I've had two ps5's fail without any outside trauma. I sometimes had to just lightly touch the hdmi cable in order to to allow it to work. After replacing the cables , (data not charge) it yielded the same result. So instead of replacing the hdmi cap, ic encoder etc... I decided to try and replace the port for experience and I must of watched 20 videos of others doing it and I couldn't find a single one that had sound doctrine or specified what correct items needed to properly diagnose and repair the system correctly, until I found yours. Excellent video and instructions. You handled it like a BOSS! Thanks so very much for putting your video online. It's extremely beneficial for many people looking to do it correctly. Great job!
Super video!!! Awesome video and sound quality just perfect!! and the work itself was professional. Loving it. Sub'd and liked. Keep up the good work and the followers will surely be coming soon enough.
Bro you helped me fix my ps5 much love ill be following your page n liking
BIG JOB FOR SIMPLE OBJECTIF
You got a subscriber I love watching people work well and enjoy themselves doing it.
Great work🙏
Good work :)
With these video's I have been learning this skill picking up tips and tricks to get comfortable with taking these and other devices apart worst iv ever had to fix was the MS surface Pros absolute nightmare fuel.
Your not kidding. Its criminal how difficult it is to fix something that is so easy to break on its own
Very informative
thanks for nice video!
skilled master
Por lo visto es mejor dejar la PS5 en horizontal pará su uso . Buen vídeo. Gracias
Good!
Hola! Veo que no cambiaste la pasta térmica de las memorias. Cuidado con eso. Buen video. Saludos
thanks
Hi. do you know the value of the diode next to the HDMI. on the board im repairing it is missing and in straggle to find ani info on it (diode )
t what about these other small components with thermal paste? Is it possible to change that thermal paste? My PS5 is heating up even after changing the cooler, so I am sort of guessing these small thermal paste over these components is fried or something, their texture look a bit dry. But what is heating up are the side parts until the heat get to the front USB which I believe isn't good for the overall hardware even though the CPU isn't giving a heat warning.
Very good job done. I am just wondering why you didn't clean the fan before returning it to the console at 10:00 😃
You have exchanged liquid metal for a new one. And why didn't the thermal pads be replaced with new ones?
When i must replace the liquid metal from processor on a PS5? My son used something like 2 and half years and i just clean the dust on console.
I have to do this operation, but shouldn't the foam around the liquid metal be changed? thanks
just clean the mount holes before placement !!!!
hey! Ive done three of these ports, and every time, the Front USB daughterboard stops working. is there a known reason for this? (yes, i ensure they are attached correctly through the flex)
Nice video what do you use to clean the liquid metal
That's what i call a first class service

how much degree of temperature do you set on hot air gun? thank you
i noticed it took a long time today when I did a hdmi desolder on a test ps5 board. Heating from the back, kapton over the diodes on the back. it did come out, with no pads pulled. But man it took forever i was afraid i was gonna damage it. Your technique of heating from the top... I almost tried that today but I was worried about those small caps around the pins. Now that i see it can be done i may experiment with that approach too. Thanks for the good video.
Hello! I would like to buy from your store im in Czechia. I would like to ask if lets say i order a wii u, does it come with correct plug?
hey please make a video on ps5 disc drive repair.
Hola amigo disculpa donde están ubicados me interesa un chequeo de mi consola 5
I heard that you don’t need to replace the Liquid Metal and can just reuse it how long do the Liquid Metal’s last before you actually do need to put new Liquid Metal
Why you leave the cooler full of dust
Does replacing the liquid metal fix the gpu artifacts on screen? I recently started to see christmas lights and artifacts on ps5 exclusive games.
Check to see if your PS5 is full of dust
Liquid metal should last 10 years at least, if dust isn't the problem then they probably fucked up during the manufacturing process
What about northridgefix
Mi piacerebbe farlo anche io🙃
inter cooler clean please :(
Can you not just put bead in middle like a thermal paste then put heatsink on and let spread naturally?
Haven't tried it yet. When it comes to something like a PS5 repair, the perfectionist part of me doesn't like to take chances!
Liquid metal and thermal compound act very different to gravity
It's best to spread liquid metal with q tip
Why replace the liquid metal? If its liquid still you can just spread it around to ensure that it makes proper contact.
If it was a personal fix I would agree with you, but we do these repairs as a business and prefer to leave nothing to chance! But you are correct, this liquid metal doesn't degrade the same way a regular thermal compound would.
😁🤙top
Great work. How much does that work cost. Piece price and changing cost Thanks
We charge $120 for the repair itself, the HDMI port and liquid metal can be found for roughly $35-40 depending on sales tax.
@@GamestoreAF In my shop i charge 120€ too.
When people bring the PlayStation 5 to my shop, they think I have to fix it for free!
They say, it's easy I see it fixed by some technicians on UA-cam easily.
My answer is always the same; Fix it yourself!
Why do you need to spend 120 € in my shop for something you can fix yourself with a video guide on UA-cam? !!! 😹
08:14 нанести новую жидкую термопрокладку? - и тааак сойдёёёёт
PlayStation 5 um só HDMI difícil
Nada AV como
What about dirty fan?
That gets blown out off camera. The PS5 shell is super easy to remove so there is some behind the scenes work once the camera stops rolling.
camera shakes a lot
is this fixable ? ua-cam.com/video/PydksjIQIn4/v-deo.html if so what do i need to do?? the pads are gone
That's unfortunate, unfortunately it does look like a lot of your pad connections have been removed. In order to fix that you would have to find replacements for the components that have gone missing, then attach those to the broken traces with some micro-wire. I'll be honest this is a tricky one to work back from.
Ni a mi peor enemigo le recomendaría comprar esa consola
Que absurdo, voltou com a fan cheia de poeira pro lugar, não ia perder um minuto passando o pincel. Lastimável.
Много лишней движухи
hdmi port swap ! or playstation 5 blue light of death !no video signal ! no cpu socket,no extra cooling, reball cpu chip.... amd or sony it is problem ??no extra SSD
Nowadays, no one company manufactures things to last. PS, Xbox, Nintendo, all fail and is unacceptable that they die in less than 1 year of use, and regarding to Gamepads/controllers are, even worst. Planned obsolescence?
It seems that the user of that ps5 does not take care of his things, so that the HDMI connector has been damaged, he must have hit the console
Planned obsolescence i.e. encoder chips blocking you from swapping parts. There would be a shitload more of these in circulation of hot swapping parts was possible. So why go out of your way to prevent that? If the console lasted 10 years, great, but they barley last 2. Its a shame. I dont know why we have to buy the arcade but still have to put in someone elses tokens.
How hot is your hot air gun
1 year Life 🤣🤣🤣 excelent design sony
It was a damaged HDMI port, nothing to to with Sony. Happens on Xbox too. The owner caused the damage, it didn't just bend itself.
@@conradladouceur7557 read the tittle of the video. Broken HDMI and REPLACE LIQUID METAL. Xbox haven't liquid metal, this metal fail and have problems (3 years Max.?) Ok Bro, perfecto design .
he replaced the liquid metal by choice, there was no issue @@miguelrevo

good video with bad video editing
And religion does not allow cleaning the fan from dust?
considering you are a professional you made a naive error with the fan of the ps5 one of its screw holes doesn't have a screw in it as the threads in which it gets tightened you put a silver screw there which doesn't belong there so I'd suggest take it apart and attach the fan screw and it can have issues if not done
professional repairing, but the lack of fan cleaning ruind the whole video. IMHO
you need to improve the camera man....... zoom in zoom out, move a lot, speed video up and down... its makes not a pleasure to watch. use more them 1 camera, them edit video. its better even less quality. (well that was my feeling seeing the video), static parts are perfect. hi quality and good light.
Trash station V
no wonder xbox is ahead with this crap hardware that has the trash station

Heat is necessary but at the same time, heat it's the enemy. Too much heat or heating time, pads can be broken and other components can move out of place. Sometimes people with a lot of experience can do things in a certain way with certain tools and still end up with good results. But, people with short experience doing it that way can lead this procedure as a nightmare.
Tip: You should clear the holes with the copper wick for easier connector placement and minimize the heating exposure time. The pin alignment is more important than the holding legs. Depending on the board, if any plastic or close surface mount parts are too close, cover it with some material to shield the direct heat. I like to have the connector in place and secured, with the pins perfectly aligned, then apply some air heat to the pins. Once the pins are soldered in place, then I solder each of the support legs with the iron. By doing that, normally you do not need touchup and guarantee each pin is flat on the board. But if touchup's is necessary, I do recommend the iron have a smaller tip and without additional solder paste, reheat each pin. It's too risky to pass that bigger tip iron across touching multiple pins with solder. If you are not careful, not only create easy bridges, by removing those bridges, that iron that size can transfer too much heat and damage the pads under. If you do not have too much experience, find an old board and do a practice test.
True, at this point I probably rely on better equipment just a tad more than I used to in the past. Temperature is much more controlled and reliable with my current setup. But that was not always the case for me and I soldered with a much cheaper rework station and iron. During those years Kapton tape was my best friend and used on nearly every project. Same with alignment, much easier to get pins lined up directly over pads with a 200x magnification on my side. Heat is a friend and enemy if this is an early project for anyone, start with low heat and work your way up to a setting that works for you. The Technician has great points in his comment, I appreciate the time taken to point them out. Always tread carefully when working on expensive motherboards!
Great tips thank you for sharing.
The best tip whatever your equipment…practice on junk boards and get to know your equipment. Never try something like this without some practice on removing / replacing plastic connectors on things that don’t matter.
