@Adam Benelhachemi Yes he did, but Leon did an amazing job evading laterally and recovering. It was honestly the only moment Nate had the entire fight. Leon won 4 rounds to 1 easily.
Kamaru did not look the same. Was very hesitant with almost everything. Props to him for keeping his usual pressure, but it wasn't effective unfortunately. I do believe he can come back from this, but not sure if he'll find the motivation at this point. If he decides he can retire and everyone should salute this man for the run he's had! 100% Hall of Fame material!
Hesitant because he has to watch out for the head kick.. Leon goes to the legs and body and Usman knows he tried to set up the head kick so he was on defensive up top for 5 rounds.. what's more, he couldn't keep Leon down for a long time so he was frustrated as well to have to play stand up game and guard the head.
He didn't look as imposing, he always seemed bigger than that, against Covington he seemed huge , tonight he didn't look the same guy , I think its psychological , as he just didn't seem the same.
Moaning a lot as well , couple of low blows and some tugging of the gloves , but it felt like an excuse , a troubled fight always looks to the ref
He lost his explosiveness. His takedown attempts were reliant on pure strength
He should be motivated to be champion again, he held the belt for 9 years, he thought he could beat everyone and the LHW champion, then Leon came and that was it

That was the most BORING fight ever. The anticipation, crowd, and atmosphere was great.. but I kept falling asleep during it
We knew Usman had to get in early for the takedown. Edwards followed the striking game plan not dominant in damage nor way finishing the fight.
Game plan was executed better than Usman plan.
I don't know why he could out strike Edwards. Should of did his bread and butter.

Takedown defence & kicks really were the story of the fight. I had it 48-46 edwards personally .

Love how people thought "Usman won't make the headkick mistake again" wasn't going to open up so many other avenues for attack.
Leon had his absolute way with kicks partly because Usman never knew when the one coming over the top was and was absolutely terrified of it (not the trauma, but just in terms of not wanting to lose to a man twice that way on global television).

Gotta watch round 2 and 3 again, but yeah I also thought Leon won despite the point deduction. Technical masterclass on the feet and Usman didn't really get many takedowns nor did he make his only ones count for much. I am surprised though how Leon has improved with his takedown defence. He had to fight dirty but he got the job done in the end. Very smart.

Didn't do much of it. Didn't impact the fight, in fact, him fighting dirty helped Usman way more than it did Leon.

Genuinely shocked the way Usman fought this. Every time they separated clinch he ate a knee to the face, and he kept like flailing his arms wildly after breaking clinch as well. Ridiculous winging looping shots the whole fight. Idk I think he’s cooked man. Imagine if this version of Usman fought Colby? He would have lost
Usman didn't have anything else other than a few takedowns that paid no dividends (which then turned into pathetic attempts that Edwards defended) and a few good moments of striking. That's it...
