  • Phoebe Waller-Bridge is quickly becoming a brand name in Hollywood. Her Amazon Prime breakout hit “Fleabag” was recognized for its anticipated second season with 11 Emmy nominations, and BBC America’s “Killing Eve,” which she created based on Luke Jennings’ “Codename Villanelle” mystery series, was recognized with nine. That’s not to mention a recent acting stint in “Solo: A Star Wars Story” and her being tapped to pen the 25th James Bond feature, due next year. Sitting with Backstage senior editor Benjamin Lindsay at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Robin Williams Center on Aug. 7, 2019, she deep-dove on her process and revealed just how you, too, can do it all.

I was gonna say the same thing. This interview gave me so much more knowledge about the process of writing and acting in your own work than other interviews I see of PWB which ask the same repetitive Qs.

the hungover and tired thing is specially funny and truthful considering Jodie Comer also got the role of Villanelle after auditioning hungover.
I just wish Phoebe would talk forever, everything that comes out of her mouth is so precious.

Wow. So many dickheads. Some people don’t know how to pronounce names they don’t often say? He looked nervous as well and did a very good job. I would have done the same. And he asked brilliant questions. If the interviewer ever reads these comments I want you to know you did great. Ignore these rude, ignorant people. You got up there and did that!

Funny that PW-B created "Fleabag" and can't seem to stop scratching herself.

She can but the story is complete as it is. If there is a 3rd, there has to be more story that doesn't repeat what's done already...

Turns out she is very, very good - at destroying already established franchises, and yet they keep hiring her. It looks like Tomb Raider is the next victim.

Trying growing up + consider the impact she is having for people who didn't grow up as male fan boys. Do you seriously search for old unrelated videos to make such stupid, ill-informed and unconsidered comments.

Go ahead honey, create you own work. But don't whine if the customers think it is bad. Phoebe is what happens when an actor has a hit and then get full of herself.
