting an opportunity to see him live at Universal Amphitheater around the year 2001 or 2000 in Universal City (L.A.) I felt bad for him because he was rushed due to the stage crew there would turn off the lights prematurely so he was rushing through his set with urgency to finish all the songs. Despite the unfortunate situation he was a true professional and I am glad I got to hear that huge voice in the little Italian body that contained the Legendary talent. His spirit and music will live on forever 🙏💪🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘❤
15 years old "1985" when i first heard this song in a cassette tape in my room, same year i then bought this Vhs cassette and watched it 1000 times! 1986 Sacred Heart saw him live and in person and 15 more times up until 2007 w/ H&H. Long live the Music of DIO.
As a singer, I have rarely, IF EVER, heard a singer that was able to have that much power, growl, fullness and tone in their voice and then still hit all the high notes night after night like RJD.... and he did it to his end... Wow
Have actively tried to find a single moment in any recorded live performance, official or bootleg, where Dio went flat or sharp or slipped even a little bit. Have yet to come upon it. Saw him several times in the ‘80s, and he delivered every time, for the duration of the show. It is baffling how he sang like this, night after night, year after year, decade after decade. He was a perfect singer and performer, one a kind, the Eddie Van Halen of rock vocals.
Saw this tour in Providence. Dio so polite, no F bombs. On the other hand, TS opening, were completely nasty (as they should be). Civic Center was missing a roof. One of many ill never forget.
There will never be another DIO and the combination with Vivian was pure magic. Dio and Vivian had some kind of feud that I don’t exactly know was about. Vivian left for DEF LEPARD which Dio laughed about. That was a pretty stupid move, but he did it for some reason. They just kind of stick him off to to the side on the stage, what a waste. Somewhere along the way Vivian got cancer, got cured and I thinkit came back but he is fine now, a really nice guy. Before hh I saw DIO say in an interview “I wish Vivian would die” That was so out of character for Dio, he was a really nice guy from every interview I saw him do. Those METAL days aren't over, they are making a comeback. I’m not talking about all of the sub-genre junk that are using the same chord played over and over with grunting vocals. That junk has been around forever. Dio was HEAVY METAL and there were a lot of bands using the style. They became so stupid and insipid with the songs the kids started ignoring them for alternative. One of the few heavy metal bands that didn’t go down the drain was IRON MAIDEN and they are still going strong. I believe that the songs are what really kept them going, they are of real events in history, interesting ideas, not stupid junk. The musicians are excellent, although I think Dickinson has lost his voice, they have run out of ideas for new songs and the band should retire. They have their body of work to stand by, so go out at the top. Now there are real HEAVY METAL bands coming around playing real songs, not SWEET CHERRY PIE shit. Some started a couple of years ago, some new ones right now. They just aren’t in the bright light yet. Hey look at this; Smith/Kotzen ua-cam.com/video/OOyeowWVwN8/v-deo.html Myles Kennedy has always been around in some incarnation……. ua-cam.com/video/p7sdjPH513c/v-deo.html Slash is out there someplace……….. I could go on and on. You just need to dig around on youtube and you will find this stuff. The wimpy guys better GET OUT OF THE WAY. I call it milk toast music. Still get goose bumps when this song comes on radio. Bad Ass tune...One of the Great tours i've seen (Providence RI). Consider myself Extremely lucky to have grown up in this era and to witness this legend..
NICE, THIS IS THE PHILLY SPECTRUM RIGHT? I DONT KNOW OF ANY OTHER PLACES CALLED THE SPECTRUM, I'M FROM PHILLY BORN AND RAISED, I LIKE THE NEW STADIUMS BUT I'D RATHER HAVE THE SPECTRUM AND THE VET BACK, TEAMS WERE SCARED TO COME THERE AND YEA THEY WERE TRASHY DUMPS, BUT THEY WERE OUR DUMPS
Yep he will always be missed by me cause after hearing he's music for the first time he was simply my favorite singer and always will be forever more no doubt.
Greatest DiO lineup to date. No one could sound like Vinnie, Vivian and Jimmy! Underrated as usual. Saw Vinnie at a local drum clinic and remember his kit thundering though the ground.
Saw him on this tour at the mighty Capital Centre!! Some time in September 1984...he was incredible! What a voice....completely unique and extremely powerful.
Do your demons - do they ever let you go When you've tried - do they hide -deep inside Is it someone that you know You're a picture - just an image caught in time We're a lie - you and I We're words without a rhyme
I was at this show, and unfortuneately, some of it didn't make it to the video release, like Man on the silver Mountain and holy diver to name a few :(
I love that performance. That was the guitar I liked to see Campbell play. So he can get a little whammy bar action happening. And I thought the red and white looked good. Matched his pants. ;)
Dio had so much power in his voice for a 4’ 10” guy, that engineers had to come up with a special microphone for him to stand up to the overwhelming blast of frequencies and sonic energy he gave it. Before they did, he blew out mics left and right. Not to mention sound system modifications that were also needed. They had never encountered such a powerful voice before. But he didn’t just have power. He had range, tonality, expression, and melodic delivery in spades. He gave you absolute chills to hear live.
I haven't seen anyone play that solo like V. Campbell.
Craig goldy maybe does a bit of justice
One of the greatest metal guitar solos ever
100% Truth.
it is defnitly
But the singer is the best
@@matt8863 this is live and better than the studio version.
Love the Rhythm as well, fun to play!
This band should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Diversity over content. The RHOF is a joke.
Vivian drank some magic juice before this hole concert. Still to day after wearing this VHS tape out and getting baked I still never seen such a performance.
One of the most perfect metal songs ever!!
I totally agree, this song stirs something up inside me I love it....
You may be a racist, but you do have good taste in music.
Isn't metal, is hard rock
What a band best line up dio ever had and his voice absolute ppwer
my fav rn
When Music actually was Music.....Long Live Metal.
Vivian Campbell shreds. RIP RJD & Jimmy Bain. Your music lives forever!

En rockstjärna på himlen har fallit, för världen har en rockikon försvunnit.
I våra hjärtan och i musiken lever du alltid kvar!
R.I.P Ronnie
This entire band is just too good, this is what music is all about.
Love Vivian's red leather pants and Dio's voice! What memories.
Saw this tour in Providence. Dio so polite, no F bombs. On the other hand, TS opening, were completely nasty (as they should be). Civic Center was missing a roof. One of many ill never forget.
Immortal voice.
One of the greatest live shows ever
RIP Jimmy Bain, 50% of an amazing band no longer with us but the memories remain forever.
Dio is such a powerful vocalist and that Guitarist is amazing, Metal was everything back then, I miss those days.... Metal Rules
