Wowww! Armour mate. You've got the armour. You took some hits and dints getting to the start line on the weekend but all your runs and preparation gave you that armour. I was willing you on all the way. What a brilliant experience and memory. The race footage was brilliant and you did so well solo as there was no group to hold on to consistently. Celebrate this success mate, it's important to allow yourself that.
Mate I have loved every minute of it. I’m so happy with how things are going at the moment I’m smashing even more training! Thanks for the constant support. I appreciate it
Hey there AJ, good video mate 👍 With the medal sticker you can visit your local trophy & engraving shop and they will easily be able to create the little stick-on engraving section for you
So happy for you. My race hack is to arrive the day before I need to or take a very early flight. Easier said than done, but I don’t trust airlines to not screw it up! Are you doing anything this weekend for the Ironman? Seeing your run on strava, I was really hanging for this video.
Thanks mate! I hope you enjoyed it. Unfortunately I work in an industry that has fixed leave periods so travelling a day earl would mean losing that day’s pay. I’m going to have a quick swim on Sunday morning. Are you participating?
Hello Andrew, not sure if you’ll remember me, I was a student in your class back in 2014 for year 7, my name is Blair thought I’d say hi and how is it going. I was going through my old year book photos and was seeing how all my favourite teachers are doing.
Hey Blair. Of course I remember you mate. Your class taught me a lot about what it takes to be a good teacher. It still disappoints me that the class’ christmas presents were stolen. I was realising proud of what you guys grew into that year.
@@runningwithaj oh nice year 6 and 7 were my favourite classes, ending primary school off with you as a teacher was the best. Yeah still sad we didn’t get those pens, was looking forward to them, even when we all dug through the rubbish bins to find them. My mum even remembered this, as she remembered you as one of my good teachers spending your own money on gifts for us. All graduated now ahah finished year 12 and now a bartender at the RSL. Are you teaching still? I seen you’ve taken up running marathons a lot as well.
@@runningwithaj your mindset has changed big time. Instead of fight against x,y and z before and during a race and losing energy and good tension, you now are able to embrace whatever happens and make the best you can out of it. This sets you free to fly like an eagle
Thanks mate. I’m really happy with where I am at. The only problem with training for the marathon is that I don’t know if i can do the pyramid. I’d be too likely to hurt myself on the way down!
Great run mate, would have been nice running in that cooler air! I ran on the Atherton rail trail this past weekend and could notice how much easier it was not running in a sauna 😂
Mr Lamond! Awesome V-Log. very exciting. and wow. what a great run! congratulations.
Thanks. I had a great time and I’m pretty proud of it.

Great run! Smashed the PB and your race seemed to go well. Enjoyed watching the vlog….👍🏻
Thanks mate. I absolutely loved this run. First time I feel like I nailed the half.
Congratulation on the PB. Loved how you burnt the guy celebrating at the end of the race.
Thanks mate. I was happy with that. He got a shock as I went past but I kept him out!
Great work mate and awesome result.
Thanks friend!
Impressed! That was a solid race in any aspect. Had to giggle a little when you talked about "cold" though😅
Thanks! Yeah I grew up in a cold place. I’ve become very soft. My childhood self would hate me for this video!

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll check it out.

Great. Look forward to cheering you on!

Smashed it buddy, well done 💪
Thanks mate 🙌🏼
congratulations for an almost perfect race. That was the best race i saw on your channel and a great springboard for the marathon training
Thank you so much. That’s a really nice thing to say. I’ve found a really good balance with my running at the moment which is awesome.

And I’m loving it!
Good run AJ. You didn't let the problems prior to the run get in the way. You'll go under 2 hrs on 6 August, no worries.

I saw that run on strava. I love running along there. It’s always so nice and breezy. It’s amazing what a little cool air does for your running!
@@runningwithaj it was bliss, I highly doubt it’ll feel as easy on Sunday in Cairns though! Are you doing anything at the race as a team or anything?
Yeah I’m going to swim on Sunday morning so it doesn’t interfere with my long run. Looking forward to seeing you on course on Sunday!
