Most Evertonians who have phoned into your show have been saying that the Premier League wants Everton relegated, you slated them as a load of rubbish and now you are assuming the very same point by saying that they (premier league) are either stupid or want Everton relegated. Evertonians have also known their club was being run into the ground for years and voiced their opinions during the previous years against the board and those in control at the top and again they were slurred for it. It seems that Evertonians know their club far better than all your opinionated nonesense and just maybe an apology to the fans is in order.

I find it shocking in the first place that Everton were deducted 10 points! considering the so called big 6 wanted to jump ship from The Premier League altogether. and what was the punishment? a pathetic 20 million pound fine between them. All 6 of them should have had a points deduction. It just goes to show there's one rule for some and another rule for others, corruption at it's worst!

But the mitigating circumstances (outside of their control) were 100% ignored: 1)The financial ban on Russians once the Russia-Ukraine war started, resulting in the Stadium-naming deal (£10 million per year in the period in question) having to be dropped, and 2)The value of Sigurdsson being reduced to £0 from £20 million as a result of his arrest (and ultimately not charged). The PL's role in all of this stinks, absolutely stinks! So get your facts right!

It makes no sense everton are being charged for spending their OWN money this wasn't money owed to the bank or creditors, newcastle should be allowed to spend their own money, this isn't a Leeds Ridsdale situation where money was spent in the hope of raising money by becoming better by spending money they didn't have, nothing makes sense, forest have spent in the hope of surviving with their own money, how can someone say that's wrong when chelsea, city, united have spent billions on players, it's not a fair playing field

Nothing makes sense, the money everton and forest have spent is their OWN money, neither club is or was in financial trouble, forest and everton as well as city,liverpool,United,Chelsea,Luton,Rochdale, Stockport,Stoke whoever should be allowed to spend whatever money they want as long as its theirs,no-one wants to see another Portsmouth, Bury, situation where clubs may go bust because of overspending money they don't have, but that is not the case here, everton have a net spend on players of a bout 35 million over last five years, chelsea spent a billion in 2, this isn't a level playing field
We have to remember that Master and the PL wanted a 12 point deduction, that clearly shows that the PL where using EFC as a scapegoat in order to avoid the government subjecting them to a independent regulator.
Government needs to appoint a footballing ombudsman. Premiere league is not fit for purpose.

Don't forget, this government booted the European Champions' owner out of the club he owned, because of something the owner had not done & that had nothing to do with the club. Well said Andy. Even as an outsider, Everton has had some of the worst decisions on the field as well, which has been going on for a while. I'd like to see them stay up with their middle finger out. Surely, though, you can't end the season and then say you relegated. They must start the next season - x amount of points.
At last someone with the balls to say it. The premier league and particularly Masters, want to see Everton relegated. Also if you look at some of the Ref’s decisions on the pitch, Everton are the only club not to be awarded a penalty all season.

Everton charged, penalised, appealed, appeal reduced ban - all before Man City have had one single charge completed, even though all those offences happened way before Everton's. Hand out punishment IN ORDER of offences taking place.
The Premier League is a joke. They will wait and see if Everton get away from the relegation zone, which they won't. If they are 4 points above come end of April they will get another 6 points deducted. Imo , ffp is ridiculous .Forest and Everton have breached to a farb lesser degree than Man City and Cgel;sea and are suffering punishments that could destroy their seasons . Secondly , let people run their own businesses . You would assume from past evidence that most football club owners know what debts they can handle , what player wages etc . Let at what clubs have fallen through the cracks and where those clubs are league wise , and you would have to say its been smaller lower league clubs with low revenues that have suffered in genertal , which to me says the pfa etc needs to give greater funds to lower league clubs as in their cases it's hard to balance the books with the revenue they get currently .

Lets bust a myth here, it wasn`t that Everton were "unaware" that stadium interest costs would go against PSR, it was the fact that the rules CHANGED in the midway point of the season we allegedly breached. So it was external to PSR then all of a sudden it now has to go against the PSR baring in mind Spurs benefitted from this for their whole build so why shouldn`t Everton?
Let`s get this right the PL were determined to get Everton whichever way you look at it. If Everton aren`t building a stadium to regenerate the whole of North Liverpool the club does not breach whatsoever, so tell me what sporting advantage have we had? Also having to sell players, not being able to buy and having to be involved with relegation battles when Everton have one of the lowest net spend on players for the last 5 years in the Premier League.

Thank you Goldstein you’ve said what Everton fans have said all year! We know we’ve done wrong and deserve punishment but the points they just plucked out the air 🤣 and we all no this won’t happen to city or Chelsea
Why is the PL set-up, processes, communication so confusing? It's embarrassing how amateurish the handling is. They, whoever they actually are, need to be in the spotlight and made communicate way way more regularly. How else are the rest of us supposed to know what is actually going on? Not just Everton but all of the daily operations, it's beyond embarrassing now, it's infuriating how poor they are at the very basics of any business let alone a multibillion organisation.

This is what happens when you over complicate sport. When I was younger, football was only about what happened on the pitch. Now days you can cheat on the pitch and somehow if you cheat off the pitch, everyone starts crying and outrage follows.
If a player dives to win a penalty and wins the game, nothing happens. Three points to one team and you move on.
If a club makes a mess of its accounts and spends too much, suddenly all hell breaks loose, and everyone starts screaming and shouting.
Such arbitrary stuff and yet no one could say it would have made any difference to any of the matches.

Threatening or planning to leave the league clearly isn’t cheating by gaining an unfair advantage within the league, now is it? Spending more than you’re allowed to means you’re able to buy and/or retain players and coaches that are helping you pick up points on the pitch. By staying within the rules, Spurs hardly had any net-spend on players across several seasons whilst directing their finances towards their new stadium. Arsenal did the same in the later Wenger years whilst paying-off The Emirates debt. It appears that Everton realised they’d probably get relegated if they followed the same frugal example and therefore resorted to breaking the rules out of desperation. Which is an understandable reason to commit a crime, but doesn’t excuse it!

I disagree with the whole thing but Everton having an interest deduction expense disallowed is different from city and Chelsea paying people under the table and defrauding the league.
Time for change at the top get people who played the game instead of tossers who know nothing about football
It's a bit messy deducting points mid-season. The PL need to fall in line with the new UEFA regs which are calculated over the calendar year, not financial year. Clubs are told around March if they've failed. There's a short appeal window, then punishments are imposed for the start of the following season.

What I don't understand is why this figure that isn't supposed to be breached hasn't been increased since its introduction in 2015. Whilst inflation and literally the prices of everything has gone up in the country (more importantly I'm certain trhe average wage of premiership footballers, contracts and signing on bonuses have also gone up) wouldn't it make sense to also increase the figure because nearly 10 years have gone by and I'm sure the RPI is also massively different from then to now.
The level of incompetence being exhibited by these football league managers is shocking and damaging. Everton are building a world class stadium and Forest are really going for it to stay up and get back to the glory years. Both clubs deserve to be treated so much better. It’s totally disgusting.

If there's no sporting punishment for gaining a sporting advantage by breaking FFP regs then there would be no point in having FFP regs.

Breaking FFP regs in and of itself automatically confers a sporting advantage. This is settled law and was clearly stated in the original PL report.

I work in compliance and when a error committed by the company happens determining the behaviour that led to the error is the most subjective thing to be decided on. 2 different organisations thought that Everton had been dishonest and now a different organisation think they were just incompetent. Everton should have had the points deduction made the season it applied to. In which case they would have been relegated and should have been relegated there and then. The fact the Prem league can get it so wrong even seasons after the fact is just crazy. Charges must be applied and completed within the given season. I also agree that the three year points system should apply. You cant be allowed to breach the rules massively in one year and only get punished for that once or Newcastle could buy in a double team one season and then claim they cant get charged for the following two years if they spend nothing.. I would like to see a growing value given in line with yearly inflation so that the process evolves and does not stifle teams as years go by.
It started when ancelotti was there in that season we finished 10th and finished 10pts off the top nowhere near the bottom teams
