Next time you could use a blunt ended scissors. They'd still have sharp blades to cut the hair but it would take away the risk of poking. I routinely cut my children's hair (they are now 31, 29, and 27) while they sat on the riding lawn mower. It was the ONLY time they were allowed on it. They were SO thrilled by being able to "steer" they hardly noticed that I was cutting their hair. BONUS: The hair was left outside and was used by the birds as nesting material. Found several nests with golden locks in them (after the babies had left the nests, of course). Very satisfying. Virginia Clearbrook MN
Good idea. And you can sharpen any all scissors by simply cutting aluminim foil. Just fold it in layers cut up in fine pieces..works with the cheapest of scissors everytime.
Good job dad. I didn't cut my son's hair when he was little, but I do it myself now and have for years. He's going to be 16 in May. I think he was over a year old before he needed his first cut too.
Atlas just wants to see what on earth is making all the noise and Cory hiding it makes it a game. His haircut looks good. Over time it’ll get easier and his cut won’t take as long to do.
Great job Cory! Atlas looks handsome with his new haircut. My husband cuts our 2 boys hair, he by no means is an expert and he has messed up a bit at first but hair grows back quickly anyways. I've also noticed that each time he cuts the boys hair he gets better each time. I also like to sneak a few pictures of them getting a haircut by daddy, it's memories to look back on when my boys get older.
I absolutely love this parenting duo! Your teamwork is so awesome. I love how the babies are able to watch you support each other in milestone tasks even in their earliest developmental stages. Chell has the pleasure of gaining more of it to memory since she’s a bit older but it’s awesome to watch!❤️
I really loved this blog post. I have been following you for a couple of years now and I love watching your family. It was one of the most natural vlogs you’ve posted. I preferred the calmer voices. It seems more mature and don’t apologise for who you are, you are great people!
I'm a new viewer and I've been watching your videos all day from this channel and mean kitty. Love your family! You and Kristen crack me up! Thank you for your videos! Your kids are too cute. Hope the stray kitty is doing well.
The first time I cut my sons hair was in the bathtub. His hair was so curly I could not get a good cut unless it was soaked and dripping wet, even then I had a short time to cut it. I ended up maneuvering around him in the tub while he played with toys, actually worked out great! I always trim his hair in the tub now, easy clean up too. :)
The last 2 times I cut my boy’s hair (10 months and 12 months), I used my beard trimmer just like you attempted to do at first. He HATED it. He screamed and cried all the way through both cuts. He’s ready for another cut so I’ve been watching tutorials that all recommend scissors. I didn’t use them the first 2 times because, like you, I was nervous about cutting him or something. But watching your video confirmed what I started to infer from the other tutorials: scissors are quieter and therefore more recommended. I’m gonna try scissors on his next cut and see how it goes. Anyway, it was really cool seeing the contrast here.
Omg!!! I remember your 'Mr. Safety' videos from yearsssss ago when i was so much younger. Im so glad to see that you're still on this platform making videos with your beautiful family!! ♥️
For safety I would suggest using kid's round tipped sissors and keep the blade end pointing away from the direction his quick turns would come from. M.
It needed cutting :) Looks pretty good now. My baby's first haircut was done in a bathtub seat on the bathroom counter in front of the mirror. I used clippers and just mowed her hair down to an inch. It looked so cute!
@@User-xn8cx well gender normative hair and clothing aren't important to me. In fact, I like to subvert those expectations. So it's amusing to me that it's ok to cut a baby boy's hair but not a girl's.
Nice, when I cut my son's hair for the first time, i started with the buzzer a few days before, i let him touch it, hold it, and then turn it on, basically let him get comfortable with it. When it was time to do it, he sat there like a champ
You did I a great job.our little one is 19 months and needs a haircut for the first time .very nervous and also think they look so grown up when you start cutting it.
Put your hand on his head and cut everything above your fingers. So, slide your fingers in along his head, the cut the hair. Looks like you did pretty good! 🙏👍🏻
For the first time you did good Cory.I think.Love you guys.p.s.I'm all the way down the Rio Grande on the border with Mexico in a little town in Texas.
Awh he’s a little cutie and so docile and good tempered. Bless. I kind of agree his hair was so inconsistent and so messy. You did well, and at least tried to get it looking more tidy and even. God job 👍x🌸💕😘
Watching from India..my baby’s hair is just out of control now and due to COVID restrictions we can’t go out to the baby salons here...so finally gathering some courage to do it myself
Thank you all for this video me and my two year old loved it. She crawled into my lap to watch it. I was looking through videos to try to get an idea on how to cut her bangs. The bangs are just a little to long Thank y’all again!
Both of you , you start by cutting the top first so you blend the sides to it. you then line up his fringe ( Bangs ) so it first comes just his eyebrows
You did great Cory, Good job Atlas! I think that going to a hairdresser wouldn’t have gone that good imo. It’s a stranger and they go for it regardless. Scissors are always best i think, unless you get him super preoccupied.
You did a good job! With my youngest, I did wait until he was around 1 year old. I put him in his highchair, and kept him occupied with Reese's cups! I'm no beautician, but it worked! ;) If you start at the sides & back first, it's easier to give them a break and then go back for the top. They might look like a little punk for a while, but they are...so it's ok! ;)
He looks adorable, good job. Filipinos believe in not cutting a baby's hair till after they turn 1 yr old. Not sure why but my mom did it with all of us. then she saved a lock of it in our baby albums.
Love this! I watched right before cutting my 14 month sons hair, however i opted out of beginning with a clipper or trimmer because I knew he’d end up with on big strip of bald hair lol. Once you started with the scissors, I was able to follow along for the most part. Thanks so much! You’ve got an awfully sweet boy.

Virginia Grenier brilliant idea! I wish I had that 28 years ago with my kids!
Good idea. And you can sharpen any all scissors by simply cutting aluminim foil. Just fold it in layers cut up in fine pieces..works with the cheapest of scissors everytime.
Might be easier if he was in a high chair with wet hair. You did a great job. He is so handsome!! No matter what.
What a gorgeous boy Atlas is! You two make beautiful children, but then again, you’re both pretty darn beautiful yourselves!
Great job Dad! Momma he will always be your baby boy! 💕💕💕💕
Wonderful job! I was really worried at first. I think Atlas looks adorable with his haircut. 😀👍🏼💕
I love the red in his hair !!! I never noticed it before.💜💜
Good job dad. I didn't cut my son's hair when he was little, but I do it myself now and have for years. He's going to be 16 in May. I think he was over a year old before he needed his first cut too.
That is the best haircut Atlas has ever had lol. Atlas looks good with his new haircut.
Heheh I love all his fuzzy hairs poking out :D he’s adorable
Atlas just wants to see what on earth is making all the noise and Cory hiding it makes it a game. His haircut looks good. Over time it’ll get easier and his cut won’t take as long to do.
Wow!! Corey you did a great job! I agree with Kristen though, he looks like a little boy. It feels like yesterday when he was in your belly!!!
atlas is so cute and he reminds at the end of alfalfa cuz of the lil hair sticking up on his head soooo cute
Adorable. I love that the two of you were twinning.
Great job Cory! Atlas looks handsome with his new haircut. My husband cuts our 2 boys hair, he by no means is an expert and he has messed up a bit at first but hair grows back quickly anyways. Those beautiful blue eyes. The scissors were the only way to go. They were less distracting. Good job!
He is too cute omg......that part when he cried ..... so adorable ....
Great job Cory! I hated when I had to cut my baby’s hair. She had a mullet!
you guys should keep a bit and tie it together with a string. my mother did it and paced it into my photo album
I cut off some (a lot) of my own hair as a little kid and taped it into my baby book 😂 it's just a messy page of hair and clear tape
You did a pretty good job. You managed to layer it too. I'm impressed.
Atlas reaction every time Cory turns on the shaver is priceless😂😂😂 "like whhhaaattt"
SO cute - looks like such a little boy.
I love your channel! You guys are so funny! Your kiddos are the most adorable! You as a couple are adorable! ❤️💙💚💛🧡💜🖤

i think atlas is a neat little guy with his first handsome haircut.
ERMERGERD!!!!! Hey so big already! He's going to have such wonderful hair. adorable! aghhh!!!
I am a kids barber and do a lot of first hair cuts so this was awesome to watch for me!!
Well using the old but gold mechanical manuel hair clipper is the best solution for babies.
😂 I loved how every time you ran the shaver over Atlas’s hair in the beginning he’d turn toward it like,”What the heck are you doin,Dad?”
Atlas looks so good. Great first haircut! But so sad too. He did grow up a little. He's a little version of Dada. Awe, hope you saved a lock.
Love you Atlas. Such a brave lad. Didn't get scared by the scissors..
Cory you did a pretty good job with cutting Atlas’s hair

Atlas is such a cute baby! His haircut came out really well! This was an adorable video! ❤️❤️

Baby's first haircut is always cute, I think he looks adorable.
Yaayy haircut! Watching from Sydney, Australia. It's 11:15am 24th January.
Atlas is absolutely adorable!! You both look great in matching grey shirts!! 😊💟🐞
It looks great!! I had to give my oldest son 5 haircuts before he was one. He had a mop! I know how hard it was for y'all!!
I think he's so handsome either way! And he did such a good job (oh, and so did you Cory)!
He's an adventure kinda guy, you know you want to give him a Mohawk! :D
You did a great job Corey. Atlas looks like a all spiffed baby.
He is so dang cute. He keeps looking at his mama like. What was that?!?!
Much better. Wet it and use a comb next time. Watch a few you tube videos. Over all good job.
He looks so cute with his new cut! I'm too scared to do my toddler's first haircut yet. ✂️😨
That whole mini adventure was adorable.
Omg!!! I remember your 'Mr. Safety' videos from yearsssss ago when i was so much younger. Im so glad to see that you're still on this platform making videos with your beautiful family!! ♥️

Great job you did. I love Atlas's haircut. 💕 Logues Life is trying to get 2,000 subs

Tie-Dye Menace her? Why would you cut a baby girls hair? I understand a boys hair though
@@User-xn8cx well gender normative hair and clothing aren't important to me. In fact, I like to subvert those expectations. So it's amusing to me that it's ok to cut a baby boy's hair but not a girl's.
Tie-Dye Menace oh goddd here comes the gender police
Nice haircut. You did good. Atlas was getting a little wild looking.
Didn’t realize how red his hair is! Handsome man!!
Nice, when I cut my son's hair for the first time, i started with the buzzer a few days before, i let him touch it, hold it, and then turn it on, basically let him get comfortable with it. When it was time to do it, he sat there like a champ

Hello from Central New York. Atlas looks adorable with his new hair cut.
For the first time you did good Cory.I think.Love you guys.p.s.I'm all the way down the Rio Grande on the border with Mexico in a little town in Texas.
Gosh!!!!! Was so scared 😱😱 everytime Atlas turned after listening to the shaver sound!!!
Awh he’s a little cutie and so docile and good tempered. Bless.
I kind of agree his hair was so inconsistent and so messy. You did well, and at least tried to get it looking more tidy and even.
God job 👍x🌸💕😘
Didnt noticed the red hair before :o
Good job cory!
Watching from India..my baby’s hair is just out of control now and due to COVID restrictions we can’t go out to the baby salons here...so finally gathering some courage to do it myself
You did an excellent job!! Its not easy cutting kids hair. Atlas is so adorable!!
Great job cutting his hair. It looks awsome
Great job on the haircut!! He looks super cute and and like a handsome little boy. Now I don't feel like I need to comb his hair.
I would love to see pictures of Chell and Atlas together as babies of the same or close to the same age.

aww Atlas cutie. He looks so adorable with the haircut.
Nice job, guys!
I have cut babies hair before, not easy, but you did great!
It looks great. It almost looks like he has more hair in a way because it's less uneven.
Thank you all for this video me and my two year old loved it. She crawled into my lap to watch it. I was looking through videos to try to get an idea on how to cut her bangs. The bangs are just a little to long

Great job Cory. It looks great, and yes Kristen, he does look like a little boy now
Cory: The hair must be cut
Atlas: NO DAD NOT THE HAIR, NOT THE HAIR, IM GOING TO CRY!!!!
Good job Dad!! What did Chell think about it?
Both of you , you start by cutting the top first so you blend the sides to it. you then line up his fringe ( Bangs ) so it first comes just his eyebrows

Ha ha ha ha ha, that was so precious. Atlas, his little face. But he looks so nice now, A little fella.
Good job Cory... gonna cut my baby hair this week on 27th January and your video is a good confidence boost and how to relax them when they are tense
He looks adorable, good job. Filipinos believe in not cutting a baby's hair till after they turn 1 yr old. Not sure why but my mom did it with all of us. then she saved a lock of it in our baby albums.
That was fantastic 😇 Atlas is so stinking cute. The haircut turned out awesome!
Good job Cory. He is handsome
Aww, hi Atlas! He is stinking cute and getting so big.
