Yo, Michael Martinez here.. VideoSquid is currently what you’d call a “reaction channel”. Some of the bigger names that people seem to really like on this channel are Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, One Direction, Sohyang, Lady Gaga, Diljit Dosanjh, and pretty much anyone on WISH 107.5.
This channel was started when I quit my job…. fine, I was laid off… I had some extra time on my hands and didn’t necessarily need to take on a new job at the moment, so I decided to find out what it would be like to become a “UA-camr” and if there was ANY possibility that THAT could actually be my new “job”. So I checked out the Trending Videos section on UA-cam because I figured that’s where all the newest and coolest stuff would be, prime reaction material…. So I started off reacting to EVERYTHING!! Which was a waste of time…… although I guess it wasn’t a complete waste because it helped me work out some of the kinks. I was reacting to talk show interviews, random vlogs/sketches, educational animations - I’m bored just writing about it.. THEN I came across Zayn Malik’s stripped down version of “I Don’t Want To Live Forever”, which I thought was awful… I said exactly what I thought in the video and I received an unbelievable amount of hate, nothing like I’d ever experienced…. It didn’t bother me at all though, because of certain circumstances and even past jobs I’ve had, I have REALLY, really thick skin… The amount of hate actually excited me. The way I looked at it, engagement was engagement. Every time someone told me, “kill yourself”, “never react again”, “eww”, “quit youtube”, “shave your eyebrows”, “If I saw you right now I’d kill you”.... etc…… I thought, this is gonna help my SEO, I have so much activity!! Then I did MORE Zayn reactions, along the same lines of course, and others where I was also brutally honest and got MORE hate.. I got so used to being a hated channel and I totally embraced it. I accepted it as my thing.. But then something WEIRD happened……… people started to “respect”, “admire”, “appreciate”, even “LOVE” my honesty……. I didn’t know what to do with this information… It confused me for a moment… I didn’t mind the people that hated me at all, but now, I also wanted to keep the people that liked me, happy…. There was a short period where I didn’t know who to be… Do I keep being this Simon Cowell type that trolls my own haters?? Or do I be a nice guy now and tone it down because I don’t want to scare the nice people away?? Then I realized that the only reason ANYONE liked me in the first place was because of my honesty.. and I never minded the haters in the first place so, honesty was the answer…………….
It’s been awhile since that revelation, and this channel has been getting SO MUCH LOVE ever since……. Haters/trolls get bored after a while if they realize that they simply can’t get into your head.. The cool viewers stick around for the party :) ….. People have been SO cool that I even decided to “give back” a little and give them the opportunity to “critique” ME, since that’s what I’m doing to their favorite artists on a daily basis… So I started uploading some of my original music, completely expecting to be DESTROYED in the comment section……. And nope…. More love….. I’ve been doing music for a long time…. And I’ve NEVER received this kind of love for it! I was overwhelmed by the positivity and realized that I have the BEST viewers!
I don’t know what the future holds for this channel. It’s currently 99.99% reactions but I’d also like to do vlogs, sketches, more original music, etc. I’ll try to learn more about what you guys want to see and then I’ll do my best to deliver.

Louis was the lad who didn't get enough solo in one direction, he was almost like the backing vocals (which carries the song, for me) simply because his voice is as light as feather and not everyone's favorite type of voice.
I love 1D, even though my favorite is harry, it breaks my heart that people judge louis all too sudden because of that, when he's always on key. To me, he has a unique voice that not everyone has. And it intrigues me, I wanna listen to him more and more.
Why can't people just stop trashing others to make their fav look better?

Sheyla Tamayo thank you. It blows my mind, that some of them called themselves directioners but they bashed members of their fav band? They're all good, they're all talented. Thats why they're considered as the biggest band in the world, they've worked so hard to be in this position. They're all equal. And its making me sad that this fandom is falling apart like this😔
Delia RMC yeah, its really sad, although i havent been in the fandom for too long, (cuz unfortunatelly i started liking them last year, after the "break") i feel like there's so much hate against some of the members, and i am like what? they were a team,they succeed as a team, they are what they are cuz they worked together, they respect each other, im not saying that everyone has to like them all, but at least dont be disrespectul. i wish i could have found them before when they were together i really regret of that, cuz now im not sure if lm going to be able to see them together again.
Sheyla Tamayo i've been a fan since five to six years now and we were so strong, it started to separate like this since the boys are on break. everyone were so loving the boys even though they have their own fav, i just hope that when the boys are back together, everyone can stop the beef and back to loving each boys equally😔
They're doing a solo project out of being in the band. Its like camilla having her own song outside of fifth harmony when she was in the band. And i'm 100% sure they will be back, although as not as soon as we think. I believe they will reunited, few years later perhaps. And I hope when they're back together, you're still here with us so we can celebrate together!
Delia RMC of course i will, i think once you are in, you cant scape do you? i love all their solo projects so far, they are all doing amazing and different stuff which is pretty interesting for sure, i guess that for ppl like you who have been here since always, is nice to see their individual aspirations and tastes, although harry will always live in my heart like my fav, i cant deny i love them all, and of course i will be pleased to see them reunited again doing what made them big: ONE DIRECTION

Whilst in the band louis' voice was extremely underrated (along with nialll's) meaning he didn't get much solos, if he did my for a long amount of time, and for em he has one of the most unique voices and it's my favourite out of the band. Although I love them all.

H. Jams I know it's so unique and beautiful. I'm so glad we can hear him more in his solo career obviously I want them back together but Louis voice is just so Angelic. That's what people finally realised when JHO came out.
Shannon Tierney Louis has a great voice, he carried most of the choruses, without his unique voice they would have sounded very different. You should should further note that Louis wrote many of the best 1 d songs. Louis excels in the rockier songs and yes he is passionate when he sings.

This is actually my favorite reaction of Louis anyone has ever made. You actually get it! I don't listen to Louis because he's a "great" (wtf is that btw? every singer sounds great to their fans. I never understood the concept of "great singer") but because his voice makes me stop and listen. Whenever i listen to 1d songs, Louis' parts are the only ones that i don't sing along to, i just sit back and listen. I really don't care about the high notes or low notes or whatever, there are other artists that i love to listen to for that purpose. But if i'm in the spiritual mood, i listen to Louis.
And if we're talking about talent (other than his angelic voice), his writing skills surpasses all the other boys. I love all the boys' lyrics, but tbh they're kinda basic. But Louis has the ability to make you listen and think.

Love what you said at the beginning! I'm okay with people who have their favs and prefer certain styles over others in the band but I don't get going to a video and commenting something horrible towards one of the boys. Totally agree with the 'stylist' comment you made. I love Louis' emotional connection and I love his song writing ability.
I totally fucking understand what you're saying. And Louis truly has the most unique voice and heart wrenching performance. In my opinion Harry and Louis have one of the best voices of the group. and it truly doesn't hurt that their harmonies in their songs are the best. Seeing has Harry has a lower range and Louis naturally has a higher tone in his voice they almost balance each other out.
Also to touch up on the hate you see between the two favorite doesn't happen that often. It does happen when there are solo fans that are only fans of the said one member. And they will try to prove that member is the best out of the group and those fans will definitely clash with the fandom who are there to support all. I would go as far as to say that this conflict between the fans was created because of the media and the management but thats a whole other topic

See what happened was everyone else in the band had a deep voice and louis' is high so they gave him no solo's on the first album to try and sell the whole perfect boyband that sounds like one sound, the other boys' voices you can easily mix up a lot of times but Louis stood out too much. So when they caught on to the management not letting Louis sing everyone just said "he can't sing then" but the fans loved him so much that the first song he got to sing the full chorus alone (FOUR YEARS IT TOOK) even tho it was not a single, the fans forced radios to play it and it was no.1 on the iTunes chart for like a month it was crazy, so he got loads of solos on the last albums because they finally caught on to the fact we wanted to hear his voice. For me he really makes their slow songs like Night Changes, Through The Dark, If I Could Fly, Spaces, Right Now, he especially makes the songs Once In A Lifetime, I Want To Write You A Song (the way he sings the chorus is like a child to a parent, my mom, my own mother nearly cried not from the lyrics, because while they're nice there's not much depth to it, but she said from the way he sang it so I completely agree with what you're saying and he sings the chorus in Made In The A.M (the song you thought was funny) and No Control. He creates a natural harmony to the band that Zayn and Liam have to try so hard just to match his easy pitch like I can't wait for his album, people need to stop sleeping on him! His verse in the new charity single makes me so excited for his album because he's using a different technique with his voice and it's showing all the good sides to it and a bit of range! I'm super excited! Louis was by far the easiest voice to pick out of the band, you could always tell his voice from the others and it's my favourite thing about it. I'd hate to be unrecognisable and to be honest, the most hardcore fans in the 1D fandom, the ones who go the extra mile with voting and signs and fan projects are mostly louis fans, him and Harry go hand in hand as favourites because of they're charisma, humour (total opposites tho cause Lou's like funny and Harry's just goofy) and by being the most standout in the group. I love and support them all but out of the four, I feel like Louis and Harry will have the most impact and dedication from fans

You just took the words out of my mouth lol I agree in everything you said and thank you for pointing it out. A lot of people focuses solely on the technique, the vocal range, etc. and don't put the emotional aspect into the equation. That's what music is supposed to be about, no? To make you feel something, whatever it is. I'd be bored if I were to see a live performance in which the artist sang pitch perfect but without any passion at all. And that's the problem nowdays with the autotune and playback rubbish, they're aiming for perfection and nothing else.
In Louis' case, as you said, he may not be the best singer out there technically speaking, and maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but his voice is unique and makes you feel something, and for me that's enough. Not knowing what to expect from his voice every time he sings and have that surprise factor it's definitely interesting. By the way, I'm glad to not be the only one who thinks his tone has a punk edge to it! Like that's what I've been thinking for five years and I'm still hoping for him to go that punk route lol

Everything you said in this video was s t r a i g h t o n ! I think after 1D became solo artists, some (ridiculous) people have decided that it means that they must start rivalry between each of them as soloists. That's pretty annoying considering none of the boys themselves see any competition between them whatsoever. What you said at the end was completely true as well; I'm probably biased because I'm a bigger fan of Louis's voice than the rest of the boys, oops. He didn't receive as many solos throughout the band as say, Zayn and Harry. However, if you listen to their tracks, you can clearly see that without his voice, the band may not have worked out very well, because the high tones he has really put together their sound. Whether he got solos or not, he still made his impact . Loved this video, I hope you react to more of Louis' stuff soon! (Also its pronounced Lou-ee lol)

Emotional, passionate, and raspy that is how I describe louis voice too!!!! Louis has a very distinct and unique voice when I hear him on a 1D song or any song really, I think I'll immediately know it was him. I totally agree with what you said 100%! louis is not a technical singer but a passionate one. Also fyi Louis wrote so many songs on 1D's last two albums he was a big contributor when they had the chance to have more control over what to put on their album. He is more of a lyrics man and he is good at it. :)

I am so glad that you like his voice. Louis has very strong, powerful and passionate voice, and yet so sweet and delicate. You said that these are just not the best examples and I agree, but Louis literally carry almost every 1D song, and when you get used to his voice you can't mistake it for anyone else. Only then you would hear everything you missed now. I understand that someone can say they don't like his voice, but it's just because these songs don't do him justice. Louis is a key point in harmonies, and for me, he keeps most of the songs together, especially live. Without his harmonies, 1D is practically nothing. You should definitely react to his album when it comes out, because I am sure it will be amazing. We all know that.

Linnéa yeah, I was hoping it was a rumour until I saw Louis tweeting his condolences to the family. I can't believe this, Louis' mom died of cancer at 43 like a year ago and now Harry's dad of cancer as well. It's terrifying. But at least they have eachother for emotional support through this time, that's what makes me so happy about how close eachothers family's are with one another

Dj Devil no hate on Louis but you called him shit. Also range means nothing if the tonality isn't pleasant to the ear and Harry's is far more than Zayn's, it's just a fact. Zayn sings in a moody tone, the only thing that saves him is his range which he is fucking up right now if his single with party next door is anything to go by he's trying to hard to sound cool and it's making him sound extremely average, literally like a Drake wannabe. I have no idea how Zayn's music inspires you when all he talks about is sex and blaming people for his problems but ok? I kindly asked you to get out of my mentions because Harry's album is gaining more respect and love from actual artists than Zayn's ever did and I'm sorry but I do like to include a singers personality if I am to connect to their music like you said, there's no way you can fully do that without connecting to the person. Harry's belts have more impact than Zayn's ever could, Louis' voice cracks on softer songs make them, Liam and Zayn have range, that's literally it. I prefer Liam's because there's a vulnerability in it but that's all they have, Niall has more rock in his voice than both combined. Zayn sings in monotone which is done purposely to not be connected with. You commented on my shit looking for a fight, don't say shit like "no offence" after an insult or I will come for you. I asked you not to show up in my mentions. So if you could just follow that simple task that'd be great.
the hate comes mostly from people who are just now latching onto the boys and their solo careers. people who weren't here for one direction but now all of a sudden decide to like harry, for example (which isn't a problem at all), but then they start comparing his solo career to the other boys' solo careers (which is the freaking problem and gets me mad.) even though all the boys have separately said in promo interviews for their music that NOTHING IS A COMPETITION... people still don't seem to get it. me, i'm here for them all and i enjoy each of their individual music tastes for what they are.
i love louis' voice!! so much. he was the backbone behind most of their harmonies tbh. he can sing, undeniably. i like what you said about singers and stylists. and i agree! he is a passionate and emotional singer and has a beautiful raspy voice so thank you for appreciating that!! and people always comment stupid things; zayn and liam smoke and no one gives them shit about it. louis was blessed with his voice, and yeah he doesn't have powerhouse vocals like maybe zayn or harry, but that doesn't make him any less talented. he's got his own thing going on, and so many people love it. sucks people still have to comment negative things, and you have to see them.
also, some people are asking you to react to louis' x factor performance of just hold on. even though i don't think it's your style of music, i think you might like it. because it was a very emotional performance and you can hear it in his voice and even see it on his face. he performed it 3 days after his mother died, and the words of the song kind of took on a whole new meaning because it was very applicable to her situation. i think it would be good for you to see it. louis' pop punk sound was the first thing i noticed about him when i became a fan, and it's the reason i fell in love with his voice, and it makes me so happy to see that other people find it notable!!!

I agree with you wholeheartedly ! Louis' voice tugs at the heart. I find myself rewinding his parts all the time. He has a unique tone and carries the chorus of most songs. He is what makes 1D unique. I can't wait for his album. All the guys have their own talents and I appreciate their gifts.
I haven't rly heard these kind of hate, but hearing this now truly breaks my heart. I've been a Louis girl since the beginning, and hearing this rly hurts. I love Louis, the most but I love every single one of the five of them(yes, five, it will forever be five to me), the five of them are equally talented, not just one of them out of all of them. It's horrific to know there are people in this fandom would hate one or two of the four/five

Dude, thank you so much! Louis really reaaaally doesn't get enough credit for all his talent. Not only is he a great singer like you said (it's all about the passion and emotion he bleeds into every single one of his performances) but he's also the most prolific songwritter of the band (he's written like 40 songs, out of which most have been singles/greatest hits) and he's been responsible for so much of the bands success over the years. So really, thank you for taking the time to listen and appreciate him. Means the world.

Completely agree with you, I love the passion in his voice and I think he's great for what he is just like every other vocalist is great for what they are.

I love Louis. I will admit, Harry is my favorite and his solo stuff is my style encompassed into one musician, not his stuff from 1D, and his voice is my favorite, it's just so raw and deep and gorgoues. But Louis... Louis' is just wow, too. His voice is so strong and bright sound wise, powerful enough to carry an entire song. I love he and Harry's voices together, too- Harry's deep, gravelly, powerful one is almost balanced out, complimented by the light, sharp, bright quality Louis' voice has and I find that breathtaking.

louis is an emotional singer.his voice is unusual (in the greatest way possible) and he puts so much emotion into his performance, thats what i love so much about him. his voice is so soothing and calming. he might not have whats considered a ''powerful'' voice but it really touches your heart. i love everything about his singing, his voice makes me feel so many things and his songs have made me cry so many times. he's amazing on his own but also 1d would be NOTHING without him,just remember that performance where he lost his mic and everything sounded so empty without him. louis is an amazing artist and that opinion of mine's never gonna change, whatever ya'll said about him.
he's also the biggest sweetheart and most amazing person ever but if i started talking about how perfect his personality is, i'd never be done.

I totally agree with your comments. I love Louis' voice and the passion he has when he sings. I discovered them 1 year and a half ago and I kept listening to them because of Harry and Louis because they have the voices that touch me the most, even if I love the others too.

Ok can I just say, I have never before watched any of your videos, I only stumbled upon this in my Louis Marathon (it's pronounced Louie btw, not Lewis but I'm sure people have already told you this lol).

I don't really comment often on UA-cam but I just wanted to say this.
Especially the part where you talked about all the hate within the fandom... It goes on till this day, people from one fandom of one of the boys' solo careers are dragging down one of the other boys and their fandom. It's sickened and devastating to see and watch unfold. People do it for fun and because on social media they can do it without facing the consequences. But they forget or don't care that they're hurting people through it. Some might be well at dealing with it, like you said, but some really take it to heart and it can cause serious damage and land in the eyes of the wrong people...
You all just remember Harry's words: Treat people with kindness 😊 it really isn't hard and it feels incredibly good, too!
Btw, if you haven't already, you should listen to Louis'solo album Walls! It's amazing and incredibly honest and genuine. I am so proud of him. We all are and he knows and feels that. He deserves all the love, happiness, respect, recognition and support he can fit into his big heart. He really just deserves everything good in life.
not gonna lie, when the vid in the corner started playing, i started full on sobbing. that's how much louis affects me. i've always been drawn to his voice, and when i realized how much people bashed on him, my heart just breaks. louis truly deserves much more recognition, from both the industry & his own management team. since they went on hiatus, louis' promo has been carried by the fans & steve (god bless steve aoki, what an amazing man he is) which infuriates me. im so glad you sat and listened and realized his talent. it made my heart swell.

The funny thing is that Louis has such unique voice, it stands out so much that I admit to like it the most (though I really like of their voices and find their voices blend very well together!) When listening to 1D songs I pretty much always re-listen Louis’ parts just because once is not enough xD
its actually so strange that you could tell he had punk influences ! he has said he listened to alot of green day growing up (which is also why he sometimes pronounces words with an american accent while singing)

Louis is my favorite member of One Direction. Right from the start, he was my favorite. There's something about him that just clicks with me. I am very much aware that not all people appreciates his voice. His voice is super light and sometimes feminine like. Well, not all people like that 'type' of voice. But for me his voice is angelic.
I love Louis voice, it's definitely the most unique...his voice would fit a singer-songwriter kind of minimalistic music very well
I love him, he just took the words out of my mouth, normally when u mention one direction poeple talk about harry or zayn and ignore the others, but i love all of them equally, lots of singers nowadays use autotune to perfect their voices, but i don't feel emotion in singers who crave perfection. I love singers who sings with love and passion towards singing, when i hear louis sing, i don't need to start calculating all those shit and rating him, when i listen to him i can see how beautiful and magical his voice is, he's not singing for money or fame, he's singing with passion and love towards singing.

if you remove louis from 1D songs they sound so off, he carries them from behind. he carries the songs in a different way for example then harry does because harry has a very strong voice and louis’ very soft and unique

I love all of them solo. I have my favourites Zayn and Harry. But I love them all individually. I have all their albums. Some people go way to far with it all trashing them like it's going to make someone love their favourite more 🙄should be happy for all off them and how far they have come together and on their own. I am a One Direction fan because of Louis he kept me invested. I now love all of them as the group. Louis still holds all my attention. As s lyricist he is so good and prolific. As a person he is so funny, cheeky, sweet, gorgeous. The most important thing about Louis in the band is that he said NO to the powers that be and fought for the rights of the guys to drop the poppy young boy sound and play the more mature songs. The fandom was ageing along with them so they upped their game for the fans. He also pushed for them to write their own songs. His voice is like you say stylised more than trained but its the behind the scenes fighting management that put all the boys in a position to become stars in their own right but beat Louis into the ground. The black listed him on radio. Everything he did in his own career he did without radio play. They love to interview him, it spikes their ratings but they wont play his music. Against all odds he has won countless award and created festival supported up and coming musos, filled stadiums and won the hearts of people from 1-100. I am 73 and I adore that person personally and musically. Most of the fans are very supportive of each other. Thank you for getting it and for seeing that he is a heart on his sleeve singer because he's a lyricist promotes the story rather than the singer. I'd love to hear him do a folk album

Agreed 100%. To me Louis is to singing what Ringo Starr is to drumming. Not flashy technically but absolutely vital to the overall sound and feel of the group, and incredibly distinctive. You could say he was the magic ingredient that gave ID its sound. I really think if Louis had ensued up leaving instead of Zayn they couldn’t have continued
