Doing the Gibb and only have a really small issue like a broken coolant system part ! Well done!! Oh and a door latch! I reckon by the time I do the Gibb, my whole vehicle will be loctited.😊
A beautiful part of the world, despite the roads being notoriously tough on vehicles and vans. Unfortunately these things are the price we pay for admission. Hopefully you got your 12v sorted okay too. You're probably aware that when companies like Iveco use crimp-on clamps, hose assemblies like that one are intended to be replaced as a unit. It's likely the tee is signalling things to come and some other components are getting to the end of their service life too. Your Iveco must be about a decade old now and it might be time for a cooling system refresh for peace of mind. I do recall you replaced the engine at one point and I'm not sure how much of the cooling system was replaced at that time (I'm assuming, for instance, the water pump was new), but at the very least things like the coolant reservoir and hoses would be up there on my list for replacement if they were not new at the time the engine was done. Most of those Euro diesels use a specific coolant too, and although that concentrate will get you out of trouble for now it would be best to flush the cooling system and fill it with the correct coolant when time and circumstances permit. We've just refreshed the cooling system on our Canter for exactly this reason.
Thanks mate appreciate the reply! We have since had the clutch cylinder go, and replaced it with the whole assembly, I think you might be right about the system refresh.
Hi guys enjoyed your content you both had on stressful couple of days but really Iveco shouldn't use a piss pot plastic tee from the start even industrial plastic will fail all to save a few bucks not using metal tee. Electrolysis can be issue brass fitting with aluminium components but a quality coolant should OK.
Sorry guys but this is the new norm .Most modern vehicle use plastic fantastic which fails without warning. I guess best option carry spares but how much do carry?
Exactly right! We try not to stress about stuff like this. Breakdowns can provide the most interesting experiences :) thanks for watching and commenting, we really appreciate it.
I love that there are wonderful people that will stop and help when you are broken down. ❤😊
Us too!! We have found that every time we break down someone is willing to at lease try to help! 😍

Hi Daniel it not the corrugated roads it is plastic tee piece that has run its life cycle.

Yep, it's just everywhere now though mate, not many vehicles that don't use plastic extensively for this stuff unfortunately.
Thanks for watching! 😁
