You are doing the Amiga Lord's work here, Chris! Great job! I just ordered my pi400 this morning and look forward to setting it up! Because I currently only have 3,823 ways to run Amiga software, and I need 3,824.

Your going to love Pimiga 1.5. The Pi400 is nice but toss that joystick and get a wireless mouse not that its a bad mouse but that damn short cable is annoying unless your left handed because the cable gets annoyingly snagged under the power and HDMI cables. If you have a Pi4 play with that too because you can place it near the video device and not have to deal with the wires. I want to mount a Pi4 behind a TV with an internal SSD and one button to turn the thing on. I did think of throwing a Pi4 in an A600 case with a keyrah but that means cables and one thing about our classic Amiga's is cables so why not have a virtually cable free Amiga Experience.

it is far from perfect ? i would say it is close to the best effort ever made to bring us THE Amiga. It is coming from an Atari St user : i wish i had an amiga in the days ! (ouch that was painful but i feel better now). Thank you for the quick tour and the very hard work and passion you put into this.

I'm so glad I watched your video, after going from a Pi3 to the Pi 400 I did not realise the issue with plugging the HDMI in the wrong port. Love this setup and glad I found it, mainly due to the channel by Dan Wood. All the best :)

Great work Chris, and thank you again. I'll see if I can add and organise some more stuff among others the ST-01 to ST-99 sample disks for those who want to make music, as well as an extended tracker modules compilation. Could be nice to have a multiboot preset so several historical versions of kickstart/workbench would be easily booted.

Thank you, I finally got my 128GB MicroSD card, Installed your image file and booted to Pimiga. I freed up the storage and connected wifi thanks to your instructions, my home made arcade joystick and buttons also worked (wish I had that back then). Spent the day reminiscing and playing the old games I loved as a child. Cheers :)

Hey Chris. Just installed Pimiga 1.5 and I'm loving it, great work! Totally takes me back. I also wanted to say that I'm honoured you included one of my tracks in the MED folder! 😁 It's "Subconscious Experience". I have a few others still on Aminet. Feel free to include them in future releases of Pimiga. 😊 Not sure if it's your style but "Valium" and "Autumn Transitional" are a couple tunes I was relatively proud of back in the day. I'm sure Sheffra and Red Kaa would also love to have some of their music included as well. He was in our global group of MED/MOD musicians called "da jointmen". lol.. silly name but we were kids. We generally made Jungle/drum n bass, trip hop and other forms of electronic musical styles. Again, great work and can't wait to see what you do with the next version! 😀

    Hello !
I have version 1.2b of Pimiga. It works so well that I recovered a broken Amiga 500, put the raspberry in it, connected an Arduino pro mini to manage the real Amiga 500 keyboard and deported the SD drive instead of the floppy drive, as well as the connections USB, Ethernet and the power socket, as well as a mini jack plug to RCA female adapter for sound output on the back of the Amiga 500.
I am going to test this version 1.5 of Pimiga, thank you very much for your work !!!

I had an OG Amiga 1000 which I bought new back in 1985 when I was a senior in High School. What a RPI can do Amiga wise in emulation leaves my trusty old 1000 in the dust. The most advanced game I ever had was Frontier which blew my teenage mind. I've just bought a Pi 400 and downloaded the MF edition of PiMiga 1.5. The only thing I didn't do correctly was put the rom in the Kicks folder, BECAUSE I DIDN'T RTFM!! 😎😄😃 Thanks for putting me out of my misery with this video and many thanks for all your hard work in compiling this and assembling it all together. I got a chance to play with it. I like it a lot you did a great job with it. I pulled the 3.1 A1200 ROM off the Amiga Forever Disc and had to copy the ROM.KEY file over to the kick partition because the renamed file failed a checksum but not so much after moving the ROM.KEY file. Not a big deal there. While I do have Pi4 I really wanted to use the Pi400 which was the first time I ever used it and finding that F12 key was a challenge but Fn F2 would be helpful in the readme files for the Pi400 for stupid people like me who are not familiar with the key layout. Yes I did read all 7 pages in the ReadMe file. I will be making an SD Card for the Pi4.

I found a game I loved as a kid, and have really enjoyed playing it. However, I have been trying to find a way of adding one that is missing - it is called Merchant Colony. @ChrisEdwardsRestoration  3 роки тому +1

sure, if you have the adf of the original game you will need the slave file for it, EAB has a great archive of whdloads, or a simple google search can show you thousands. get the slave file and just copy the disk contents and slave to a folder on games:whdload/subfolder /subfolder etc... you will see the naming convention, then just rescan the iGame repositories and walah.

Great Release! Thank a bunch! On my overclocked Pi400 I had some sound issues in everything (like cracking and popping) - I solve this by switching audio back from pull to push audio. No more cracking after that :)

its a old one from the 90's its a strongman key type, called Microconnectors USB flavored keyboard for macintosh, it was sold by ComputerCity for 29$ back in the day. there were 6 total to match the colors of the new 333mhz iMac's at the time. good luck finding one, ive been looking for others for years. i have red and green.

Cannot thank Chris and Company enough for this! Also, I think it's a good sign the Robots are on deck for approval too. Showing their support of Pi!!

This really is epic thank you for the work you've put in. If you ever want to create similar but with WB 3.1 I think that'd be very popular also 👍. Thanks again

This is awesome and I'll be gifting some cash for sure. The content is never ending, however there are plenty of issues and things that don't work right, but considering the HUGE content and the old Amiga OS I'm not surprised. Example is TOSEC Complete Public Domain folder only contains files up to M and not further.

    No KICK: Drive??
I spent countless hours trying to get this to work with different download, imagers, etc and none of them had this kick: drive to copy the Roms to.
It turns out it cannot be seen on a Windows 7 machine, but when i moved to Windows 10, i could see the KICK: drive and copy on the kick rom ok :)
    Great work Chris, thank you.

Many thanks for continuing the development of k8o's original project. I don't yet have a Pi, but I had V4 running nicely in WinUAE so this should be no different :-)

Great release! Here is my 2 cents although I sent considerably more than that in appreciation. I used AF rom and had to use the AF rom.key also for it to work.
I found the Shapeshifter stuff fascinating only problem was the mouse pointer is trapped in the lower right corner of the screen. This happens in both versions. I am using Pi 400 w Pi mouse running the “Lite” version. If anyone has any ideas I would love to explore these excellent programs further. Thank you!

    • @ChrisEdwardsRestoration
      @ChrisEdwardsRestoration  3 роки тому +1

Yes launch shapeshifter as normal pref the 7.5 one. When it starts press f12 and swap the cpu to 040 then resume. But wait for it to finish loading the mac side before you move the mouse. Then you will be fine
