As someone whos played m&k since late 80s, I unfortuantely agree with you. MW3 and a few before are games where (as a 40+ year old man) I get called out for cheating. And damn it feels good, But this game doesnt even appear to be fair for m&k vs controller. I will NEVER switch to controller, I play inverted as well, so I run on muscle memory. The fact they moved the bar so far in the one direction is pretty fkn lame tbh. I just hope the change has a long term effect on the game. Im at the point now where its pretty fkn bullshit the amount of help controller gets, its getting to the point of playing against, what feels like, cheaters. God forbid we just play the damn game, the handicap is fkn unreal.
We seem to be in the same "age bracket" (remembering the good ol' doom days in '93...) and I agree with you.
With one exception: I moved from "I'll never play on controller" to "ok, lets try it" and got myself a microsoft elite controller (with paddles) 2-3 weeks ago. My verdict: goodbye MnK on COD (when playing for the “win”).
Watched 1hr. setup videos on youtube (never played controller before). Configured the 4 paddles and buttons so that they (kind of) matched my mnk setup. Plugged in -> For 3-4 days i just played private games on rust against 13-17 “recruit” Bots (around 2hrs. each time) Got on pub lobbies and earned around 4th place each game, always at least positive K/D. Getting better with each hour played.
(all on MW3)
My personal conclusion:
Do I enjoy MnK more than controller? Definitively!
Is Controller better suited for this game than MnK? Definitively!
Looking to win in sweaty lobbies while ranking up => controller is the way to go.
I do not care if this is “fair” or not, AA OP yadda, yadda, yadda…
It is what it is.
And I even (kind of) enjoyed learning a completely new skill set at my age. 🙂
I play on a 27-inch, 1440P monitor, and I found that changing the coefficient to 178 and ADS to 1.24 helped me center my aim a little better. I play at 800 DPI with a 6.0 sensitivity. A UA-camr named KhromeZee has an excellent guide for M&KB players. I am still a bot, but I manage okay as an old man in competitive lobbies despite poor server connections, rubberbanding, and cheaters.
FINALLY.... Someone who understands Aim assistance as a controller player. Im a through and through MnK player. Never touched a controller... But the later titles from mw2 and mw3 2022 and 2023 Really made me think i was forced to play on controller because aim assistance being cranked up to aimbot levels. I wished the developers would tone it down by 50% so MnK actually has a change to break aim assistance or at least outgun them with skills.
If its a controller game, why add aim sway and horizontal recoil? Doesn't make much sense to put in all of these things that don't affect the primary input in the game and only serve to nerf another input.
It's not just a controller game, Call of Duty is actively anti M&K input and has been for a while. Someone high up hates mouse and keyboard and designed it so.
As someone who's been a M & KB player for 40 years, I won't change to controller. I did okay in the beta; most issues are related to desync and poor servers. Yes, the SBMM was there, but M&KB felt terrible. I felt like I was aiming with salt in my eyes. And by the way, Newt, spare us the name Symfuhny; that guy's a cheating rat with zero respect for honest players.

I agree with all of this , 100 percent .. the funny thing is.. metaphor uploaded a UA-cam video yesterday. He randomly got matched up against Scump , Crowder, and another dude that was a former Atlanta faze CDL player.. he flat out stomped all of them .. that was impressive playing on mouse and keyboard and going up against the top controller players in the world like that and being the most dominant player in the lobby. But then again , metaphor is like a lot like strahfe, top one percent is in the world on mouse and keyboard for call of duty. I guess you have to be at that level to compete.

Controllers are broken, it doesn't matter how good you are in mnk.
Yeah, I don’t actually need to play the game to tell it is going to be harder for M&K than the last one. Movement is cranked up and aim assist stayed the same so controller players will have it easier to dodge bullets from M&K players (because tracking becomes harder) while they will be able to hit about as many shots as they used to. The close range nerf of aim assist will not really have a big impact because most fights happen outside the range anyway…
yea i watched. he is a monster in mnk. for me playing in MNK give me more fun, because it give my real skill. movement in controller is easier.
but i have the meaning if you are good controller player you will be also good in MNK, just do training for both inputs and have fun with both. IT IS JUST A GAME for US 🙂
I jumped on Xdefiant a few days ago and im enjoying it much more than BO6. Set it to input based match making so no controller players in my lobbies.
I haven't done too bad on BO6 but some of the aim assisted deaths i get are just frustrating. I am not going to buy a game that players can jump, slide and dive everywhere and still get ridiculous levels of aim assist.

You’re 100% right bro. I’m like lost with mouse and keyboard with this game but I refuse to go back to controller. I’m three years on mouse and keyboard consistently good on it for two years. I put too much work into it.

summed it up perfectly. i've been a m&k gamer since the early 2000's, been playing counter-strike since 2003. BO4 was my first cod on PC/m&k and my first cod since BO2 (i went heavy on cod in the xbox360 days.. cod4-bo2) so i have plenty of reps on controller. bo6 is easily the worst feeling cod for m&k yet... omnimovement was clearly made for only controllers in mind. not only that but theres so much weapon and player model bobbing/swaying in this game its sickening. also the aim assist "nerf" is laughable at best. my hope for warzone is at an all time low

Difference between mnk and controller is vast. I spent one day to get reacclimatized to controller (two hours) and my scores straight up DOUBLED. And I barely even had to try and control shots. The AA snaps on target and keeps you on target. All these movement mechanics don’t even matter really because they just have shots snap for them.
Im a MnK player as well, I could practice playing on controller but I just love keyboard, call of duty has always been a controller game sadly. I still had fun playing the beta
So I been watching your videos for a while especially when I started 4 years ago. Now I create content and everything myself. What I will say is to be great on this game on MNK it takes dedication and hard work especially against the controller. Takes a lot of practice. I came up with a good way to really practice in my aim trainers. It’s not that bad once you really locked in. Then thinking and knowing what I can do on Mnk it’s kind of not fair for them to go against us. Now if you a beginner mnk player it’s going to be rough. But if you got experience and really learn the capabilities on mnk along with some good aim training it’s really is. My personal opinion.
I can understand your decision, but i will never go back to roller i love flicking on big groups of people & hearing them react to it, i also maintain a 3-4 kd, if im not sweating or using meta.

I dont like using the meta or sweating either... But ive never been above a 3kd in my life. unless ive used the meta.

One of the main thiings that felt off to me was the ads transitioning. On pc when I went into the settings there were no instant setting in the ads transitioning option. There were only "Gradual and After fully aimed down sights". I'm sure Treyarch will fix this for the open weekend of the beta. If not then I guess I'll have to try controller. Tnx for the honest review homie.
Pro tip for controller after switching from MnK. or just to get better aim: Load up a private match and play against bots, turn aim assist off. Play until your aim feels pretty good. Turn it back on, youll see the aimbot controller has, your aim will be 10x better since you rely on aim assist less. Make a vid about it after you try it if it works.
100% I prefer MnK but that reality is that if Im getting slammed, I understand why. I have to work harder, try harder, aim harder (if thats a thing lol) just to do OK in MnK. Im no Mouse demon by any means but when I play on roller....its a different game. Its 'easier' in the sense that COD aim assist is designed to give the roller player a better experience. It is what it is. Like you said, play the input you want, but understand what comes with it. So far im playing the Beta on MnK but I have my roller ready if things go down hill.
Treyarch needs to optimize this game and warzone for M&K, or they will lose a huge chunk of their player base shortly after launch; it's that horrific. Treyarch isn't dumb; they realize M&K players are important stakeholders, and they need to make sure the game supports them, so it's baffling why the beta was launched in this condition.
I play on pc on both controller & m & k I have used Azeron keypad since mw2019 the Azeron cyborg 2 is absolutely perfect! I set my mouse at 4000 polling rate 1650 dpi 2.50 in game I have an awesome sniping clip best player of the game & top table it felt fantastic! I did okay with controller but this is the best of both worlds!
Yeah prolly, but for me I'm still sticking to MNK, I genuinely just don't find controller fun the same way I do MNK, if I suffer because of the movement, so be it, I think the movement is shit anyway
I actually like movement better on MnK. It feels way more natural to slide backwards. idk why. My only struggle is playing against aim assist. One micro flinch is a bullet missed and a lost gunfight.

I just think some games should either favor m&k or controller. I don't want to play on m&k. I don't care how good a game is, if I can't use controller, I don't want to play.
Every cod has been a controller game. However, I feel like this is the closest to balancing I've seen from a cod game in recent history between inputs. Omnimovement definitely feels strange in some scenarios tho
Mw2019 was the last cod imo to feel good on mnk
Bo6 feels like you have a 'weight' to your gun, not to mention the idle sway plus gun smoke/muzzle flash that adds to the difficulty of aiming, whereas controller has AA to mitigate all that. Throw in a somewhat lengthy TTK and it feels like mnk takes forever to kill and controller just insta drops you.
Boot up mw2019 and yeah feel a world of differences when it comes to aiming. Baffles me how 5 years ago felt better than current day cod
i played alot between both mouse and controller but once i upped my sens on mouse it became way easier but i always play better at slightly higher sens on tracking heavy games

was just about to buy the mouse acceleration thing from a previous video and then see this lol. I played controller for 15 years. Switched to MnK for 5 years and got just as good as controller. But the advantage controller has is crazy and it takes way less focus to play with the same skill. Annoying
Everything feels super delayed on kbm, to the point where like you said, you can't do certain movement tech.
Xdefiant feels much more better playing mnk. BO6 really frustrating

Black op 6 Mouse and keyboard feel great i been playing mouse and key since modern warfare 2019 to now and when i started playing bo6 at the beginning and it took me a lil while to get comfortable with it and it didn't take long at all to get everything down and starting whoopen everyone asses so no mouse and keyboard isn't that bad

Spent all this time on Kovaaks and getting good with KBM on MW3 and then I get on this game and it feels like all that time was wasted. Well I guess i'm switching to controller.
Time was not wasted because guess what other games that you play on kbam, cs, valorant, deadlock, shrouds new game.
Yeah don't worry I only said this cause I got destroyed and this popped up on my recommended. I'm gonna play a bit more passive and focus mid range to long range fights and utilize a bit more movement.
