On the screen you recommended serviceberry as an alternative to Bradford Pear. Another great native alternative is fringe tree (chionanthus virginicus). Absolutely gorgeous. There are some planted around the parking lot outside UT Gardens in Knoxville. I’m planting only natives at my new house simply because there are many beautiful choices.
Bermuda Grass was planted in my yard by the contractor's 'landscaper' instead of K-31 grass that was supposed to be planted. This Bermuda Grass is taking over everything and when I asked about it, was told it was a non-native and invasive plant. I would love for that to be banned.
How b can you control what birds eat. At the time of migration when birds fly to other countries and eat their native berries and fruit and then come back to America and bring seeds with them , unfortunately there is not much you can do .
very informative and helpful! thanks for sharing!!

I have a fringe tree after I was told about it. It's a young plant that I have in a container since I may be moving and want to take it with me.
