Larsson's mentality and longevity are definitely a 10/10. To succeed through everything he was put through with racism, career-ending injuries, and not getting offers from big teams until his older age, takes so much mental/physical strength and determination.

Yes agree I was wondering why he didn't get it for this at least. Think he was the best player in the world on ability had everything just didn't get his opertunity quick enough surprised how he was treated at a young age he wasn't spotted by big club just as good as all the greats

He did get offers, Alex Ferguson tried to sign him several times when he was at Celtic which is common knowledge.."Ferguson made his first move for Larsson when Martin O’Neill was in charge and the Parkhead icon was at the peak of his prowess that ultimately would lead to him scoring 174 goals in 221 appearances over seven years before he left for Barcelona in 2004.
Ferguson said: “I could have signed him earlier. I was ready to make the bid when he was at Celtic but Dermot Desmond, Celtic’s majority shareholder, rang me and said, ‘You’ve let me down, Alex, you’ve got tons of players, we need him.’”

You seem to have forgotten how many English sides he turned down because of how happy he and his family were in Glasgow. He turned down “a few extra pounds” to go south of the border because his family’s happiness meant more than money. I have no loyalty to Larsson as I’m neither Scottish, Swedish nor did I support a side he played for, but he’s easily one of my all time favourite players.

Also think there's a lot to be said for if you're loved where you are and enjoying where you are in life and your form why move? seen too many instances of players getting big money moves only to disappoint and be totally out of place. I'm a Celtic fan and he was my hero.
A legend. My grandfather who was a bitter staunch Rangers fan. Hated every Celtic player, coach and even Referee's who gave them anything respected Larsson. The goal where he chipped Klos was the only goal against Rangers that my grandfather celebrated. To me that says a lot as he once threw his dinner at his TV when Aberdeen scored against Rangers while threatening to shoot the referee for giving away the free kick which assisted the goal.

One thing you forgot to mention in this video is that Barca is STILL looking for a replacement for Larsson, 15 years later. Just look at the names they have had - Ibrahimovic, Neymar, Suarez, Greizmann, David Villa etc - and none of them were able to replace what Larsson meant the team. That, and his loyalty to Celtic and Helsingborg, speaks more of what type of player he was then ANYTHING else. Even when he was 36 at United, United wanted to KEEP him at the club. They were going to offer Helsingborg a lot of money for a player of Larssons age (talks of about 7-8 million pounds, same as when Zlatan left for Ajax) but Larsson did not want to enter contract talks since he made the promise to Helsingborg to come back afterwards. Henrik Larsson is probably the most underrated player in the history of the game. Well, him and Lev Yashin.

@@andersulvskovjrgensen1943 I always feel it´s unfair to compare people in different positions, to me one of he best players in the world ever was Lothar Mattheus, he won games by just being on the pitch, extreme leadership and an almost unrivalled presence in the defensive midfield. No, he wasn´t the elegantier but I would sign him for any side, when a team was struggling he could raise the bar like no other.
Both Larsson and B. Laudrup were very good, each in their own right, who would I prefer? Depends really on what kind of player my team needed. The one thing B. Laudrup lacked was ambition on a professional level, he was just a nice guy who loved to play football and did it well, at times he was almost godly at Rangers and I did love his rushes down the line. Both Laudrup brothers quit at a relatively early age.
