This JUST MAKES SENSE. I found myself in a deep dark hole being attached to 'what I did' as my identity and 'performance' as my only measure. I've spent the last 5 years forging my own strategy and system to develop self-confidence, control and clarity to consciously define my OWN purpose. I haven't heard it as succinctly as this. Thank u Ryan and Michael

Gervais has an edge that his clients will generally never have, he teaches others, which keeps those present moments in front of him most of the time. We learn enormously more when we teach others what we are learning ourselves.

The 4 signs of relationship failure was one of the best things I have ever heard... My 7+ years long relationship went sour like 2 months ago and when I think about this... These signs were all there... For a long time (years actually) in the exact order, getting us down the path of doom. Greatly said.

He's stealing from Brene Brown. Get her book Atlas of the Heart.

*10 things to quit for all Strong Men:*
    1. Caring about what others think
    2. Not believing in yourself
    3. Not experimenting different ideas / solutions for problems (life&business)
    4. Not prioritizing your health
    5. Wasting your precious time
    6. Wanting something (instead write a plan and work towards it)
    7. Chasing meaningless relationships
    8. Wasting or draining your energy from beating your meat 🥩
    9. Wasting time by scrolling social media
    10. Nailbiting/nailpicking habit for good (if you do it - consider stopping it as it makes you mentally weak + affects your confidence and all other areas of your life!)
Take it easy and I hope you found one thing helpful in this list.

Thank you for this interview - this is pure gold! So many nuggets of insight, especially the one about relationships, and the most important relationship of all: the relationship with yourself. Love it!

I respect what your doing but spamming with motivational quotes takes away the purpose. It just means you aren’t looking into them at all and just saying it to say it

Hey man, I know with audio delays and the excitement of talking to such an extraordinary person it can be easy to butt in with your own ideas, but your agitated need to interject or add your thoughts while this man is calmly expressing ideas directly contradictory to that action, it reallllly sticks out.
    Food for thought 🙏🏼

I think 'the state of flow' is the place to be in sports. I've boxed in front of hundreds and was totally unaware of the crowd and was only occasionally aware of the ref. I've caught footballs like it was in slow motion. Everything that I've done in sports that was exceptionally beyond myself was in this state of flow. It's kinda autopilot.

Nice but why do u overidentify and compare sport and business performance to Wall Street and Silicon valley...which attracts show-offs? Try super airports, NASA projects, dojos, ecological and social NGOs as more fitting examples of performance and quality in organizational structures.

Michael Gervais is very astute and forgiving in this interview where blue-sky bubble blowing seems to be all that Ryan has got. Ryan, you really do need to realize that you are displaying the Dunning-Kruger syndrome in this interview (overconfidence because of ignorance). You simply do not seem to grasp the chasm of knowledge there is on display between you and Michael Gervais on these issues. And that body language 'baton' left arm of yours keeps battering me over the head. Ouch! In a word, embarrassing.

A lot of these podcasts are really just ways to provide value to the uninspired listener all the while trying to one-up another and make the subtlest backhanded jabs. I thought I was tripping but the way the conversation flows always ends up in this manner.
