MOZ only has 2 supermarkets/grocery stores: one in Vai'are & the other (smaller) one in PaoPao. It looks like you guys were going to the "magasins", they're more like small local marts or "country stores". They will not stock many things. There are loads of restaurants & food trucks that aren't crazy expensive.
Good advice. We found that the prices were pretty much the same no matter which store we went to 🤷🏼♂️ When we did find the food trucks they were awesome
Ia ora na (hello) There are more than the named 2 supermarkets around the island. In Maharepa - main business area - you find 2 (one at beginning of village and one at center of village). Meanwhile you find 7-9 smaller markets - called magasins - around the island. At Cook's Bay (Paopao Bay) direct at waterfront you find a snack bar (snack rotui), which is very popular by locals. And there you have an amazing view of Cook's Bay. Greetings from Mo'orea (where I live) 🌴🏖😎🇵🇫🇫🇷🇪🇺
Ia ora na (hello) Note: There is NO division in 100 centimes of CFP. Centimes were an division of former French francs in France. CFP is just CFP. 100 CFP are 0,93 USD or 0,84 Euro. Abbreviation CFP comes from original name Franc des Colonies françaises du Pacifique. CFP is currency of French-Polynesia, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna. Locals just say franc. Can’t get over the fact that you keep repeating how expensive it is here ?! We just had lunch with a spectaculair view (@tropical garden): fresh grilled fish with fries and salad for 16 euro’s !! Good luck when you travel to Europe 😅
Take the ferry about $25 round trip 30 minutes each way. Way easier than checking in at an airport. Also rent a scooter from eco car near the airport in Tahiti 125 cc goes fast and is only 35$. / day and you can take it to Moorea
@@mellamodiego8458 Ia ora na (hello) Doesn't make any difference (you can only pick up and return scooter in Tahiti) and then you have additional costs with ferry to/from Mo'orea for scooter + 2 persons. Greetings from Mo'orea (where I live) 🌴 🏖 😎 🇵🇫 🇫🇷 🇪🇺
Ia ora na (hello) Here my advice: If you want to stay in closer distance to the more "active" side of Mo'orea - supermarkets, restaurants, shopping, tours, sightseeing etc., you should book accomodation within area from Afareaitu to Maharepa and Cook's Bay / Opunohu Bay. My advice: Check online for a bungalow - you have a great selection in every price range and size. Greetings from Mo'orea (where I live) 🌴 🏖 😎 🤙🇵🇫 🇫🇷 🇪🇺
We rented kayaks from tipaneers beach to paddle around! It sounds like if you take a boat to coco beach that there is a place over there where you can see them as well
Hey man I hear you. First off don’t be a doubter. Then slowly but surely get yourself some moneh. While getting that moneh make sure you have faith and a god damn plan. Soon enough you’ll be in in Tahiti mango farming

The currency in French Polynesia is the CFP franc, which is divided into 100 centimes.
I couldnt believe it was just the frank! I thought it was something entirely different
