PSA cares more about controlling pop reports than condition of cards
Facts
True
False
EXACTLY 100% F×××KIN FACTS .....beckett is where I'm spending my money no more wasting it at psa10
PSA = Pop Suspect ALWAYS
PSA is very unreliable and all over the place with their grading.
I think PSA was grading the players and not the cards🤯
I’ve heard if you send any deshaun watson cards in, they automatically give them 8/9s because they don’t want his card value rising or you making money off deshaun. Rumor i heard from employer
@@joescards167 😂wow
Also noticed that PSA graders tend to give multiples of one player exactly the same grade. You can send 8 cards of the same player in expecting to get all 9's and they'll grade them all 8's. It's best to split them up and send them in multiple orders.
Watson
Until they start using a computer to grade the cards it's going to continue to be all over the place.
Both companies are inconsistent. I had the same experience except where BGS gave all BGS 9s with low subgrades. Cracked and sent them to PSA and 80% of them came back PSA 10s.
Yeah, I've had this before. Depends on the grader. Sent my worse conditioned mike tyson cards to PSA and the best conditioned ones to BGS. Ended up getting mainly PSA 9's from PSA and BGS 8.5's and 9's from Beckett. They gave me 2 9.5's out of 44 cards when I was expecting around 13 gems. Will have to crack the undergraded ones and try PSA. Wouldn't be surprised if a couple of the 8.5's get 10's. Always used to get 9.5's from BGS
I’ve had something similar happen on a sub last summer where it appeared BGS was the hard one. One thing has remained consistent since the pandemic, grading has become wildly inconsistent
I got one of those Lawlar blue waves graded as well. Originally PSA gave it an 8, but I knew that was a crap grade and I must have gotten a clueless grader so I cracked and resubbed to PSA and got a 10.
It's just annoying that you should have to crack and resub. Plus when you get the 10 you know it deserved it casts a bad light on psa. It's a major racket. I sell a lot of graded cards and I hate saying that because I'm heavily invested in PSA but they really do suck at grading and their holder is ugly. The cards often move around etc... it's a joke.
That is disgusting to hear. I’ll BUY PSA 10s but never submit myself to PSA with hopes of a 10. SGC tuxedoes for me.
I’ve never seen anyone kicked in the balls so much by grading companies this is really good stuff to watch hopefully the grades swing to your side of the coin eventually.
its all collusion.. they know that people will just crack it and send to another company
I happens all the time
I sent a bgs 9.5 cracked, with two small marks. 9.5 x 4 from bgs. Comes back a psa 6. Wtf
love the channel! for the value of cards you handle maybe invest in a pair of end cutting pliers to make cracking cards safer! thanks for the content!
Would be nice to know what PSA is seeing that's the million dollar question. Good call & job on cracking & sending to BGS
PSA, is very inconsistent in grading, I've seen 10s with garbage corners and print line/whitening. And perfect 8s or 9s.
Same here.
I recently received 2 psa 4s on 2 modern cards that I pulled straight from a package and looked brand new. In no world can I see any reason these would get 4s. I mean cmon Man.
And that's EXACTLY why I'll never send a card in to be graded...its like they save the good grades for people/orgs they know or like...there is SOMETHING going on with this inconsistent garbage!!
Psa sucks
PSA is more interested in quantity. I’m sure they spend less than a minute looking at a card. Just cranking out slabs. It’ll hurt them in the long run.
actually, it really showed why the market didn't like the BGS. You seemed got some cards bump up to 9.5, but as in PSA, they don't average out those subgrades, once your lowest subgrade is a 9, you automatically got a 9 overall, unlike BGS gives you gold label "Gem mint" with a subgrade of 9 that actually not a gem card.
I got pictures of MJ rookie card that was sold on PWCC, was PSA 10 and it's such bad condition i would have given it an 8 and that might be generous. Card paint chipped on the sides, one corner was dull, fiber strands of the card sticking out on all 4 edges, centering was 40/60 side to side and picture of the card was slightly tilted. Cant believe it was PSA 10, and it sold for like 200k.
Interesting, haven't seen too many people cracking out PSA cards to be sent to Beckett lately. If PSA is grading tougher that may help Beckett reclaim some of the market in the long run.
I don't believe PSA is grading tougher, I say they grade inaccurate. I also think they grade with a population agenda.
BGS slabs look the best 😎
I don’t disagree man. It stinks that they have had so many problems in the last five years because they really do have the best slab on the market
the 9 corners are what most likely make them PSA 9s...PSA seems to be most stringent on corners these days, so if you see anything wrong with the corners, don't expect 10s from PSA
This was likely true for the majority, especially from the 2/20 GOD order
It’s gotten even worse lately. I’ve been getting absolutely destroyed in my recent subs. They are clearly doing pop control
Thank you for sharing this. I hope PSA bigwigs see this and are humiliated
Wow, but no surprise, by the way what I like about the Beckett cases the cards are well protected unlike the PSA case card can wiggle a bit, however both PSA and Beckett case look good to me.
Just received grades on my most recent PSA order. 30 cards....only 3 PSA 10s with a mix of 5s-9s. Cards I'm familiar with and have sent in prior orders which received over 50% PSA 10s. Shaking my head...
PSA = Please Submit Again. It’s a scam. I have always preferred BGS and SGC. Every one of the grading companies has issues. PSA is king for resale (unfortunately).
They probably tell 20% of their graders to give out inaccurate grades in the hope that the customer will keep resubmitting.
This is what the hobby has become. "If I don't get a 10, I'll stomp and cry and take my ball home". They don't want the card graded accurately, they just want 10's, so "I'll go to whoever gives me 10's". Grading is subjective (I think they use AI now, not sure), there's a reason you're the "fool" who is submitting while they grade and take your money. The sports card hobby needs to do exactly what FTX did, crash to zero and start from scratch.
People like this guy slowly kill the hobby and cause people to exit vs. brining people into it. I'm glad the market is crashing right now, I hope these floppers are the ones left holding the bag.
What a tremendously not valuable comment. Clearly new here along with the likes on your comment. Thanks for the clicks. Stick around and get educated
why so angry? he wants accurate fair grades that are based on the cards condition, seems like psa just slap a random grade on sometimes depending on the grader you get,(inconsistent) bgs isnt giving away easy gems and they have subgrades letting you know exactly where and why you got the grade. sounds like you hate tyler for personal reasons, the hobby and life..
@@mickey-eq5vw "he wants accurate fair grades that are based on the cards condition"... no he doesn't, he wants 9's and 10's. He's sending his cards off to be graded by a "professional/expert" and then gets mad when he doesn't get the grade he thinks it should be...? Makes sense.
Like I said, Tyler thinks the Kyle Manzardo orange refractor is flawless and should have got a 10. But the top to bottom centering is clearly way off... so clearly Tyler isn't an "expert" in the grading field, right?
@@TylerShort There's a lot of value. It shows what new people to the hobby, like you, turned it into. You buy cards and send them off to get graded so you can flip them. You're not even a collector who flips on the side to build your collection, just a straight flipper.
That's why I love this huge crash. Hopefully it will knock people who only flip out of the hobby.
Actually this isn't accurate. I tested PSA by sending cards in batches of 25 with 10 separate orders. What I got back was terribly inconsistent. I've been grading cards for a while and the cards were all pulled from basically the same box. Some orders were mostly 10s, some 9s and 10s. Some skewed heavy on psa 8s. And some 6s and 7s. It was clear orde the difference. These were cards from the early 90s and were examined prior to shipping. It's 100 percent clear to me that PSA cares only about grading a million cards / month. They do not care about accuracy.
That was a true horror story at the beginning.
From a value perspective, will the BGS 9.5 always have more value than a PSA 9?
100%. Bgs is tougher grader and psa market is saturated a psa 10 is easier to achieve than a Beckett 10 so the cost per card is harder, but if you get screwed like this guy then that's an issue lol.
Love your videos man. All of a sudden BGS got very tough on Auto grades, they used to give you an easy 10 on almost all of them, now it's very tricky. Did you notice that too? Thanks.
I got a psa 9 card. But looked at centering easily a 10, surface looks perfect, edges smooth, corners straight. Bad grader.....shouldve been a psa 10!
You have to realize… a BGS 9.5 TRUE GEM (all subs are 9.5+) is equal to a PSA 10…. So anytime you’re seeing a BGS 9.5 w/ a sub grade below 9.5… it’s a PSA 9… & a BGS 10 Pristine is above PSA 10.
So yeah… you did get a few for sure that were upgrades, but you’re being a bit extra over the BGS 9.5 without being true gem lol.
People ABSOLUTELY will take into account if it is or isn’t a true gem.
• *BGS BLACK 10 - PSA 10 GEM*
• *BGS 10 PRISTINE - (no equivalent)*
• *BGS 9.5 TRUE GEM - PSA 10*
• *BGS 9.5 - PSA 9*
• *BGS 8.5 - PSA 8*
& so on. However, PSA will always be the more valuable grade when equal. The only time this differs is a BGS 10 Pristine vs a PSA 10, mainly cuz it would be kind of like if PSA had some kind of… PSA 10 True Gem .. but I don’t know how the BGS 10 Black vs the PSA GEM label match up tbh.
Just gotta be careful of the BGS 9.5 vs 9.5 TRUE GEM… cuz unless it’s got ALL 9.5+ subs… it’s a PSA 9 as far as value… oftentimes even less actually. So yeah.. I get it’s frustrating to see the PSA 9s… but you can kind of imagine it’s due to one aspect not getting a high enough grade… and the BGS 9.5 is kind of sneaky cuz it seems it is higher than PSA 9… but just the true gem one…
I personally like BGS for my personal cards, because I enjoy sub grades for my OCD, lol & they still have the nicest slabs! SGC being a close second
This is why as a community everyone should start using TAG or another AI grading.
Where can I buy your cards
I know a lot of grading companies have different departments for different cards. Pokémon, sports etc. But they do move people around to grade other things if they are swamped. So you could have got unlucky and got a Pokémon expert who was just handing out 9s.
If you took a 9.5 bgs to psa without cracking would they give you a 10 in the transfer grade???
why not just do a chargeback on PSA. I cant wait until one of these lawsuits against them sticks.
I have no sympathy for people who put their faith in card graders, especially when they're price point is so ridiculously high you have to GEM MT it to make a profit. It's great for gambling addicts though. They gamble when you open the packs, and then gamble again sending them to PSA.
Accurately = the grade I think it should get and other opinions (PSA grading) is wrong, very interesting.
First minute felt like Gladiator 😆🤣🙌
Buy some snips instead of pliers when cracking.
Idk about you guys but if i was to collect and display my cards i would prefer a CSG black slab than a PSA transparent with the red label, i like BGS for than Psa but thats my Opinion, also like the BGS gold labels with the extra grading
I sent in 24 beautiful cards. I inspected all my cards carefully. I recieved only one psa 10. Really dissapointed, they seem to be running a scam.
What kind of cards did you send in?
@@TylerShort Football , ranging dates from 1990 - 2010. Some extremely rare cards. 2 cards 1 0F 1's , 2 cards 1 0f 25's ect. The cards looked prisitine. I inspected them thoughly with a ten times magnifying glass. They all recieved grade 9, like it was automatic. I thought for sure I'd get at least 5 cards at 10 grade . I got one psa 10 on one of my lower end cards.
3:38 the comment you make RIGHT HERE is why PSA doesn’t explain what THEY saw, because they don’t want their low-end customers calling BS on their grading system, while they’re playing favorites dishing out 10s left and right for their high end customers. PSAs end of days is near.
Should of kept your PSA graded cards ‘ there is no guarantee from any grading company that you will get a 10, what you see they see something else , your not telling the truth ; you didn’t get any true 10 ‘s
I feel your frustration Tyler I recently sent in 4 orders each of 30 cards to psa which I felt would be around 85% PSA 10s. I had 200 more that I felt would not get PSA 10 grades. So I was extremely picky. The first order I sent in out of the 4 took the longest to come back and had 18 psa10s and 14 psa9s which is a 56% gem rate. I feel they were training an employee because some of the grades made no sense and the 3 other orders came back 80% gem rate which were the orders I sent out after the first one. No way I sent in a 56% gem rate order.
sup tyler welcome back! check out William Bergolla phillies prospect not a huge sample size but he struck out 3x!! only 3x! all year i think 100 at bats, Also Adeal Amador for the rockies 16yr old phenom! and Christian Strand for the reds dude is young and jacked hits like a beast, all super cheap autos right now I hope Viars starts hitting this year coming off an injury
Cgc is the next big name for us in collecting cardboard. Thier mother company has YEARS in grading and slabbing
Also u get all this along with getting ur cards back a year after submitting them. PSA SUCKS
9 to 9.5? PSA does not hand out 9.5 right? Is it really worth it to cross a PSA 9 to a BGS 9.5?
Honesty it’s not, but the pride in me wanted to prove a point.
All the big grading companies control the population with big named players. Got a load of 8.5's and 9's on Lewis Hamilton cards when they looked perfect. I sent one card in that I knew wasn't perfect, yet they give another two of them the same grade. The grading game is a huge gamble.
I use sgc I hate psa. Psa even gave me good grades but I just don't like them
Have a safe travel. Keep pumping out those great Vids! Ty
I have one last order with Psa and if they skunk me again I’m moving on to bgs
I will choose psa as last resort
I had a psa9 blue Prizm rookie ja, sub to bgs quad9.5, I feel it wasn’t a psa10. Justify leaving it as a bgs9.5 is fine there’s a big drop off from psa10 to bgs9.5 though. Next owner likely cracked the bgs9.5 and subbed back to PSA for a 9😂
I’m still waiting to get fucked by psa. I’ve subbed over 500 cards through them between 2021 and 2022 and my gem rate is 78%. Just did the math the other day. Surprisingly have done well so far
PSA will never change! Their laughing a the way to the bank. $1000 down the drain and then you spend more to grade again. 😂 Lol unless you think you'll actually make the $1000 back in resale it makes no sense. 10 should be hard to get. When you can see two 10s side by side and one looks more OC than the other are they both truly both a 10? This grading can be a racket for sure. Also getting a higher grade in bekkett still sells for less in the same grade in a PSA. Wondering how you think you did and how much if you sold everything what your profit would be factoring in the already $1000 loss
Curios why you picked Becket instead of SGC?
Nm you clarified later in the video
I use sheers and they work better than pliers.
Can definitely see those working better. Don’t have any but probably a good investment
Good for you, now please stop sending this awful company business. Eventually these insane premiums will collapse
FIRE BOWMAN BRO, LETS GO 💥💥💥
good stuff Tyler! believe in yourself!
Strong 9s that will eventually regarde to a 10
Awesome cards ! Gotta love some Bowman
Psa sucks bad grading and missing and replaced cards.
I sent 120 junk wax jordans and got 4 f#ing 10s. I’ve been grading for 14 years and I use a jewelers loupe. Their robot grading suuuuuuccckkkks
Just had another order pop this morning. Zero Jordan 10s out of 3. Small sample size, but the crackdown is real
Been a hot minute since hearing from Uncle Tyler 😊
9.5 centering at the least on the last 2!!!
In my opinion, only 10% of cards should get a psa 10.
That’s why you send the 10% of your best cards so you should hit lots of 9’s and 10’s.
bgs going to beat psa in the future.
Mac jones cards sinking....ouch!
Happy holidays we missed u buddy
You really can’t be mad. Your opinion is different than someone else’s.
Yeah, I suppose. Reckon you support TAG?
Look, if a card is graded by someone other than PSA it shouldnt matter, people need to explore other companies. Its clear that PSA is snobby with their examinations. I would never send my cards to them. Overpriced and what you get back clearly was not accurate, they do that shit cuz they can. they are the top of the food chain, they dont care about your cards. Fine go somewhere else is what they'd say. PSA will always get business because of the red and white sticker. People have to explore other companies. Missing out on up and coming companies. Im glad you cracked those cards pal.
So you agree with Tyler that the Kyle Manzardo orange refractor is flawless? Because top to bottom centering is way off... PSA 9 was correct on that one.
But we all know BGS grades softer, so all the little "waaa I didn't get a 10" "investing gurus" need to start subbing to BGS.
@@WhoDatBenny I honestly wasn't paying attention to that. It's hard to explain what I mean unless I actually say it then it will make sense
That sticker is ugly AF too.
@@vernateriyaki8031 it looks bootlegged
Nice info! Thnx bro...
I enjoy your videos but I'm not really seeing anything proven here. I don't think PSA gave the cards 9s without seeing anything. You probably got a harsh PSA grader and an easy BGS grader.
Your pliers are dangerous. Try some bull nose cutters. I was cringing watching your technique. 😅
Waas waaa
"Waas waaa." Are you stroking out bro?
I think you are crazy for thinking a ja rc without any ink is worth 5k. You all have lost your minds.
If you were paying close attention, I said a PSA 10 is "LISTED" at $5K. Jesus...this hobby is getting absolutely stupider by each passing day
Good to see that it worked out for you. The comment from John's Cards is quite accurate.
I went to SGC 💯
Please Submit Again has infected another 😂
Mahomes is the truth.
Bruh, all the corner issues stem from how you open the packs. Easy to overlook and even easier to damage. Cards packs must be opened with surgical precision to preserve the delicate cardboard. When packs are opened by pulling on the seam, all that pressure is focused on the four corners. Damn near impossible to see with the naked eye and easy to forget about because all these new age cards feel so sturdy. Just an observation l have made from rippin countless hobby boxes and watching peeps open online. You have to pretend like every pack has a 1/1 in it. If you knew that 1/1 was in there, how would you remove the cards differently? Thats how l go about it.
He doesn't open packs, he buys singles to grade & flip
Wow you waste a lot of money on grading fees.
Lol no doubt
I don’t know this guy, but this ain’t it lol
Cry baby
Crying with pristines in my hand little Andy. Go play with your toys!
guarantee 99% these baseball players amount to jack squat!
i read an article that compared prospects to current mlb players, I think its like 13% of a prospect class become an actual super star your not far off, 87% will be jack but i think they said another 20% will be not stars but decent like a kyle lewis, bo bichette
Who cares if your flipping?
