Bendigo Pioneers - Lexi Gregor

Lexi has shown incredible resilience throughout her journey in the Bendigo Pioneers program. In 2023 Lexi did not play a single Talent League game, nor did she make it through a full training session due to a significant back injury. This did not stop her travelling to Bendigo twice per week to compete her rehab and physio under the watchful eye of our program staff. This was a key contributor to Lexi remaining engaged in our program and experiencing a major turn around in 2024.
Lexi missed just one Talent League game throughout this season (illness), played all three National Champs Games for VIC Country, made her VFLW debut for Carlton and represented the U23 All Stars who played against the AFLW Academy. The determination, hard work and trust in the process from Lexi has been simply outstanding. This was also evident to her team mates, as they nominated her as the co-captain of our team for 2024.
Lexi displays exceptional strength which can be seen through her aerial ability and contested marking particularly in 1 v 1s, long range kicking execution, and ground level work. She has played largely as a key position player in both the forward and backline throughout this season, however standing at 181cm tall has the ability to also roll through the ruck if and when needed.
Hailing from Moama, she has set an incredible example and has been a fantastic role model to other Girls coming through this part of the Pioneers region.
