Playa Esmeralda - Sol Rio de Luna y Mares - Guardalavaca, Holguin, Cuba

One of the best beaches in Cuba is Playa Esmeralda, located in Guardalavaca, Holguín, Cuba.
This beach is about one kilometer long (approximately), gets its name from the clear deep green (emerald green) waters that lap along these white sands.
It is a perfect setting to enjoying the available swimming, windsurfing, sailing and diving.
A good place for snorkelers with nice coral reefs. The beach is surrounded by cliffs and lush vegetation.
You will find the Melia Hotels International, the Sol Rio Luna y Mares and Paradisus Rio de Oro.
Playa Esmeralda is located five kilometers from Guardalavaca. The beach is exclusive for the hotels' guests.

Very nice...almost went there this year as I like to snorkel and it's a great snorkeling beach but some Trip Advisor comments turned me off...or should I say turned off my wife and daughter. One guy and his wife commented that some sewage was leaking into the beach water and we didn't want to go there and get sick. Other comments about the shape of the rooms kind of changed our minds too. Sounds like a lot of people like it here and I would have like to have tried a new place in Cuba but we are going back to Cayo Coco. I really would have liked to snorkel here! Maybe some other time... Cheers, John ;)
