    This wise man has transformed my life. As a muslim Ajahn Brahm has shown me the way to practical life solutions, how to calm my mind and focus, this is the first step to healing and gaining inner peace.

    Learn to be silent. Live at peace. People who wish to bring others down have to live with their anger, many times speaking, saying anything at all gives them the opportunity to turn their anger outward and onto you. I've come to realize that by speaking at all, I open the floodgates for angry people to give their opinions. Silence prevents that.
    It prevents me from making those problems my own.
    But of course, there is a middle-way as Ajahn Brahm puts it. You can be silent without being "rude" just by letting people be aware of your circumstances.

    When I wake up and see a podcast message on my phone by Ajahn Brahm (and I appreciate all the people who help make it happen) It’s like a gift, I’m like a child, I smile and do a victory dance I feel like I won something 😁

    This was just perfect for me today. My mind is like a whirlpool at the moment, so much to do, then not actually getting anything done in the end. Repeat the next day, etc etc. I then beat myself up for not getting ‘stuff’ done.
    I have now been looking at how badly I treat myself. I spent a few peaceful moments today and came out of them smiling. The self hug really worked too. Just saying to yourself ‘hey, you are great as you are. I love me’.
    Thank you very much Ajahn Brahm.
    Oh, I also put my hand on my heart, feeling it’s loving beat as it powers my amazing body.

    When i was finished watching this video I realized I had been silent the whole time. I think being silent begets listening. When you talk too much stuff only goes out of the mind. When you are silent things go in. Reflection is very important.

    Woooooohoooooooo.... Ajahn Brahm is back. It is wonderful to see you again. My heart jumped for joy when I saw your name. No other monk can give a talk like AB. he’s very engaging, full of wisdom and wit ... not to mention how lovable and funny. Just an altogether enlightened being.

    I’m going through a difficult time in my life at the moment. But thanks to AB teachings (“...thinking about it is the hard part...”), I’ll come out of it okay. I need to stop all this thinking. I take refuge in the Dhamma ... especially, during trying times. Sadhu!

    Thank you for your lesson on smiling at yourself in the mirror. At first I thought. Then I did. How it seemed to work. After about two minutes of repulsion then came acceptance. If I keep trying I might even like myself. Your teaching.

    When you’re at peace ... when you’re calm (the Mind is calm), you can accomplish amazing things. Why is that ? Because YOU are not in way of yourself. Good teaching. Sadhu!

    How is it that enlightenment is everlasting / eternal?

    • @liewshanhao1495
      @liewshanhao1495 6 років тому

      while all phenomena is impermanent, nirvana exists as an state/entity outside of phenomena, thus it is everlasting and eternal.

    Loosely; Before you straighten the crooked, you must perform a more difficult task: Straighten yourself.
    Seeker ; Allow the pure instruct the pure.
    If you worry of how your brother/neighbor (another) gives or receives, you trouble your peace ceaselessly. (Endlessly)
    L.B.
    Be silent, when cause brings need to be silent, Raise your voice when cause brings you need..Voice your passions.
    Remember always, The voiceless.. and that;
    Our lives begin to end the day that we remain silent about that which matters.

    Great Teachers all Stood/Stand FOR somthing. Or we would not even have our beloved; Ajahn Brahmavamso, Stand for change within "Orthodox" Buddhism, for female ordaination, the right to show love to whom one pleases (Homosexual or celabate) or for that which your heart as a "Buddhist" or otherwise dictates.
    Peace is every step. TNH.
    Yet, Complacency is not peace. Go about peace in that which complies with Peace, and be mindful that your own peace of mind and "warmth" is more powerful a contribution than "mindless" anger.
    Recognise anger for the re-action to hurt/ injustice etc. That it really is.
    It is more important contributing your own warmth, your own, serene essence to the world.

    BSWA- can't deal with organized religion... I'm very disappointed in them, unsubscribed. This video came up. I hope Ajahn Brahm could have someone post videos on a UA-cam Channel independent of BSWA.
