I noticed in your robot reveal that the climb for the high rung was assisted with some human help. Just wondering, have you guys done a high rung climb without any human assistance? Since I believe by watching the robot reveal video that the main problem was unhooking the 1st set of hooks and hooking the 2nd set of hooks.
Unfortunately not, though the problem wasn't the first set of hooks unhooking, it was the robot started swinging uncontrollably and unhooking itself. I believe we mention this in the white papers, but there were some easy solutions to this including having variable speed control with the climber (we had a single speed which didn't allow us to ease into the clime or slow down gradually once we made it to the third rung) and making the hooks slightly longer/wider to allow them to catch the third rung easier
Very professional looking 'bot. I'm amazed at what your team can do in 3 days.
Well done!
Great bot, goodluck at competition!
