Her tone has body yet remains chaste, the tempos are stately but never stiff and most of all Monique Haas phrases like a great classical actor projecting intelligence, feeling, meaning. And what beautiful transfers. Thank you for this.
Her Debussy’s performance will quench and moisturize the dryness of the soul and evoke comfortable feelings and nostalgic feelings and pleasure of music

Monique Haas holds an unchallenged position as an interpreter of Debussy Her Debussy’s performance is unrivaled by any other performances The depths of my emotion is immeasurable, and unfathomable
A treasure - ashamed that her performances are new to me (& agree with Michael Letellier): CMRR deserves great credit for presenting Monique Haas, & others whom they "discover" for us less knowledgeable. Thanks!
A true artist, with his creation, knowingly or not, transposes Beauty from the dimension of infinity to that of the senses. Thanks to Claude Debussy and Monique Haas and all the artists who make life beautiful.
Beautiful and elegant interpretation of these impressionistic and perfectly composed piano works in a changeable tempo with graceful yet well-articulated touch and carefully controlled dynamics. Truly awesome female pianist!
I used to never like Debussy, but it seems the older I get the more I keep gravitating to his work. It's incredible how much I keep discovering every time I listen or try and play it myself. Truly a remarkable musician Debussy was.
Yes, she is fantastically unique and can even separate the notes on "Jeux D'eau" Monique's touch is magic and she plays Debussy and Ravel in satisfying new ways.
Wahrlich geniale Pianistin!
Congratulations to CMRR for uploading a beautiful remastering of this repertoire. The great French pianists of the last century have been neglected in Anglo-Saxon discography for too long. They bring an added dimension of sensitive expression and understanding. Thank you.
Her performance is as luscious as the cherry blossoms in full bloom and fascinates people . From chaotic and invincible Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun
Several pieces here that are new to me - and of course the rest are a delight to rehear, even the most familiar. Beautifully played too - thanks for the upload.
Monique Haas' recording of Reflets dans l'eau is my lifetime favorite performance of my lifetime favorite Debussy piece. That's saying something. As a side note, I've listened to it maybe a hundred times. I discovered the CD release after having an LP copy for years. On the CD I heard strange clicking sounds. I thought maybe there was a mastering problem on the CD but then I listened carefully to the original LP and the clicking sounds are there also in the recording! It's a minor flaw; I actually was able to digitally remove them for the most part. A reminder that nothing is perfect.
Clear distinct melodic & beautiful interpretation of Debussy! Please don't ruin this wonderful recording on you tube with the cheapness of these terrible advertisements!

Executions of unparalleled elegance
Beautiful and elegant interpretation of these impressionistic and perfectly composed piano works in a changeable tempo with graceful yet well-articulated touch and carefully controlled dynamics. Truly awesome female pianist!
Henceforth, please include "male pianist" when commenting on the work of the other gender.
Female performer of the music of a male composer..... If mentioning the gender is so important for you.
I used to never like Debussy, but it seems the older I get the more I keep gravitating to his work. It's incredible how much I keep discovering every time I listen or try and play it myself. Truly a remarkable musician Debussy was.
I'm enchanted with Debussy, and Monique Haas plays this music to perfection

I fully concur with you. The same thing, I think, happened for a long time with the great Marcelle Meyer.
Her performance is as luscious as the cherry blossoms in full bloom and fascinates people .

Immense gratitude for posting this glorious treasure trove. I always like DEBUSSY and RAVEL. Always something new to discover upon repeated listenings, especially rendered by these brilliant mature artists. Samson Francois is another magnificent artist.
Thanks from France for this gem
C'est beau...!!!
Her performance surpasses the times

I don’t think you realize advertisements are exactly the reason stuff like this can exist freely on the internet!
Another great pianist. Thanks for sharing.

Love this! Thank you.
Lovely
Aaaww, what a marvellous rendition.
Quelle merveille. Mercik
Much of this was on a cassette tape I bought in 1988? Best music ever?

Detecting some wow and flutter in this recording (excellent performance of course) perhaps the turntable used during digitization was a little..off.
💕
What happened to Golliwogg's Cake-Walk?
❤
Elegance and exquisite sound! I enjoyed it more than gieseking’s rendition.
MANY OF THE PUBLIC MIGHT BE MORE INTERESTED TO PURCHASE THIS UNIQUE RECORDING IF THEY COULD LISTEN TO IT WITHOUT INTERRUPTIONS OF ADVERTISEMENTS! !
I don't think her beautiful idiomatic performances have anything in common with Claudio Arrau.
I do not believe that I have ever before endured as many advertisements interrupting such lovely music. I simply had to stop listening after an hour or so. What insults to Monique Hass, a wonderful interpreter of Debussy. We can see that your interest lies only in the money and not the music.
