@@thegray0 It's a theory put forth by Dan Gibson. While I am not convinced that Muhammad was from Petra, there are lots of problems with the idea that he was from what is now called Mecca. For one thing, all the earliest mosques do not point towards Mecca, but to the north, in the vicinity of Jordan. This is a problem for the traditional Islamic narrative that the qibla was changed to Mecca during Muhammad's life. Muslims will say they point to Jerusalem, but again, that does't make sense of the qibla was changed during Muhamamd's life. Other evidence are the physical descriptions of Mecca in Bukhari and in the siras. They match Petra very well, but do not match modern Mecca at all.
The nabatins they came from Crete and Greek Turkish land and they stayed there it was mixed cultural religious place for Muslims Christians and unbelievers in fact Islam starts from there.
Where did you read that? Historians actually uncovered the facts that they were most likely from the south end of Arabia and possibly as far south as Yeman... maybe you should research that again.
