  • This is a suggestive demonstration of what to do on your timing and water pump repair for a 2006 Lexus IS250 again this is just suggestive I always fix my own vehicles so have at it I try to document as much as possible if something is left out you can always ask me. I am not an AFC certified mechanic I'm just not afraid to take things apart and put them back together as such So if you are hoping that I am certified I am not again this video was just to show what other people have not shown During this process on a how to. Thanks for watching

Very nice brother, conventional knowledge is that one has to lift the engine up. That means you are of very few people on earth who figured this out.

I almost disconnected it from the engine. Now that I know, Ill try this approach.

I noticed the ratchet straps, did you have to lift the engine slightly to drop the oil pan?

I've done this timing chain thing with a gs450h from 2008 with the same knocking sound you have in this vid after you've start her.
Did the sound went smooth after a time? I had the thoughts of there was no oil coming thru pulled everything off again to see there was nothing to see...
Just sounded like it got no oil, what was your experience?

this really is challenging because I dont lift engines. Not sure if I should get rid of the car. or get a new engine.

@@farasmaroge1465what exactly happened with your experience? I’m doing my own as well and I’m having trouble

with me, its a gs300 same design as this cover. I did kinda bend the cover trying to pry it off without removing the pan. I have to get the engine lifted up and possibly jack the transmission or take out the engine. I found another cover junkyard $100 though. It'll be hard to get underneath the car cause u need special lifter like he has in this video I had one from harbor freights. Sometimes I honestly think ill get squashed if I take out the engine out of the screws that hold it though. Its a little risky imo. U can probably follow whats in this video. However, proceed with causion because you will be underneath. With me, I broke the bolt in the head because the tensioner bolts were too old and I didnt get new one. My timing chain kit didn't come with them! I have to remove the engine now. Heading that route. I am sure u can get yours done though.. I still have my car out in the garage at this step. This cover circulates oil into the engine, cams. Don't try to take it out without getting the pans out. Its impossible. Super important because of the pump you will mess up ur engine. @@jaythereal0633

The piston 1 and 4; do I need to do something to put them in place ?
    Or they adapt themselves?

Make sure all your timing marks are in place 1st before taking off your chain that is crucial

Alot of the videos I found on doing it aren't up any more as long as you had it in time before you took the chain off it should be fine because all your marks in line are you guide

Why did the timing chain need replacement?

    • @kloudlifeproductionsw8yze412
      @kloudlifeproductionsw8yze412  Рік тому +1

It started rattling shortly after I purchased the car I Googled it and found out that's the reason why it was rattling. It was time to replace it and the car had over 100k on the clock it's always been a rule of thumb to find out if and when these types of things have been done to any vehicle I buy it helps
To know how long I have before
      Things start falling apart

You can put a little silicone on that make sure it's extra clean before you do it as long as the gasket that's there is not damaged. You should be fine always give it time to dry first
