What a beautiful sounding instrument! Congrats on the find!" The Finnish Jazz band Unisono recorded a great album "Uni Sono" back in 1975 that used a C Melody in combination with other sax's to create a VERY interesting sound (album rare and only available on vinyl, unfortunately.) All the best and enjoy making beautiful music with your wonderful instrument.
Great playing, and the Conn sounds very good indeed. The C aspect is actually very helpful sometimes. Transposing on an alto is always rather, er, annoying. Easier on a Bb horn for some reason. You're encouraging me to get one of these Conn C Mels.
My Conn with the original mouth piece had a beautiful classical tone. Does anybody know if C reeds are available? When using a jazz mouthpiece, it sounds like a poor cross between alto and tenor.
the reedstore has Maccaferri C-mel reeds that work well and are cut to the correct size for my Holton MP, Thomman sells C-mel reeds that also work well despite not being cut correctly. alternatively Morgan sells new rubber mouthpieces that despite mild intonation issues are fun to play with Fiberreed Copper carbon classic tenor reeds. makes for a completely different sound but fun to play non critically
so nice playing.

Consider me jealous! ;-)
Muy bonito. Cuánto cuesta uno de esos saxofones?
Hey, sounds good man. Tenor mouthpiece?
¡No!, ¡Es una boquilla para el saxofón melódico!
@@davidhernando1988se puede saber que boquilla? Es la original antigua?
Es la original que vino en el instrumento, la del tenor no funciona muy bien por temas de afinación
What reeds do you use? Bass clarinet reeds?
