Best bricklayer channel there is on UA-cam keep up the great work nice too have an explanation on what your doing, nice one young man hope too see more awesome work 😀
Eeey🤜🤛 I know mate, the weather that day was crazy! And I've got a feeling it's not going to get much better up here for us 😭😭😭😞 yea they are a bit weighty 😂
Basement blocks with handles ie indent for muck have been used in Germany since the eighties how slow are we in this country to develop materials to make work easier , what I learnt in Germany and East Germany on the trowel was amazing and coming back to Blighty to lay bricks was way behind , keep up the good work young man
Hey Izzy, good to see you're cracking on! I've now been doing stone masonry in Montana, U.S. for a year. My mates and I also hit the gym when the day is done 💪 Your vids have gotten a lot better. Cheers bro!
Thanks mate! Nice to see viewers from all the way over in Montana💪🤜🤛 how do you find stone masonry mate? Thanks so much for the support, really appreciate it!
nice way to transfer the level I learned. You should Definatly pick up the orange dead blow hammer from b and q. Its rubber filled with sand. Incredible for hitting bricks and window plastic etc. well worth it no cracks and it somehow gives you more hit from less effort. Not for demolition work but just tapping bricks.
Thanks so much mate and great to hear from you 💪 haha cold shower after the gym and a skin full Friday night 😂 was working at the parents today! Video on the garage extension should be ready for Wednesday
Hi mate, I've only just brought it last Thursday. This is the E60 model, so the cheapest of them all. So far it's been awesome mate. Not had any issues whatsoever and for the price, which was 320 quid with VAT, amazing but of kit, would definitely recommend mate
Hi Doug, hope your good mate! We were waiting for a few things from planning to be fully granted and accepted....would be much easier if it was dropped first...but such is life 😂 hope you've had a good weekend mate
@@IzzytheBricky Izzy. Yes good ta👍 Now i understand. I enjoy the laying out bits. Till i started watching building vids during covid i never realised how accurate setting out and gauging bricks etc was. I bet most people think you put some muck on a brick and slap it down 😂
@@Doug....man some people do just that. The shocking work out there is wild. But then it’s countered with some good work like this. I mean I wish it were all good but sale coer and profit seems to come first these days for a lot….
not much in the way of bricks or blocks for me now a days,... back on the tools but mainly tile work here in BC Canada ...but good to see there are still some good young guns holding up our bricklaying trade skills.....
Quick question I'm getting a floor extension out the back of my house, block on block both sides then 2.5,feet front side with windows on top, the builder says we need 900 mm footings I think he's wrong or is he write 7 foot block work on each side then felted roof
Hi mate. Digging footings 900mm deep is quite common practice. Especially if they are going to be load bearing walls (such as carrying a felted roof) in my opinion, I would trust your builder 🤜🤛
Izzy do you lay stone Also drew if you wana get down grind it Back and forth instead of bashing the Block and compacting the compo as it wont go down then
Hi mate, not going to lie, I can lay stone, but I don't like to. Only done it a few times and I'd need to get really used to it before I'd be happy with the speed and standard 💪
Where’s the sword 🗡️ went if hooking line blocks on for lines which a do mostly always good mark the block in case labour stumbles into the line and move it 😭😆
I usually draw round then in a marker pen...as well a mark where the block is😂 I'll do anything but make a wooden peg 😂 hope your well mate and had a good weekend
@@IzzytheBricky Haha easy to bang some blocks down at the corners a always do it that way also. Wooden pegs maybe good it going to be sitting for while but building on blocks thrown down line blocks get the fuckers built haha 😛 🤟🤟
@@IzzytheBricky I visited a lot between 1998 - '08. Went back in 2018 - it's changed so much! All that russian and chinese money. Lost it charm, for me. I've been all over Cyprus but know the western side very well. Are you family Cypriot or ex-military out of Dhekelia?
Haven’t tuned into the channel for a while and it’s sad to see the subscriber count hasn’t popped off as much as I thought it might have :/ still great content tho so keep up the good work boss ❤❤
Hi mate! Good question. The footings were 2.4m deep. To pour that much concrete would not be cost effective at all. Also with the footings being 900mm wide, we would have used close 60 cube of concrete 😂
Ayup Andy! Hope you're well buddy! As the footings were so deep, it was more cost effective to build up in trench blocks. Usually I have my footings set 450 from FFL. This allows 1 trench and 3 blues 💪

Hey mate, could you help me…. Why do you put random normal looking blocks in with the foundation blocks?
Hi mate, I used the "normal blocks" to bring everything back to bond☺️
hope you know you can still use 100mm cavity with correct insulation .
Cheers mate! 100mm cavity and the hard celotex?
saves on doing 9" or 4'" conc block laid flat ...
