That action is higher than my rent
I paid a guy $100 to tune up my guitar (Clapton Strat with 11's as far off the fretboard as I could get 'em) and he put Ernie Ball 9's on it and lowered the action as low as it could go. I just wanted him to fix my cable jack which was loose, clean it up and put some new *good* strings on there and that's all he did. Needless to say, I sat right there playing the fuck out of every guitar in his shop until he fixed it. "Luthier" my ass.
goddamn you could literally park a car under those strings
Realmente no es tan malo si él se siente cómodo además ejecuta bien su instrumento
His fingers have 6 pack abs from playing with that action
He most likely uses lower gauge strings in order to achieve rolls like he performed in the video
It would probably blow his mind to set the strings up at a usable, action…
As a guitarist, i can confirm the first time i picked up a guitar i started playing blues solos
Yes it felt "funky" wen i first played im a day in now any tips for learning gerrudo town?
The point is the action is extremely high and it makes it difficult to actually play notes and harder to play full Chords because you have to push down hard
i'm crying rn bc those strings get more action than me
And i thought the action on my bass was bad lmao
(My index has a caluse the size of a crater bc of it)
If someone says they’re a beginner and they pick up a guitar and start playing that their lying
@@evanh.6097he isn’t, he’s saying that the high action is how it feels to play guitar for the first time.
Bros skill:🤩
Bros action💀
Bro your guitar gets more action than me
I was thinking up something and now I needn't bother!! Though I will say the joke was in need of a SETUP for it to work properly, just like this guitar lololol
Yeah, this is definitely something a beginner would play
I played this even before attending classes
Your guitar has more action than I’ve gotten in my entire life.
Dont you dare touch the 6th fret I still have my car parked under there
I can confirm that my first guitar had an action in the troposphere and I immediately began to improvise blues solos.
The fact u can play that clean with action that high is ridiculously impressive.
It's not, really. It's just that your standards are fucking pathetically low.
@@dmacrolens honestly, “i’m shit at guitar but if i say it’s my first time people will think i’m good for a beginner”

Bros guitar has more action than mission impossible
@@The_Guy_Who_Asked72I Google "guitar set-up" - plenty good articles and video tutorials out there!
Tech:How high do you want your action?
You: Yes.
That string action higher than where I see myself in 5 years
When your guitar is in the basement but your strings in the attic
Forreal, never seen les pauls like that with such high action. They're usually a little lower. Makes it look like a fender.
String : "That's right bro. You gotta bend horizontal baby. In and out. "
I had a Jackson bass that I was borrowing from a friend. Had a loss of balance one night and fell on it... broke the neck... but the action was literally half inch to three quarters of an inch high.. we played a dozen gigs until my friend who lent it to me even noticed. He wasn't mad about the bass. He was more impressed that the action was so high and my bass playing never changed. He tried playing it and couldn't even get one note to ring clear. 😊
The action is higher than my blood pressure.
But if he feels comfortable it is ok. It doesn’t matter. It sound good anyway
breh, your action is higher than the empire state
I’ve stood at the 86th floor and saw his string at least 15 stories above that
That action has a higher will to live than I do
Red Bull is planning on flying a stunt plane under that 6 string suspension bridge.
I been playing for 6 years and seeing how high the action is on the guitar I can already feel the pain 😂 edit HOLY SH*T thx for the 20K likes wow!!
I’m glad everyone is mentioning the action, that’s how it feels to play guitar in a dream
The main dream i remeber where i was playing i had an 8 string with extra high strings though (unlike how they normally are with added low strings) and i could play way better than i can irl
Wait, I can combinr my hobbies. Lucid dreaming and trying to learn how to play guitar. Why didn't I think of this😂😂
For me its more like mindless strumming and some mumbling. then the crowd claps
That action is higher that giraffe balls on an extension ladder.
Bro's action higher than my grades
Hell naw, when I was a beginner I thought that a number on the tab was the amount of fingers I had to lay on a string 💀
“You should be able to place a dollar under the strings around the 17th fret”
*begins stacking coins to add up to a dollar*
dude this action is higher than snoop dogg. my dad actually had a bass and an acoustic with an insanely high action, and he just now fixed the action on the bass
“How high do you like your action?”
“Yes”
He is using his whole life energy for just to push the string because the action is as high as sky 😂😭
My wife told me if I gave her that much action, she would have never left me.
That's how I play and I've been trying for 40 damn years. Im not slowing down on it though
Action aside, that bottle cap straplock is a really cool Idea
I genuinely think that people like these were never beginners.
Nah they just whitewash their own history with shit like this lol. You best believe he was as dogshit as we all were on day 1.
@@abyssSpartan did you see the action he was playing with?! That is something else.
It's more the difficulty of what he's playing is scaled up by that crazy action. When you first play the guitar pushing down the strings feels insanely hard
the strings are higher off the fretboard than snoop dogg is at any given moment
@LONESTARSPACE2lol wtf action of the strings refers directly to how high they sit off the fretboard.
Bro I’m so mad that I thought of this and it’s the first thing I see when I check
The comments lol
You did well to get that feeling to come through in this.
The action on those strings Ang he’s playing an acoustic guitar but makes it sound like an electric guitar
He has the powers
damn, your action is higher than my will to live
Ain’t gotta worry about fret buzz
He went to the shop and said I want the neverbuzz action
Bro can fit his foot through the guitar
"How high do you want your action?"
Yes
Any beginner who plays that well probably has a future in the music business .
@@jimthethirdprobably ohhh just that it feels really difficult to press the strings down, I get it now lol
Thought it was supposed to be something about the playing itself, which was clearly past early-beginner level
Thank you!!
Actual first timer: I’m pushing down as hard as I can and it still wont work.
the problem might be because the action is too high but most guitar players will also try to press down as less as possible and by that i mean just enough for the string to be touching the fretboard
Pushing too hard will wear your fingers out. It's more to do with finger and wrist placement and...muscle memory. Might also be the action being too high like on this video lol strings should be as close as possible to the frets without buzzing.
It happens to everyone at first, if you keep it up you’ll automatically subconsciously understand and stop getting that buzz
I swear I can fly a plane under those damn strings
"How high is your action?"
"Yes"
As someone who was once a beginner I can confirm that I did start jamming like this when I first picked up a guitar.
That guitar’s action is higher than I get when I’m with the boys
I've played electric guitar with way more fkd up action than in this vid for like 7 years, imagine the reaction when i fixed it and played, it felt like you suddenly advanced 20 levels in skill lmao
@@penclaw yeah I had that same problem when I was a beginner. I felt so good after my teacher told me how to adjust the action
@@penclaw I am a guitarist and I have one guitar in my house that has very low action. There's a little fret buzz sound. But honestly speaking that guitar is the easiest guitar to play in the world. I feel like some legendary guitarist likd BB King or Jimi hendrix when I sit with that guitar. Well all my other guitars have pretty much normal action
Those strings are high enough to collide with the International Space Station
As a beginner i can confirm u that this is exactly how I played for the first time
The strings: "Can we get much higher (so high)"
Those strings are so high he’s playing the harp.
The fact that you can play that guitar with the action that high is what's impressive
@AutoSonic depends on what kind of guitar, but there is a rod that runs through the neck. That needs to be tightened to lower the strings. There is a little plastic cover on the bottom of the headstock. That's where you tighten the rod. Should be an hex key( Allen wrench) of some sort.
Also the bridge nut on the body may need to be lowered. That requires removing all strings. Pulling the nut out of the bridge base and sanding the bottom edge of the nut with some 80 or 100 grit sandpaper flat on a table. It won't take much.
That string action looks the way it feels the first time, I'll give you that.
Ah yes i remember playing this my second day learning to ply the guitar. Was easy. Day 4 i did asturias. Also super easy.
Damn, you could land an airplane under those strings. That action gives me anxiety XD
BRUH EVEN THAT STILL SOUNDS BETTER THAN A BEGINNER 😭
@@summonerrr985 is it bcus the action or what it’s called is high and that’s how it feel for a beginner?
That action is higher than his parents were when he was conceived

I dont know whats more impressive, the fact that you got your action that high, that you can play action that high, or the guitar actually still sounds good with action that high.
The guitar def gonna sound good if you got high action, question is whether you can play it.
They reckon SRV used anything from 12 to 17 gauge strings and ridiculously high action. His tech would raise it until he ran out of screw thread.
This guy seems heavy influenced by Texas blues so probably copying him.
The odd thing is SRV probably tuned down half a tone or so like Hendrix which would negate a lot of the effect of heavier strings and high action.
Either way, if you can play it like that, it sounds like bells ringing.
bro i could literally walk under those strings
Why did I think was about to play twinkle twinkle little star?😂
Ive been playing guitar for almost 20 years & while everyone's talking about the action, ive NEVER seen a bottlecap used as a straplock.
No shit my dad who's dead and gone now always use beer bottle tops for strap locks
I've been playing guitar for almost 20 years and I never knew actual strap locks were a thing until like, 2015. Beer caps always 😅
I've been playing guitar for 15 years and I just now found out about straplocks. I almost broke a tooth from my strap coming off I've been scared of playing standing since
I've been playing guitar now for 20 years. This year, I got my first effects pedal.
Thought that was cool too. I actually have 2 beer caps on my dresser because I loved the quote on them. Now I'm thinking.
Need the “what it actually sounds like” portion next. That and the vicious grooves in your fingers from the “high action” lol.
Those strings have more action than Schwarzenegger movies
action is higher than I am right now
That action is higher than the movie Trainspotting
That action is higher than Drake's 🅿️🅿️
It’s amazing he’s playing that well with the action set so high.
This string action is higher than distance between earth and sun
bro has the tallest possible action acquirable
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to replicate the feeling I got the first time I played an electric guitar through an amplifier. It was actual ecstasy.
HOLY SHIT YES. I started “playing” guitar not even a week ago and as soon as I plugged the electric guitar to the amplifier I felt like I was ascending to heaven or something lol
haha same! I've been playing the guitar for a year and a half, but I recently got an electric guitar and I was like "HOLY SHIT IT'S SO DAMN COOL" my poor sister was hanging out with me and had to deal with me going "dude listen how how electric this sounds, listen (strums chord)" for like 30 minutes
That’s action is mental!
Yup that's exactly how I sounded when I was a beginner and started playing the guitar
How do you have such good intonation with high action I love it
Edit: autocorrect is dumb lol
@@leocantaim its just part of action height. You need to ajust trussrod, nut slot depth and bridge saddle height (on the bottom of guitar)
@@zoksss5323 yes truss rod works but not the healthiest way for the neck
he most probably adjusted the saddle height
@@thefamilyman4667 I imagine the nut is higher than usual too looking at how ridiculous the action is
So glad my first guitar didn’t have action this high, I would have quit the next day. 😂
i was in verge of that and saw this video now I'm rethinking that decision 😄.
My first guitar was that bad, when I finally got a decent guitar a year later it was so easy to play, I felt like a pro
WAIT THATS NOT NORMAL??
I literally did stop playing so soon because it felt so clunky to play
I picked up saxophone and have just been playing it since
I finnaly realized why its so hard to play. ITS BECAUSE OF THE ACTION and the strings
It felt like I was going to break every string while also not being strong enough to press it down
i saw this video 30 times and i just now got that he has the action so high to make it harder (and to feel like a beginner)

nope nothing like that when you first start your fingers dont seem to want to move , you then start doing spider drills to get the m to move and your picking hand hits the wrong strings from time to time , its slow going and you have to tough it out , if you are doing it right your fingers are aching at the tips , to say this is how a beginner can sound is a bad expectation this is a year down the road at least
