29 Marine these are very useful. I will inform my fellow poolies that this is on here. Thank you for taking the time to break things down like this
Yooooo! Have more confidence in yourself. You're doing well.
Ohhhhh ok thanks for answering my questions, keep up the awesome videos
Thanks for the tip two nine, i will keep it in mind
Lol hahaha I always thought the insignia inside the Master Gunnery Sergeant Rank was a pineapple :/
Tristan Hayden I thought the exact same thing until I saw this video, lmao.
***** Most gunners are pretty good about it too. At least the few that I knew
Thanks for the help man.
for all of those going to boot camp, your drill instructors will make you say dittys like 400 times, they will make sure you will memorize these ranks if you don't already know them when you get in.
great vids very helpful
wow thanks alot man......this is really useful to a furtue marine
Thats cool man, my uncle was in the marines he was in four years i believe, he retired as a corporal
For staff seargent or higher, you say three chevrons crossed rifles and one cheveron
Thats great, i want to stay in until im atlest a gunnery seargent, but if its close to the twenty year mark then i will jyst hit twenty then
Opha Mae Johnson 1918
smmc got 3 chevrons two 5 points stars a united states marine corps badge and 4 rocker
Yes, you will. You only need 15 college credit hours for E2 (PFC).
I have the ranks and the general orders down, i only have one question about the sixth general order though, from how i was tought it, recieve obey and pass on the sentry who relieves me all orders from the commanding officer, command duty officer, officer of the day, officer of the deck, and all officers and petty officers of this watch, i have heard it another way, but is the way i learned it correct
can you make a video of what the major does in umsc
I want to stay in as long as i physically and mentally can
Oh sorry, I should have specified. That's not what I meant. In the Army there are 2 different rank insignia for a Sergeant Major and a Command Sergeant Major. Is that the case for the Marine Corps as well?
Oh and I was wondering, my uncle was promoted to Master Gunnery Sergeant a few years ago and I remember hearing that was a high as he could go. So I guess I'm wondering why he could get promoted to sergeant major, he also went strait out of high school and didn't go to college . Does that matter? And can he go higher?
What does the master gunnery sergeant do?
Hehe, he is play Dayz xD. That is what I needed these insignia's for xD.
You're picture for E-9 is for CSM is it not? wouldn't a SGM have something different or is that just the Army?
Do the aviators in the USMC use the same ranks?
Is the dash in the paygrade required when writing them down? (I already have Enlisted, Warrant Officer, and Officer ranks memorized, I'm just wondering.) Thank you.
did you also have to remove the marine corps emblems from your videos?
Joshua Gatti I heard about that. From DevilDogGamer right? I'll prolly need to but haven't heard anything yet.
What rank were you when you left the marines? and keep the videos coming i really like your channel.
Nice thats what i want to be when i get out of the marines or possibly higher.Oh and when your contract is up can you keep on going?
How long were you inthe marines for?
I didnt mean for itvto be hostile, i just thought that you accidently had said it wrong by mistake, i shoulfnt have kept running my mouth, i do plan on joining, would you recommend me doing the delayed enlistment program
Hey 29 Marine i have 38 College credits, do i go in as a PFC right after bootcamp?
how is this history
How long were you in?
u gotta be more motivated devildog and put some history behind the meaning of each rank. why do Marine enlisted have crossed rifles? etc.. when did the Marine corps implement the crossed rifles what's an NCO? what's a Staff NCO? how long typically does it take to promote.. what's a meritorious promotion?
do a period of instruction brother... not a picture point..... I'd say try this again but amount up the Moto and do a "GAIN ATTENTION"
How do you move up ranks quickly?
Luis Soto Do your job and do it well. They take note of when you fuck up so...don't fuck up.
How long does it take to become a sergeant major of the marine corps
There is only 1 Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps every four years. So the vast majority of people will never get it. It takes, on average, 20ish years or so to get Sergeant Major though. Just depends.
im 15 and looking to go into the marines when im older but I was wondering (might be a stupid question) but do you have to go through bootcamp after you re enlist
***** thank you for answering my questions and thank you for serving our country
What is the highest rank you can get without collage?
You can achieve any rank except Warrant Offcier ranks and Officer ranks. So E-1 through E-9 without a college degree.
What does the "e" stand for? And how does it take to become a sergeant?
The "E" stands for Enlisted. And it depends on your MOS. But 4 years + isn't uncommon.
You get told. And there is a website that you'll be able to see it as well.
can you get battlefield commisions in the marine corps?
When an enlisted man steps up and preforms jobs way beyond his rank (usually when his officer dies or is wounded to the point of not being able to fight) and does that job for an extended amount of time. Generals can promote you to LT right on the spot.
How did you get Sergeant in 4 years?
+Yashiah Poe Being badass! Lol. Nah but really the score for Sergeant in my MOS dropped decently low because a LOT of guys got out. My score was pretty damn high anyways.
Do you have to do MCI's to get promoted
Larry Sanders It's more important now yes. Shows you are putting in extra effort.
"History"
How long would it be to be a sergeant major?
It's rare to see a Sergeant Major that isn't approaching or past their 18-20 year mark. It can happen before that but it's definitely rare.
if I become a marine right after high school, would I be a private or a private first class?
Most likely a Private unless you kicked ass and got promoted when you graduate.
uggg ok, any way I could be a pfc after boot without stressing myself even more?
You can join the Young Marines or a similar JROTC program, you can get two people to enlist in the Corps, or you can have 15 college credits before you go.
I just know what the hell im talking about, my njrotc instructor was a marine for 24 years so i know he knows what the hell he is talking about
Pshhh whatever drop me before opening my mouth, thats what lot say, i knew this shit since i was 10 years old i bet you learned them when you were in basic,
Oh ok i see now, why would tne marines have petty officers, im laughing at my self now, thanks man
This guys is a lier! Stolen valor!
@milton -- the word is spelled "liar" and nothing he said was incorrect. He did leave out E-1 Private but since that rank has no stripes I can see where it would be difficult to show anything.
My dad's a retired master guns and when I was young and he was still in I always asked him why he had a pineapple on his uniform lol
Lol what did he say??
+Tony Montana "it means I'm a badass"
+Christian Sanchez oh wow lol
Well anyways thank him for his service
He's absolutely right lol
