It is indeed. The studio version is played with a capo on the 2nd fret.

I admire people who can stretch their hand like that, but most likely Opeth uses a drop D to make easier all that happens in sixth string. (Also valid for fourth string in song Every breath you take - Police)

Actually in this song they don't use capo live, Fredrik just stretches his index finger like that. Look at the live performances.
