    Thanks for that review! Looks like a capable camera. It seems to have the exact same performance specs as my two TC06's. I have done 2 different mods with mine, powering by external batteries. I used a hobby box, and battery holders to use 10 of those EBL rechargeables, with one set of 5 AA's in series, another set of 5 AA's in series, and then the two sets of 5 in parallel. That gave me actual 6 volts (1.2 volts per battery X 5), with twice the AH of one set individually. Then I switched to a 12 volt 12 AH battery, with a 12 volt to 6 volt converter, as the TC06 runs on 6 volts. One of the TC06's is used nightly for a time lapse, which runs from 6:30 PM to 7:30 AM the next morning, on a 5 second start (which gives 9700+ images overnight). I have to recharge the battery only about once a week even with that heavy use. Of course, the down side is an external battery in a plastic ammo container and a chord to the camera, but as I only use it in my back yard, that is acceptable. There is a whole other life existence going on out there overnight I never realized before. Sometimes I'll stick a Battery Tender inside the ammo box connected to the battery, and plug that into an electrical outlet outside, and that way it runs continuously with no maintenance required. I wonder if I could use a 12 volt solar panel to do the same thing maybe? Thanks again for an awesome review!

      That's all a little deep to me but the TC06 was my favourite trail cam until this one. The sound on this is way better and having zero batteries makes this a clear winner. Thank you so much for your comment.

    Wow that trail cam is just amazing those images are just so clear in the day and night view. The fact that you don't need to buy batteries is a real game changer. Great review Dan you captured some really good footage with that camera.

    I believe the internal battery in the TC22 is 2x 18650 for a total of 4400mAh, and not 2x4400mAh as suggested. This would make it the same as the Ceyomur CY95 which also has the option of 4xAA as backup. Solar is a game changer but now we're into the Autumn in the UK it will be interesting to see how they fare.

    Why did you say it will last a year? Also, for an environment with woods and trees, do you recommend this or one with batteries and solar?

    • @DesperateDanDiscovers
      @DesperateDanDiscovers  Рік тому

      The instructions say with daily sun the solar panel will keep the lithium batteries topped up for a year.

    • @DesperateDanDiscovers
      @DesperateDanDiscovers  Рік тому

      I'd recommend both. It's too soon to say which is my favourite but this will definitely pay for itself in the batteries you will save.

    Hi Dan, I've just bought this camera and I'm looking for a bit of help with setup, could you tell me how to setup the Starlight night vision, I've checked all the camera menu's and the app (which was easy to connect with) but can't see it anywhere, if you can advise I'd be very grateful, cheers, Al.

    • @DesperateDanDiscovers
      @DesperateDanDiscovers  Рік тому +1

      You don't have to set it up. It's automatic. When you get your clips off, if the clip was taken in starlight it will say starlight at the bottom.
