some tips to extend the life of your nonstick pan: - deglazing (pouring a savory liquid like wine or chicken stock into the pan while you're cooking meats or veggies) washes the flavor off the pan and into your food and prevents things from burning onto the pan. i looked up a couple short deglazing tutorials once and it was a game changer - when you're done cooking, pour some water in the pan and let it sit on the stove/burner for awhile rather than letting it soak in dish soap in the sink, because - dish soap has a degreasing agent that degrades the nonstick coating. it's still okay to wash with it, but soaking it in soap for a long time is bad for the coating - never use an abrasive scrubber, as it completely wrecks the nonstick coating. but if you follow the above tips, you won't have to scrub. sadly, nonstick coating is fragile, and once it's compromised, the pan is basically useless. i've followed these tips for years and my pans last a really long time.👍

You can add stock or other liquids to deglaze the pan after cooking (convert the brown stuff at the bottom, called fond (?) into gravy). I have a new ceramic pan which is supposed to be non-stick as well but stuff still sticks even after repeated seasoning :( Love your adulting series and get real!

for the pans, ive had problems similar to that! but i found a solution that i learned during quarantine 😭 cooking in low-medium heat and using oils/fats for coating instead of nonstick spray helps! plus i heard it’s good to use a lid (at least for my pan, caraway pan) so that way the heat doesn’t escape and a little moisture is kept inside? not sure but someone recommended that! i hope you find a good pan! 😭

Also use plastic or wooden utensils rather than metal! The coating when scratched exposes the glue, which is toxic.
