    I've heard these two convos, aside from Connor's take about Aladdin using a Death Note, twice counting this on separate occasions.
    Hating Eren? Totally valid. The "Final Season" went on for far too long and I kinda lost interest after part 1.
    Eren treated his allies like dirt and spat on their kindness.
    Honestly, if it wasn't named the "Final Season", it wouldn't be as memed on with egregiously long names by people online.
    Would it keep people waiting? Yes to a degree. Would people be strung along for a conclusion? Also Yes.
    Hating Aladdin?
    While he is a liar and a thief causing mayhem, he doesn't... *intentionally* harm innocents but it doesn't excuse him for causing a scene.
    The elephants used for the "Prince Ali" music number was an exaggeration and magic shenanigans. Where would he get a several
    elephants in such short notice? Genie cleared the path ahead of time for several animals offscreen until they were inside of the palace.
    Jafar however DID knowingly send one of his lackeys to his death. The person in question, Gazeem, was deemed unworthy of
    entering the sanctum, the Cave of Wonders. As he took one step inside the lion head entrance, the cave reacted and the entrance
    slammed shut on Gazeem deleting his existence and Jafar had a front row seat watching it all happen.
    What I'm saying is, you can't equate Aladdin to Eren since there are others in AOT who are titans who have killed hundreds.

    • @AneXineohp
      @AneXineohp 7 місяців тому +1

      i mean, aot was my favorite anime for years, i technically grew up with it, watching s1 and being exposed to the manga and all the side projects/adaptations when i was really young. it was like reading my first book, an occasion so momentous, that "a glossy eyed kid" is the best image i can use to describe my exposure and re-exposure to AoT over the years. i proudly watched aot and would consider myself it's top 100 fans, i was so thoroughly excited for s4. if anyone asked, eren would be my #1 thought for "favorite character," but i'd just say mikasa because i loved her character design. i'm a good judge for story and i don't get bored easily, and i was excited until i wasn't. when it comes to narratives and writing, i kind of have this weird intuition where i can forsee how a plot or story is gonna go based on its introduction. once i realized what was happening, being hella confused as to why i was having my writer's intuition over AoT; i started to feel a weird feeling, i didn't feel it was real. i trekked on until episode 9, when i realized i was literally hurting myself by watching AoT.
      like, this usually happens when i stumble upon an amateur, basic, or cringeworthy work, or maybe a poorly thought-out/manifested/illustrated book, movie, manga, show, movie, anime, etc. i felt like i was getting punk'd when i realized how the story was going. not to say the story was poorly written, in this case, it was more like it was written with the intention to showcase how bad the internal life of the story could get, which they did a good job of doing that.
      i can't emphasize enough how much I still love pre-s4 AoT; like I obsessed over it, I fell over myself thinking about it, getting all giddy and giggly just thinking about rewatching the immaculate seasons before s4 came out; it was high up there in the magnum opuses of anime, but it fell so hard. my depression literally worsened after getting through the first 9 episodes, like i genuinely became stressed and it ate me up inside for so many nights.

    The acts that Eren committed were inexcusable, obviously. However, Ymir was the one pulling the strings so _she_ should be the one getting the blame in the end, right? Eren couldn't do shit to stop the events from unfolding the way they did. No matter what he did to try to change the flow of events from what he saw in his future vision, it made no difference whatsoever. It's heavily implied that his desire for unleashing the rumbling was planted in his mind by the founding titan powers (i.e. by Ymir).

    • @morganf.1562
      @morganf.1562 6 місяців тому +1

      So the actual main villain who plans it all was a girl from a thousand years ago living in a parallel dimension created by pre historic alien bug, who suffered toxic relationship and doesn't even have one line of dialogue or characterization? I hope at least they had fun writing this bullshit

    • @misterroboto1
      @misterroboto1 6 місяців тому

      @@morganf.1562 Can you really call what Ymir did as "planning"? To her, the past, the present and the future all melt into a single thing. It might look like a plan to a regular human, but to her it was a sort of impulsive act. I also disagree completely with you assertion that she had no characterization. It's quite the opposite, really. The entire AoT series IS her characterization. Her initial complete lack of will is a reflection of the lack of will of the Eldian nation as a whole. Also, her story is hinted at throughout the entire run of the series. Just watch the first opening and credit scenes of season 2 and you'll understand what I mean.

  • @atabis4893
    @atabis4893 7 місяців тому +9

    I get the impression that the main reason why we have so many dissatisfied with the AoT finale is that it was too 'realistic'(sadly lacking a good word to describe it here).
    What I mean by that is that all the journey the characters went through, all the suffering and carnage could have been in vain in the bigger picture. Human nature can't be changed, from spears to the power of titans to nuclear weapons - humanity will always fight each other. This was a message that is unfortunately relatively 'realistic'.
    And Eren ended up cuckolded, that sucked too :)

      Nothing is realistic, let alone "too realistic" about the ending we actually got.
      Zeke on the verge of giving up got convinced to die by reddit-level logic.
      Avengers is fighting thousands of ancient titans and suffering zero deaths.
      Annie after the yoyos and horse kicking literally got off-scott free from the fact that she was the reason why all of scouts dies in the first season and has the audacity to say she'll do it again to return home to her father. Especially Levi squad, Levi is wild trying to fullfill his promise to Erwin which he died by choice where as Levi squad got toyed with.
      No one has problem with the message about how humans will always fight with each other, its that the execution of the narrative is where kiyomi is completely oblivious from the fact that whether paradis or the world wins, humans will always fight each other. world winning was portrayed as "everyone happy eldian gone kumbaya" to take away nuances and agencies from the alliance to make an emotionally and "realistically" difficult decision. The story comes off as being funneled towards shallow conclusion

    • @LoyaltL
      @LoyaltL 6 місяців тому

      There was nothing "realistic" about the world making peace with Eldians after they conducted a billion+ genocide. Just the record of the Eldian empire kept discrimination going strong 1000 years later but the half-assed genocide created peace? Beyond dumb plot.

    • @morganf.1562

I think he did everything he could to protect the people who are close to him. Also, seeing how everything blends and constantly runs through erens mind would make him crazy. It's easy to sit here and be like ah i hate him this and that. Let's not forget he saved mikasa from death at an early age. He was chosen 2000 years ago. Like wth and taking about war crimes lets not forget that paradise sent three of there titans to tear down the wall and kill a bunch of people. Men women and children. there's so much to pick apart about your reply, but mostly, why? why bother me with your boring opinion? i would rather go back and forth about why eren sucks or why not, and maybe you're just eren's #1 fan, but because he was criticized it's suddenly "stop being so sensitive about an anime." at least criticize me properly. i mean, it's not like im rolling on the floor crying about s4 lmao, i'm just voicing how i felt about it which is normal. anime wouldn't be where it is if people weren't sensitive towards it. think about works like Akira or Perfect Blue. if neither Otomo Katsuhiro and Kon Satoshi were sensitive to their craft, this world would be such a boring place, it'd feel lackluster comparatively. "sensitive" is such a bad word to use, as its definitions just justify why i commented the way i did. if you like something or you've taken enough interest in it, you're automatically sensitive to it. it's only human to take interest in something, that's how we've evolved as a species. you're clearly sensitive about anime too to even be here commenting to me.
      this is all to say, you bother me, so you deserve to be explained why cuz you're soooooo peeked about what another person takes interest in and yet you have the nerve to criticize them for a "fault" you also suffer from. boring.

    Jafar does have a body count, and a lack of concern for human life. No successful unalivings in the movies by his hand, but definitely choosing to not save some people, and trying to have Aladdin executed in the sequel.
    And Aladdin doesn't have a body count. Even if if he did, he's a street rat who was struggling to survive and didn't intend harm to anyone. Jafar knows he's responsible for at least 1 confirmed body by his own inaction, manipulated others into positions they'd probably not survived, held people against their will, and used mind control despite already being in a position of power and comfort. Also multiple attempts on others lives still count.

    I cant hate fictional characters but yeah....... The attack of titan ending is really bad, it creates a bunch of contradictions and plotholes and makes a bunch of characters act of out character, like what happen to Historia? Why she fucking a random farmer? Why is "the female titan" that killed so many people a part of the team and why is she suddenly in love with Armin???
    The ending was a total character assesination for Eren, why is he the one that killed his mom? Why was he in love with Mikasa? Why did Ymir did all that destruction? Because she was in love? WTF!? Why the charcters became titans just to turn back to humans again? Why did Mikasa married Jean?
    All of that is just a tiny resume, I didnt even talk in detail about stuff like Reiner, etc.
    A lot of people that said the ending was good, say the message about "war is bad" makes it good. A good moral, doesn't suddenly make a good story, by that logic veggietales is the peak of entertainment.

    • @reflex9238
      @reflex9238 7 місяців тому +3

      These aren’t even plot holes or contradictions considering it was stated in the first part of season 4 that the farmer was someone she knew in childhood.
      As if the conflict between Annie and working with them wasn’t brought up at the end of part 2 of season 4, and that wasn’t the only conflict given on the situation when Commander Magath and a few others had issues with working with each other. I’ll agree with the ArminxAnnie plot line since that fit shoehorned in.
      That’s easily explained in the story by the very fact that he couldn’t, just like he couldn’t stop the Rumbling. It was a plan that even he wasn’t too keen on but had no way of changing. It’s clear that Eren to some degree always care about Mikasa in some way given the flashback of where he asked her what she is to him and the other of him and the rest of the group in paradise island.
      Given how past, present and future were all viewed simultaneously by Eren it’s very likely the same for Ymir and she couldn’t exactly change things like Eren couldn’t change very much. The next two are just so asinine as that’s literally explained in the story itself as you just need to pay attention. She moved on to some degree after sometime I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.

      I feel like you didnt watch the show. Annie and Armin was forshadowed from s01 (you should ahve asked yourself in s01 why Annie never killed Armind and why Armin kept her secret for months - you d realize). Eren was from episode 1 an egocentric, aggressive, blood-thirsty brat that only cared for his own goals, his character was sh*t from episode 1, people were just blinded..by I honestly dunno what coz I never saw Eren as anything but a psycho. Mikasa did not marry Jean, it is a fan theory - it is in no sense confirmed who she marries. Why did they turn titans? Why does anything happen in a story? That queston is very much out of left field - coz you need drama in the show, it has 0 impact on anything, dunnow why it thew you off, JJK, ChainSaw Man, Naruto, no shounen you d enjoy if you have issues with rasing the stakes artificially. Ymir simply wasnt able to let go, Mikasa was...very simly put if Vladimir Putin was able to let go of his own obsession with Ukraine, we d also not be in war rn. And the message is not - war is bad, the message is: this is humanity, it is a cycle we wont be ever able to break, but it is still worth living for the small things. If you are still confused I recommend reading up on: World War II and Isreal v. Palestine - those are probably the closest real life stories to this one. Some say Vladimir Putin is close to Eren, buuut unless he nukes us I d say not, if he will nuke us tho coz of his fear of NATO, sure then we can talk about that similarity too.

      Hey, this is all casual discourse, but watch yourself. Someone who doesn't really put much into family? Besides those she knows through streaming and her online presence, and maybe people she knew prior who stuck around, family is literally all she has. The people she gets to see everyday is her family, and she praises them for it, but most of all, she tends to beat herself up about it because she knows they had to spend so much of their lives raising her and taking care of her while being separated from the rest of the family. While it's big in pretty much every culture, she is Puerto Rican and they traditionally have very big families and an emphasis on family is put above damn near everything, they structure family relations in way where immediate family is considered much more extensive than in other Western cultures ("compadrazo") so the fact she is isolated the way she is already causes so much conflict and turmoil.
      I believed she cried or ranted on stream thinking about the fact her parents were berated for "keeping her away" from the rest of the family when in reality, they didn't have a choice because of her CVID.
      Don't make it personal because you disagree with her, that's too far to say something like that. Should've just ended with "doesn't understand the series," but even then, that's based on your biased, own feelings of the events and not an accurate understanding/reading of the narrative. There's a difference, hence why there's a reasonable argument to be made.
      Eren gets family, right? Yeah, so he discards those who had been his only family for more than a decade from since the fall of Wall Maria when his mother died and his father "disappeared?" I might could get over everything else, but what proper excuse do you have for how blatantly disregarded what he means to Mikasa and Armin? Their childhood to adulthood together blown to smokes due to his deranged outburst of selfishness, like a moody teen who has too much power, but a poor mental state. I get it, he's gone through more than a lot of characters, and that's saying a whole lot; but a lot doesn't mean most and so much more characters went through worst, damn near objectively, and a hell of a lot of their struggles had to do with Eren in one way or another. That asshole became the anti-hero to his own story, to his own life, and made others suffer because of it.
