@David Valenzuela Where do you live? In a food desert? Eating out costs like, $10-$20 a person where I’m from. I can make a couple meals with that amount.

truth. I tried losing a bit of weight (eating more fish, chicken, eggs; very little cheese or bread or peanut butter) and would get tired all the time. So tired matter a fact that I didn't even feel like eating despite being hungry.
Dudes, don’t cut out carbs; just incorporate whole grains instead of processed, like white bread or cakes or something. Whole grains like wheat and oats are really good for energy.

They didn't do reintroduction, which kind of defeats the purpose of the Whole30 - when you bring all the foods back at once you have no way of knowing what the culprit is if it affects your body in a particular way. Going through the 30 days and skipping reintroduction is a waste.

Soulless Raven But they didn't kick it to the curb, they went back to eating like they were before the Whole30 and they felt like crap. That could have been avoided if they had followed the program as intended.
To me what makes it worse is that none of them really seemed to understand the true medical intentions of the diet, my dietitian put me on an exclusion diet for 2 weeks due to health issues and told me that it's purely being done to help figure out what food/s make me ill... From my experience I don't think diets like this should be done 'just because' since you do lose a fair amount of weight and it can be bad for your health to just drop weight quickly. Also the comment on feeling crap after is exactly why they put in a reintroduction programme for the diet since your body gets used to not having all the processed crap in it so it's a shock to the system and your body doesn't know how to react to it properly.
Fromitz how long have you been in it. They are just asking you to eat real food. I've done it for two years and I seriously felt I was starving or very sick. That's why I ask how long.

They never said no natural sugar. They said real sugar, as in the sugar you would use in baking. Therefore fruits are allowed. The main problem with white potatoes, as the Whole30 team saw it, was less about what potatoes are than about the way potatoes are so often served - namely, in the form of chips and french fries. So you can still enjoy your potatoes, but not in the fatty ways they are usually served.

The whole point of Whole30 is to reduce inflammation...that's why they cut out the food items they do, they are generally the most likely to cause digestion and inflammation.

The reason none of these diets work out for these people in the long run is because they are so pessimistic about it.
Michele Jurkovic no because they're being honest about how the diet makes them feel. Rather than sugar coating it and indoctrinating people who probably can't afford it to do it because "it feels so good and you're terrible if you dont do it!", they are showing you the reality of what its going to be like.

Watching this video out of context with just the reactions of the participants, you would expect something horrible to be happening to them, instead, they miss donuts and chocolate. Give me a break.
To be honest, I think this is a really good showcase of what processed food and sugar tends to do to your brain. Thinking about nothing but candy and sugar and processed junk when you can't have them shows that these things are physically and mentally addictive in a terrible way.
watching these videos make me glad that I grew up in a strict Chinese household. My mum never allow us to buy and have packaged food/canned good/snacks/soda at home growing up. And as a typical Chinese family, my mum will visit the wet market for fresh ingredients everyday and cook for us everyday. I am so glad that I never have much cravings to struggle. Even though I am an adult now, and I can totally buy my own grocery, I still feel kinda “bad” or “guilty” if I bring cookies/ice cream home? Can someone out there relate to this lol?
it's funny because I stopped eating refined sugar 6 months ago and after less than one week I was like '' cured '' form sugar. I didn't want to eat sugar anymore, or very rarely. My tongue also became a '' sugar detector '' and I was able to detect all the sugar in food that I would't taste before. After 6 months my body feels great and except for rare occasions, I don't eat sugar anymore. I eat a lot of fruits but you know, it's natural sugar. Also limited my carbs consumption and I drink a least 2 water liter everyday :)
Hi ! well, i never ate a lot of sugar so it was pretty easy for me. I also stopped drinking sodas 8 years ago, when I was 15 yo. I spoke with my brother who knows a lot about diet and he told me, among other things, that nowadays we all eat too much sugar (if you read the food composition on what you buy you'll see! sugar is everywhere, it's crazy). I'm not a professional, but maybe if you want to reduce your sugar consumption, try to reduce little things step by step. 2 cookies not 4, black chocolate instead of milk one. Drink water or fresh juice (not fruit juice from store, they are full of sugar). You have to find what fits you! I allow myself sometimes some cookies just because i want to! you should never deprive yourself from food you want. I really think that balance is the key. Being frustrated about our diet is the best way to eat wrong. What helped me when i started, was not having some temptation at home. I knew that if I had a box of cookies, I would eat it in once. So maybe try to remplace your '' temptation food '' with fruits or less sugar alternatives! I hope I helped you a little bit! take care and don't forget to drink enough water, its essential for your body health :)
Sugar in fruit is still sugar. Fruit just happens to be the healthiest way to consume sugar, but chemically, a fruit's sugar is basically the same as your table sugar.
I did whole 30. Loved the salmon cucumber dill recipe, found some different ways to cook things, etc. However, I didn't find it was cheaper at all. Produce can be quite expensive, and my grocery bill went way up. Also, I found I spent so much of my day cooking food. I was glad it was a 30 day challenge, because the whole thing was really not sustainable. I did learn a little along the way. It really sucked for unavoidable food related events, such as a wedding, etc., and the only thing you can eat is the salad, no dressing 😒
Are you sure you ate enough? I personally lost 20 Pounds my first round, but I was intentionally working out intensely and counting calories. The other times I’ve only lost like 3-5 pounds. No shade, just curious. It’s super important to eat enough, and it’s sometimes more food than you think. I know I would eat like 5 different veggies for lunch and be in a calorie deficit and I was struggling to finish my meals Bc it was so nutrient dense especially at the beginning.
it annoys me how no one's talking about how we're obviously all addicted to bad foods and that's really important because we all know how difficult it is to get over addictions and how long it takes
yes. i agree. it's good people are waking up. i used to be so very addicted to sugar. candy, chocolate, ice cream. was so bad that i really felt it was an addiction. i googled how to kick it, i bought a sugar free cook book, i cleansed, i tried many things.... eventually the only thing that fixed my addiction was going vegan. even tho my transition took a year, and some things were easy to stop craving and others were more difficult, that was the best decision i ever made. i believe that having others outside yourself as a reason for getting rid of bad foods is more of a motivation than just answering to yourself
Well done guys so inspirational! Yeah crazy hard when it's so easy to just go and grab something unhealthy and no one stops us or questions us. Vegan 100% is one of the best ways and if we treat it more as a way to get over addictions to certain foods people would have more respect for how hard it is and why it takes so much work to accomplish :)
Giana Falacco came to see this comment ! I love how they're always evolving and trying new things, getting out of their comfort zone. Truly inspiring !
Hahaha can you imagine doing this in college??? Like during the summer maybe but like during the month of finals??? Haha hahahahaha I'm laughing so hard I would literally kermitt
I live this everyday and I'm in college. It's a little time consuming, but not impossible. You just have to use your time wisely. I prep for most of the week on Sunday afternoon.
I feel like one of the reasons it’s so hard for normal, everyday Americans do these challenges is because we’ve become so accustomed to the lifestyle of where it’s easy to be unhealthy and get fast foods, chips, and candy in the convenience store down the block. I think this is why we have a high obese rate unlike Asia. In Asia, you don’t walk into a 7-11 and immediately see sweet snacks. You see actual food (that might be frozen). You see food chain stores but you see even more healthy, authentic restaurants. In Asia, it’s easier to make a healthy choice.
My husband is from Sweden and a lot of his diet revolved around dairy and bread growing up. It seems like sugar isn't added to everything there. I visited Sweden and Denmark for 10 days and lost 5 pounds. American food is full of sugar and salt, so our taste buds have adapted. I found food to be super bland there, but I know it's because of my American diet, not that the food was bad or anything. Junk food is so cheap here. My husband didn't even have fast food until he was a teenager.
I did the whole 30. It was torture. I felt like I had the flu throughout. I was definitely detoxing. But after all was done and over. I learned I was lactose and my taste buds was never the same. I use to load my food with lots of flavor but now I appreciate the natural flavor and am really sensitive to salt.
Jazz deserves more credit for trying all of these different diets despite her past eating disorder(s) I still get super overwhelmed if my diet is jarred too much
That's what I don't get, like couldn't you basically live off that, with minimal small meals at home? Like if I worked at BF, I'd be spending very very little on food
Actually scientifically there is no reason to avoid legumes other than not eating them directly before bed because they require energy to digest and can keep you awake longer. Any stored/canned/fermented food runs the risk of mold but that risk is quite literally less than 1 in 500,000 if stored properly. Legumes can be an excellent source of protein and fiber.
I have been doing whole 30 for a month now and I am starting to get use to not eating bad food . Every now and then I want cheese but besides that I feel good. I do get dessert but it is natural sugar popsicals. Just blend some fruit together and put it in a popsicle container then you have popsicles😀😀
The idea of excluding whole grains and, even worse, legumes and instead eating a bunch of purified butter, white potatoes and about 10 eggs a day and thinking that's healthy is so weird
White potatoes are basically handled by your body as refined carbs are. They don't do much for you, don't have a ton of nutrients most people are lacking, spike your blood sugar, etc. ... They are okay, but whole grains and legumes or sweet potatoes are a lot better.
Rosa L You and I are really healthy. my wife and I eat a lot of poultry and veggies and limit the junk. I work part time in a grocery store and other people's diets are ridiculous. so much processed and packaged food.
AtreidesHeir Shouldn't working in a grocery store also show you how much more food the cheaper/worse for you food is especially for broke people with families? 🙄 That's what it showed me.
I do the same... 50% of my cart is fruit and veggies, only fresh not from a bag. Then some cheese, meat, bread, and yoghurt. Then I go to the processed food section and literally only take a bag of chips and some soda, that's it.
I’m doing this diet right now. For 6 days now. And I’ve lost a little weight. I’m actually so happy, I wake up and I’m not feeling completely disgusting. It’s honestly so good. It is also a good thing if you want to start a diet, you can do this diet to get a head start which will help you get rid of your cravings for sugar.
I broke on day 13 because I kind of just rushed into it not really thinking about how hard it was going to be I would suggest to mentally prepare youself for it and start slow by taking a few things at a time out of your diet a month before and then start the 30 days when you feel ready but overall it made me feel energized and I learned how to cook for myself there are also a few restaurants that are whole 30 approved in case you get tired of cooking.

To be honest, I think this is a really good showcase of what processed food and sugar tends to do to your brain. Thinking about nothing but candy and sugar and processed junk when you can't have them shows that these things are physically and mentally addictive in a terrible way.
Me when I eat one baby carrot:
SO HEALTH
VEGEDABLES
LMAO
Omg same 😂😂
No that's me. I ate one salad for 4 days and I'm like: *WHY THE HELL AM I NOT SKINNY BRUH LIKE I ATE SALADS.*
I love baby carrots so when I open a bag I eat like half the bag so I don’t get poisoned lol
its funny how they made an attempt to blur out the middle fingers ( they didn't do too well) but at 3:00 jazzmyne's glasses had middle fingers on it
Annalitha Kumar lol tru
watching these videos make me glad that I grew up in a strict Chinese household.
Lol me
it's funny because I stopped eating refined sugar 6 months ago and after less than one week I was like '' cured '' form sugar.
Lisa Messikommer thanks for this , I'll try it too
how did you start it? can you share a bit of experience with me? 'cause i also wanna leave sugar but I'm too addicted to it..
Hi ! well, i never ate a lot of sugar so it was pretty easy for me.
I did this too!!
Allyson Wheeler did you lose any weight?
Patrice Campbell short term? I lost a little. Long term? I put it back and more 😂
Allyson Wheeler lol thnx!
how about adjusting the recipes to fit whats cheap in your area?Like choosing veggies that are in season
It was cheaper for them because buzzfeed paid for their food! Organic produce is incredibly expensive
I tried this. I lost 10 lbs and me hardcore dad lost 30. Bruh
Grace Chatham thank you for sharing that! I was wondering, nobody in the video discussed weight loss!
bruh
Are you sure you ate enough? I personally lost 20
Pounds my first round, but I was intentionally working out intensely and counting calories.
Tan slaying in those heels!!
Ellen Chen 153 likes!
YES SHE IS! I was wondering if anyone else noticed that. If I recall she wasn't much a fan of heels until she was in some video
What time did she wear them in the vid?
Moroti Adewole While they were talking to Bryana
Jazz and Tan are slaying in their heels😫❤
Daniel Greenberg what
Right!!! I wasn’t expecting them on Tan, but they look glorious!!!!
Emy Anderson It was the concept for another video. That’s why they’re wearing heels
I was gonna say "did anybody else notice Tan wearing heels?" lol but this cleared that up so thanks. I figured it wasn't really her everyday style
I did the Whole30 once, and honestly I felt frickin' amazing. I might do it again soon.
it annoys me how no one's talking about how we're obviously all addicted to bad foods and that's really important because we all know how difficult it is to get over addictions and how long it takes
yes. i agree. it's good people are waking up.
i used to be so very addicted to sugar. candy, chocolate, ice cream. was so bad that i really felt it was an addiction. i googled how to kick it, i bought a sugar free cook book, i cleansed, i tried many things....
eventually the only thing that fixed my addiction was going vegan. even tho my transition took a year, and some things were easy to stop craving and others were more difficult, that was the best decision i ever made.
i believe that having others outside yourself as a reason for getting rid of bad foods is more of a motivation than just answering to yourself
Grace Mina Sunda sugar is so terrifyingly addictive
It's extremely hard but I've overcome my addiction to sugar and I'm so proud of myself. Intermittent fasting helps a lot with it xx
Jennifer♥ intermittent fasting is great! So glad you've found something that works for you
Omg tan is in heels yesssss
Giana Falacco came to see this comment ! I love how they're always evolving and trying new things, getting out of their comfort zone. Truly inspiring !
was from the video where ppl who dont wear heels wore heels
i love how they went through this whole video without ever explaining what whole30 is???
Luna Hagmayer at the beginning they did
Not really
They did?
pay attention at the beginning people sksksk
3:00 I love Jazz's glasses
Hahaha can you imagine doing this in college??? Like during the summer maybe but like during the month of finals??? Haha hahahahaha I'm laughing so hard I would literally kermitt
I’m gonna try it during college so we’ll see! Wish we luck...but yeah I’d never try it during finals.
I’ve actually done this during college! It’s not fun.
I live this everyday and I'm in college. It's a little time consuming, but not impossible. You just have to use your time wisely. I prep for most of the week on Sunday afternoon.
Two words. Salad bar
I tried doing a diet during finals had a legit mental breakdown.
My family barely goes out to eat.....The only thing we buy from restaurant or whatever is pizza.....
what a boring tough life u r living
Min Yoongi eating for entertainment is mental illness, your already showing signs of it
Her name is jazz? She must be the Axeman

Jared: "Bye, salmon! Good luck!"
Me: *heart fills with joy*
This diet seems easy.
I've grown up eating lots of vegetables and fruits. And I normally cook my own food.
#Sweden🇸🇪
My husband is from Sweden and a lot of his diet revolved around dairy and bread growing up. It seems like sugar isn't added to everything there. I visited Sweden and Denmark for 10 days and lost 5 pounds. American food is full of sugar and salt, so our taste buds have adapted. I found food to be super bland there, but I know it's because of my American diet, not that the food was bad or anything. Junk food is so cheap here. My husband didn't even have fast food until he was a teenager.
Astrid Ljung me too
danakscully64 That's very true! I'm from Denmark
Hejjjjjj!!!!!
Unicorn Happiness Hejhej (:
am I the only person that read the title and thought they'd be shopping at whole foods?
I did the whole 30. It was torture. I felt like I had the flu throughout. I was definitely detoxing. But after all was done and over. I learned I was lactose and my taste buds was never the same. I use to load my food with lots of flavor but now I appreciate the natural flavor and am really sensitive to salt.
watching other people dieting while eating junk food. Who else?
I ate a chicken burger, a double cheeseburger and fries while watching this
+ShroomWalrus that's at least 1,200 calories...
1,470 to be exact (i checked off the restaurants website)
ShroomWalrus why would you do that to yourself
unless you have a binge eating disorder
Cause I don't care about my health?
Great job at the editing 0:16
Low key I started whole30 and watch this when I feel weak 😂
Who else noticed the heels 👠 from the "women who hate heels wear them for a day" video #iamalwaysonbuzzfeed
Jeffrey Nkolo me!
Jeffrey Nkolo if u watch the vid about the shoes it shows that she was doing the shoe challenge the same day she was talking to the girl
Jeffrey Nkolo hurts my eyes..
Jeffrey Nkolo she was recently on a video shoot where people who hate high heals wear them lol
@henry latschislaw: And...? So what?
Jazz deserves more credit for trying all of these different diets despite her past eating disorder(s) I still get super overwhelmed if my diet is jarred too much
"All I can think about is bagels." Same.
Okay does buzz feed always have free food or do they purposely have them when their employees are dieting ??
Minnn they get free food two days a week, Freddie mentioned it in a ladylike budgeting video
Katy Sansum how do you work there?
She is right, they get free food a couple times a week but they have a fully stocked pantry at work too.
That's what I don't get, like couldn't you basically live off that, with minimal small meals at home? Like if I worked at BF, I'd be spending very very little on food
Why no legumes?? I would not survive without legumes
haley street I was wondering that too. Its whole food
Because they are following a hight fat, low/none carbs
Legumes are hard to break down. Also highly allergenic and tend to contain mold.
Many people don't digest well beans, dairy and grains.
Ghee is super cheap at Trader Joes
amberdoe hhhhj
AWWW NIKI IS GETTING MARRIEDDD
MOCHI- MOCHI hello there
helter skelter I feel like she would look ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS in a wedding dress
'Bye salmon, good luck' 😄
That was adorable.
😂
Cute.
It's something my 3 year old niece might say.
Oh this comment of yours did not receive that many likes
Tan is so fecking adorable and cool at the same time, and it's just the best thing ever.
I have been doing whole 30 for a month now and I am starting to get use to not eating bad food . Every now and then I want cheese but besides that I feel good. I do get dessert but it is natural sugar popsicals. Just blend some fruit together and put it in a popsicle container then you have popsicles😀😀
6:58 me on my period
DUDE SAME I'LL EAT LIKE 5 NUTELLA SANDWHICHES
Natalie Bieber that's just me all the time lmao

ALL THE CHOCOLATE, all the tea, all the coffee, all the time. For serious.
Lightly dying!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like great band name! Great vid ya'll
The idea of excluding whole grains and, even worse, legumes and instead eating a bunch of purified butter, white potatoes and about 10 eggs a day and thinking that's healthy is so weird
I agree with what you said about the eggs and butter, but white potatoes are good for you. Not as much as sweet potatoes though.
White potatoes are basically handled by your body as refined carbs are. They don't do much for you, don't have a ton of nutrients most people are lacking, spike your blood sugar, etc. ... They are okay, but whole grains and legumes or sweet potatoes are a lot better.
If you're only eating those three things, then you're doing it wrong.
Do people not shop pretty much like this as a norm? Like probably with more bread and a couple of snacks?? Or am I just really healthy
Rosa L You and I are really healthy. my wife and I eat a lot of poultry and veggies and limit the junk. I work part time in a grocery store and other people's diets are ridiculous. so much processed and packaged food.
I was thinking the same thing. This is how I eat a good amount of the time, especially if I'm broke. It's a lot cheaper to eat that way.
4 : 21 "I've had three food nightmares in 7 days"Lmao !!!!
I had two so far. Day 22 of whole 30.
I love tan so much
Oh! you blured middle finger now I don't Know which finger it was at what it means😑😑😑
3:57 I’m on a diet and I seriously saw this and drooled!
"This is a lot of food and it will take me two to three meals to eat."
Why would it take me one meal to blow through that 😂
Crystal M. It was not a lot at all lol
“it’s called lightly dying” Bryana a looked so offended when jazz said that it was so funny 😂
Tan wears heals now😲😲
Yakelyn Estrada I guess so...
When you’re Indian
And like ghee is the MOST common ingredient
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I’d like to see more. The participants were fabulous!
Guys tan is 10/10 I love her.
Unknown she's so hot I'm shook
Unknown you could say she's tan/tan
“all I want is french fries and chicken nuggets!” SAAAMME
Love how the middle finger was slightly blurred ha
Like we don't know what it was. Buzzfeed really
I eat line that since 2016
Some of these diets that I see on buzzfeed I would try myself. Like this lowkey looked so good
Jared reminds me of Phil so muchhh😭
I'll do this in the winter. For now I'm going to drink and party my summer away.
ajaaniajaa But what about Christmas parties. And cookies and big dinners. And pie. And those cute themed donuts at Dunkin.
"My energy level has been kinda all over the place...just like my emotions..." ME
I couldn't even be able to do this for 30 mins
Me me me me Memes I can. Just eat a lot of bread and go to sleep for 30 mins. 😉
you can't eat breadd on this diet
technically.... potatoes are on whole30...
Jared has a strong resemblance to JG Quintel. Every time I saw him I thought about Regular Show lol
Can you guys bring back the old intro and outro of buzzfeed i miss it 😓
