When her husband returns victorious from the battlefield with a prophecy that he is to become King of Scotland, Lady Macbeth will stop at nothing to make their darkest ambitions a reality. The war is over but the battle for the throne has only just begun.
In her acclaimed plays This Restless House and The Duchess (of Malfi), Zinnie Harris reimagined classic texts, bringing the perspectives of their female characters centre stage. Shakespeare’s iconic Lady Macbeth is ruthless and driven, unstoppable in her pursuit of power, yet she quickly descends from strength to despair. Harris' thrilling new version revisits that trajectory asking if we have really heard the full story.

Honestly can’t wait for this. There’s no way il be able to get to see it. Unless it’s shown on Sky Arts. But i have read her adaptations before, A Dolls House, Duchess and This Restless House. I don’t know of many other plays based on Shakespeare plays aside from maybe Edward Bonds Lear. This is so exciting. I hope it’s published to read.
