Json shot this video in one of thee most dangerous parts of Miami known as the Poke N Bean Projects. Literally they were shooting and the police were chasing people, knocking on doors and etc during the hood scenes. Those polices were not props lol. Much respect to Json for letting his light shine in a dark place! Oh yeah the video is dope lol 100
Don't think it shoulda bothered him too much though . That he came from some of the worst neighborhoods in St.louis "queens" next to walnut park and not to far from west end and fountain park .
The hood needs to hear music like this. Personally I know how hard it is to take the word to the hood because of the what goes on there but Jesus has to get glory for Himself. May the LORD bless you with more and more in Him.
IDK why people are hating. Paul said I had to be like them so they could understand what I had to preach to them. Json is not bragging about being a dope dealer, he is thanking God and glorifying Him by saving him from what he could have been, The bible says do all things for the glory of God and seek not your own glory. All this video is pointing to is God saved me, Im a preacher man so let the Good Lord RISE, LampMode I got this is dope. I resonate with this, lets the light shine in the darkst of places.
If you are not preaching or sharing the word of God in the projects in your state or bad neighborhoods, because you're afraid, or its not your calling, then take a step back and let those who are suffering in such environments receive the message. THEY NEED TO HEAR IT TOO.
Glory to God fam!! Many won't understand this message if they didn't come from the hood but I can relate and love it!! Keep speaking the whole truth bro! Salute
Thankful for music that is real and I can use in my hood and show cats what the God I serve can do!! Keep at it Lampmode! The hood is listening! Thankful for music that is real and I can use in my hood and show cats what the God I serve can do!! Keep at it Lampmode! The hood is listening! #ROMANS10:14
This joint EXTRA hood, lol. Always dug Json's cuts like this. Kudos to the director and editors on this vid. Will Thomas is the CHH Hype WIlliams, lol.
what the heck!? are yall serious this brother is giving his testimony why are yall condemning him this what the Lord said don't do in Matthew 7...he said now the world is calling me preaching man meaning he is transformed...smh Paul gave his testimony the same about how he us to crucify the body of Christ then testified how God changed him this is what j'son is doing... he isn't being like the others compromising and having secular rappers on his song this testimony encourages others that if he did it they can do it..
This song is so real for me and my family. Thanks LampMode and Json for being courageous enough to put it out. People who don't have this testimony won't understand, and that's ok.
Great video. Even better song. The redemptive nature of Christ at work in a man's life is a beautiful thing. I love it when an artist gets real and transparent. Solo Deo Gloria.
Let the brother testify look here people the bible study states we will overcome the devil by the blood of the lamb and the power of our testimon......Json this song is going innnnnn big up to Mounty G Everyone has a testimon noone was born served
I understood the message being conveyed here. I believe some of our brothers are not paying enough attention to lyrics. Keep up the good work lampmode and Json. Your art is a blessing to many of us. In Christ, Gib Ham Indianapolis
I just love how honest some of the Hip-Hop/Rap artist are recently. They know their past, they know they're forgiven. Thanks Json, I'm probably going to add 1,000 views to this video in the next week alone.
Great music and honesty! Only 10 more days till the album arrives. Now I'm just hoping Lampmode comes back to phoenix (Json, Shai Linne, and Stephen the Levite!)
AMEN, I LOVE YOU AND YOUR MOM JSON, AND I THANK THE BEAUTIFUL LORD JESUS FOR SAVING YOU AND HOPEFULLY YOUR MOM. YA'LL PLEASE SEE JESUS IN THIS SONG, THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL STRAIGHT UP JESUS HANDIWORK, BEAUTIFUL JESUS DID THIS. THIS IS JESUS. AMEN.
How is that true at all? Because hes not saying "jesus jesus jesus" every 2 seconds its to worldly? Lol get outta here. If he dosn't tell his story how the hell is he supposed to glorify jesus in this?
+Mr. Nuhu I'm guessing u jus listen yo the beats cuz the singer said "Jesus" ONCE and the Json didn't say it at ALL! This song very clearly gives glory to the dope dealer. He was more bragging about the old man. I feel his heart was right it just came off wrong. The Gospel is the power of God and His Word is what changes lives not your turn around. Many Jehovah's Witnesses are on their way to hell yet they have turned from their old life.
TheBerean No but he said Lord and he's thankful for forgiveness. Becides, why does it matter how many times he says Jesus? Is there a minimal number of times before it becomes a "Christian" rap song? Its easy to judge him when you don't grow up around drug dealers and gangbangers. Think about the other people who will hear this song and open them up to god, especially those from places like this. They need someone to relate to that found god, not just some "corny or privileged" preacher acting like he can relate. And your turn around can be a testimony to what God's done, so yes it can change peoples lives. Lol well I'm glad you know the destiny of jehovas witnesses. I'm sure you believe that most of the world is going to hell, eh?
It's sad that people cant see Christ in this, because they have lack of discernment. Just because Json isn't screaming Christ, Christ doesn't mean he hasn't delivered Christ.
The song sounds great! So the average person will love it! But it takes a person of certain experience to fully understand everything shown in the video. Including the words that are being said...
Its disheartening that ppl still put God on a box and expect to reach the world to and bring them to the Love Of God by being sooooooo monochromatic, for a lack of better words at the moment. How can you bring someone, even a family, to God without having one foundational piece that u both can relate to? How can you expect to help ur brother or sister in Christ to grow if you urself cant even be real enough to lay out all ur wrongs, and show how u have been redeemed and use that to draw more into Gods Kingdom of Christian LOVE? U just want everyone to constantly spoon feed u more and more Bible Scriptures without actually showing or using life to truly illustrate? SMH
Dope beats to go along with the dope references. Too too much like the world...not nearly enough faith based lyrics. This song would be right a home on any secular Hip Hip radio station!
sorry to tell you but ive reached more people with my testimony then just by talking about christ and scriptures..The streets need realness They need someone real that did what they did and made it out. and how will they know its possible without a testimony.. will you reach them with you holiness, paul said i became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some...If you aint doing it dont touch the way hes doing less your willing to get your hands dirty..And dont say whats christ and whats not jobs friends did that
bad8018 I agree with you on one thing this does need to be on secular radio And God can do it, some dope dealer will listen to this and know there is hope and he can change. remember jesus came for the sick not for those who think they are well
bad8018 you make a very valid point about the lyrics not being heavily consumed with scripture. I will say this though and I may be wrong....... I think this song will definitely reel in the audience that he is trying to reach with it and I am so sure that he has songs that will have a more theological/ scripture heavy approach. I believe the intent behind the song was to reach the lost. As a Christian artist myself I feel that we sometimes create TOO much songs to please those sitting in the church pews and not enough to reach the lost. With all that being said, I truly respect your opinion though. #MuchLove
This is a heartfelt video from Json and I appreciate the underlying message of it, but I see a problem in Christian hip hop when it comes to past lives being redeemed. Many rappers that have theological doctrine in their songs are accused of not being practical to their listeners. They give them sound doctrine as it pertains to God and Christ, election, sanctification, etc., but some find it too much like school. They want the practical application, not realizing a proper understanding of God leads to application. On the flip side, you will have songs that lead in the direction of this video, proclaiming a past life and then telling them now they desire something else because of redemption in Christ. This is not a bad message, but sometimes the emphasis (whether outwardly or not) is on the past life (i.e. showing gang violence, drugs, sinful decisions), even talking about it in detail in the song. While this shows the destruction of the past life and the folly of it, this practical video only addresses the consequences and folly of the past life verbally and visually while offering the solution in Christ. Again, the solution is in Christ, but how? How does the former drug dealer or pimp or prostitute change their mindset now that they're in Christ? It's good to say that Christ changes you, but for the believer struggling with the past, how do they practically avoid the temptations or the leading of this past life that may vex them now? I would love to hear a rap song that theologically shows them how they renew their minds (Romans 12:1-2) or how they confess sins to be cleansed because they know God's commandments are good or understand the ways of the world are destructive because of the depths of sin and the leading of the devil (Ephesians 2:2-3, Colossians 2:8). Practical application comes form an understanding of the depths of sin (Romans 3:10-18), the holiness of God (all of the Bible), the freedom from sin in Christ (Romans 6) and the fact that the Holy Spirit is guiding them in the truth of God's Word. It's not enough all the time to just say "I used to be a drug dealer, but now I want to be a preacha man" if you don't show the beauty of holiness as compared to the depths of sin in a sinful world. This video shows that depth, but only sound doctrine shows the depths of God's holiness and righteousness. Practical living in Christ comes with scripture because our sanctification is by the truth of His Word (John 17:17) being led by the Spirit, not just talking about how bad my past life has been. I drank for twenty years and can share about how awful that was, but in my sin nature I can have a bad or trying day or times and want to go right back to it. I know it's bad, but my flesh desires what it desires. Practically, I need to go back to the Word, the goodness of God, and the depths of sin which I now disdain, taking anything that exalts itself above God to the captivity of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). So again, I applaud Json's sentiment here, but my prayer that the practical and the doctrinal would not be separate in rap songs, but that we realize in the Christian life they go hand in hand.
Hmm. For me there was a few too many drug references and a little too little Jesus Christ... That's just my take on it. If it leads people to Christ good.
Lightning Sonic take a look at rapper SEVIN. He threw the "N" bomb much in older tracks, but his lyrics cant be beat by any christian rapper. He turns the hardest of people to open their eyes to the life he lived and look at themselves.. check out his album "purple reign" here on youtube
If you can't handle the variety in Christianity than you should stick to what you're comfortable with everyone doesn't share the same hippy dippy I was a virgin till college testimony people that are in that lifestyle can be reached by his music ! Stop judging cause it makes you feel uncomfortable if it does then stay out the kitchen at listen to quartet music lol
Agreed.. never thought i would see a vid like this from Lampmode.. Jesus Christ crucified is all we should boast in.. not that we used to be a dope dealer.
Jesse Lopez When you listen to this do you hear Json boasting in being a dope dealer. The reason we say this fitting is if you have followed him you know that he has always told his story and pointed to Christ. We feel that was done in this song and his album. Json does not make the same music as shai linne or others be we know his heart for the Lord and the truth is in his music. Json has come from a hard background and spends time in this type of environments sharing sound biblical truth. Our theology has not change and we dont feel this song in anyway goes against anything we ever have preached. We are not Reach Records and we dont desire to do what they do. If you go back to Json's first album from Lamp Mode you heard songs like this. Our prayer is that before you charge us with something that you would check our track record even check Json's earlier work and see if we have in any way deviated. We stand firm that you will not be able to bring that charge against us or Json. We are thankful for your support and you can trust that our heart is to share Gods truth but please understand that will look different from each of our artist and the way they approach that will look different. God Bless
I appreciate your dialog to your listeners and also with me Lampmode. I truly appreciate your work and the Theology that is in your music. I will be honest.. this video and the delivery is not my favorite. When i was younger beginning in 2nd grade these beats and the fantazing of the ghetto / urban culture is what drew me to hiphop. I was seduced and immersed in all things hiphop until around 23 or 24. At which time i began to try to live with a purpose. To worship the True and Living God in what I said, what I did, and what i thought. It has not been easy of course and has been filled with many mistakes. I think one of the things I have grown cold to is the Thug mentality whether it be in the past or the present. i thing that coldness came through in my comments. I pray that i have not offended anyone at Lampmode and I truly apologize if I have. I respect all of you guys and I tout your music when i am sharing the message of the Cross with young hiphoppers. I apologize to JSon if I have personally offended him. That is not my intention. I was sharing my opinion. I truly respect the work you guys do and I appreciate the truth that is spoken. I hope you guys would accept my apology. Grace and Peace. And I apologize for the generalization in regards to Reach. I know for a fact you guys are not trying to be "like" them or do what they do. The delivery and video reminded me of something i would see from them. That is just my opinion.. but i know Lampmode is not doing what they do. Again i respect and enjoy pretty much every album you have put out .. all the way back to Grassroots!! You guys keep doing what your doing and know that I support you!! Grace and Peace Lampmode!
Jesse Lopez Thank you for your humility and grace towards us brother. As Paul would say you have proven yourself perfect in this matter. No offense taken bro. Json's has not taken any offense. I apologize if our response seemed harsh or angry cause thats not our heart either. We understand that this may not be everyones taste in music and of course your entitled to your opinion. Thank you again for your continued support and we are sure if you decide to support Json's new project you will find it filled equally with boasting in our Lord.
It still goes! We are still up. ✊🏾🥶

This song glorifies the old you more than it does Jesus Christ. Apart from a few lines, its no different than the world
