He has a newer fantasy series I read first. "the black tongue thief" it is definitely worth checking out. He also has a werewolf book I didn't like as much. But I hate werewolves.....
I liked My Hairiest Adventure! I like when books follow a rock band and that one kinda does. Lol. I watched the Bone Chillers episode you mentioned. That was way better than any Goosebumps tv episode! Regarding Deathlands, that all sounds awesome! Great video
True, it does! Haha And yeah ,better is certainly a word you could choose for that episode, lol. Deathlands is better than I would have expected, and I'm very excited for a future tv show.
I would love to have all the Deathland books, or at least some, but I only have one. They are hard to come by, especially here in Germany. And I‘m not getting younger … BETWEEN TWO FIRES sounds interesting, so that one goes to my TBR. And as for Louis L‘Amour … I started to read one of his books. I forgot the name, but Brian Lee Durfee spoke very enthusiastic about it. But I didn’t like it. My main problem was that I couldn‘t picture the scenes … his writing was very sparse. I‘ll probably give him another chance … I have his LAST OF THE BREED, which is not a western and is described as a RAMBO style story about an American Indian pilot who escapes from a russian prison camp and has to fight his way back through siberian wilderness.
Oh bummer. They're not super common here either, but they definitely turn up now and again. Yeah, Between Two Fires is a good one to add to the list. Hope you dig it. I think k you hit the nail on the head. There's just something about his writing style that bothers me. Perhaps the sparse prose plays a part. Last of the breed does sound pretty badass. I'll have to look out for that one.
Hell yes. Great stuff. You should have ended the video with a fake death scene. I have only read one Louis L' Amour and it was a standard western and it was awesome. I've heard you all talk about that Sacket series and it just doesn't seem that appealing to me. I can't believe you read so many. Think of all the Hawks you could have read instead! Also, totally agree with your opinions on tiktok. 4/5
Yeah, apparently it takes me six books before I decide I don't like something, haha. Honestly, its books like Hawk that made me decide to quit. I know what I like. Who am I trying to kid? Yeah, I didn't have you pegged for a Tik-Tokker.
I remember reading DEVOUR and not liking it. It's hard to find creature horror where the human characters aren't boring for some reason. As a side note, have you ever read Richard Laymon?
Between two fires is one of my favourite books.
It's a solid book to have as a favorite. I feel like if I were smarter, I would appreciate it even more.

Nice. I'll add blacktongue thief to the neverending TBR. I definitely loved his prose.

Excited for the buddy read, should be fun. I love your breadth of reading, I haven't heard of most of these books, good to hear your thoughts on them.
Thanks for watching Ira! I'm excited as well. There's usually more scifi in here. But I was trying to stick to spooky for October.

I haven't read Between Two Fires but I really enjoyed The Suicide Motor Club and The Lesser Dead by Buehlman. The guy can write
Yeah he really can. I need to give his other stuff a try.

And yes, I have. Lots! I talk about him and a few of his books in my top 2000s horror video from a couple weeks ago!
"Bro, ngl, this book is mid, fr fr. Unlik the new Sanderson novel, that book is mad hype, no cap!"
- most of BookTok
You've really got your finger on the pulse, Tim.
@BadTasteBooks No, I'm just brain-rotted like all the others, sadly...😂
This video was hardcore mid, bro.
Aren't they all?
