Don't you carry your own gun? I never meet up with anyone for a sale like that unless I'm prepared to defend myself. Craigslist is an accessory to robbery.
Craigslist in the SF Bay area has been fine for years. I sold car parts on there for almost a solid 10 years w/o any issues. Started buying and repairing guitars for the late '10s to '20 until covid hit. Most I've dealt w/ is flaky people who don't show up. Best advice is meet at your local police station but still protect yourself.
Good lord. I wouldn't have taken that trade either. Music shops here low ball abit, but at least they still do offer money. The mid-tier gear sales has gone a bit south imo.
Yeah, you're out of your damn mind if you think my no soliciting sing means I won't say no. I'm saving you time and a negative experience by plainly telling you not to ring my doorbell. If you do, you were warned.
My personal Craigslist selling experience has also been scams, extreme low balls, and trades. I've never had a legitimate offer. I've only tried to sell three separate times, but that was enough to avoid the platform entirely
In the 90sI traded a generic strat copy for a '72 Tele Deluxe in a grocery bag. About an hour later it was all back together and playing!
hearing this for the 2nd time, I'm still laughing

Just meet in a public place?

Is the only way this works

Let's invite them all tonoue homes and tell them we carry large sums of cash.
I would rather deal with c list buyers than guitar center anyday.
I had a guitar on Marketplace about a month ago. Guy asked if I wanted to trade it for a Drum set. I just said No. I'm not a Drummer. 🤣
A Tele forba dime bag? Deal!

Taurus 38= tackle box gun. They're garbage.
Taurus has been making revolvers fir decades . That 38 was standard issue fir many PDs in the 60s/70s just like Glock is today
Taurus is a fine company.
Great gun for a woman.

It would be funny if you said you've only used Craigslist once...
"Scams low balls and trades... all on 1 instrument"
Lol
