That’s a hard commitment though. Should at least wait till next set to see if Mogwai is in for the long haul Cause the issue I think will happen is that we won’t see live balanced patches. The devs are very frank about this being a game focused on collecting cards and not the competitive side. So even though it’s digital, there’s a good chance cards like Misty go untouched.

Hi Mog, I’m one of your Twitch subs-mostly a lurker-but I’ve wanted to say this for a while. I don’t know how you manage to handle the constant negativity from parts of your audience. I get that you don’t seem to take it personally, and maybe you understand your community better than anyone, but I can’t help but feel like that kind of negativity could wear anyone down over time. I don’t fully buy into the idea that “a creator reflects their audience.” Sure, there’s some truth to it, but you’ve always come across as one of the most genuine and honest creators out there. Watching you navigate your channel through LoR, Snap, and now improving and thriving with Pokémon TCG shows just how resilient you are. I hope you can find moments of peace for yourself amidst everything. You’re doing an amazing job, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.
I’m finding success with my own idea of having two regular marowaks serving as 100hp walls that consistently deal 40 damage (for only 1 energy). I had the idea of kangaskhan as well but I sometimes detest coin flips so that’s why I resort to marowak. I’d definitely say this video’s deck is better than my marowak idea for the fact that it only has golem as the Pokémon that has an evolution line which means the rest of the basic Pokémon can just jump into action and do what they gotta do (serve as walls to give golem enough time to prepare). Edit: Trivial fact (probably). If golem is taking -30 from the next attack and golem is at full health, celebi ex needs quadruple heads to one shot it despite the grass weakness. I admire the durability of the new and improved golem (cya old golem, never knew ya).

Aweasome games, really brilliant deck. One thing thag makes me smile is you do this little 'flourish' with your mouse qhen you're hype, when adding energy onto a pokemon or dragging a card somewhere and stuff like that. It's the same mannerism you used to do when dragging your cards onto the board to attack in Legends of Runeterra ☺️

I have been using Golem/Kabutops since the expansion's release as I didnt open amy Mews or Celebis, and it has been surprisongly effective. Excited to see your cook.
The new ponyta and rapidash are absolutely insane, with Blaine they are now sometimes better than Ninetails I think, just waiting for the second rapidash myself
i played the new golem deck with the new primeape because it offers a really good first turn attacker. One copy of marshadow for the 5th basic pokemon can revenge kill after someone dies and golem can clean the end game. Stage 2 can be rought to set. Having another reliable option i think it's important. Loved the deck
I will not lie: I thought Genetic Apex only had Geodude and Graveller 😭 then again it makes sense why noone uses the old one because someone was ABSOLUTELY koffing that Poké-pack making it. Also you never fail to cook with your deck names 😂
Drudd has no weakness, retreats for one less and can do damage with no energy if the opponent tries to chip at it. On the other hand, not having an attack is rough.
@@Lulink013 Yea, in my experience you just don't attack it and you build something up and it gets taken out for little value. It's like Snorlax but better, but still not as reliable as Kang
The unfortunate thing about this deck is it’s kinda hard counter by what is seen as the top deck rn, similar to Starmie and Pikachu, Golem is hard countered by Celebi, not only is it weak to grass, but Celebi is able to deal damage waaaaay over the amount weakened, 4 heads is the minimum after Golem attacks is enough to one shot it
Another great deck! Amazing explanation as always. Your videos inspired me to build my own deck which is Aerodactyl ex, Arbok, Mew ex without psychic energy. This gave me the new emblem early. I hope you try it
i played pokemon trading card game for gameboy years ago. but my main deck was charizard, hitmonchan, and scyther. the deck was fast due to professor oak, double colorless energy, and bill.
I'm playing a list with double Cubone and Marowak EX instead of Brocks and Kangaskan Farfetch'd and playing X Speed in the empty slot, the deck itself I think is very good and have nice match against Mewtwo EX decks, the problem is that is full weekness to Grass and you're cooked by Celebi EX decks, otherwise go very good, you play your early plan with Marowak and when you stop feeding him 2 energies you start to build the Golem, and use the low energy recs Geodude and Graveler from Apex they can also stand up on early if you dont open with Cubone line

You should try Beheeyem(psychic alien) PigeotEX and 1 mewEX I beat a celebi deck with it that got all it's pieces but the second celebi. Beheeyem has the same effect as pigeot and can do up to 70 dmg for only 1 energy. The whole teams only got 1 retreat so using the right pokemon to tank and apply pressure is paramount.
31:48 megamogway if you just attacked with golem, either mew would strikes back with 90 dmg (100 dmg with Giovanni ) you would survive with 10 HP and finished him afterwards. I did'nt get the point in pivot them.
Hey Mogwai, how do you feel about Gengar EX with Beheeyem and pokemon flute? A 1 energy attacker that can hit for 70 makes that deck feel so much better.
I wanna see a marshadow deck next one I had a few fun games with is Promo mankey into gen. apex primape, marshadow and aerodactyl ex. main combo is the primeape line which kills basically everything but the tankier ex's and if they knock out your primape, with a marshadow in the back you can normally kill it even after potions. Neither are ex so trading for one is good value
Volcorona can work with drudd and greninja, you just not focusing drudd as an attacker as much as mogwai did in his prior video. Like the drudd pigeot deck mainly uses drudd as a tank and pigeot as the attacker
I was looking into this archtype. This deck will be very fun to play! Also why not the new dragon basic for tanking? Better to apply pressure with Kahngaskahn?
MegaMog can you make a poliwrath/Drudigon deck? Poli only need 1 water energy for his 3 energy attack, also both of them punish rivals with counterattacks. I think it would be fun.
There is nothing about old and new...those are two different attacks of golem...every pokemon has different attacks in pokemon world...and those are not updates...for example mew ex has genome hacking as a powerful attack and the same mew has psyreport as a basic attack..so those are not updates nor different pokemon..but are same Pokémon with different attacking statergy..Hope u guys understand
I've noticed you've kind of fallen into the pattern of always having 5 basic pokemon and all the stage 1/2s connected with them. I know there are occasional exceptions like with Pikachu ex decks or with that solo salandit you had recently, but by in large that seems like the magic formula. I'd love to hear some more in depth reasoning on why you've decided that's usually the right amount.
He actually had it in the original build. He probably changed it because it can't hit active mons and golem sometimes fails to finish stuff off and the opponent can stay in. That's why farfetched instead. Only speculation though I didn't watch the whole stream. Personally I played it with Hitmonlee and it felt terrible as a whole. I won 1 out of 6 games. 2 Mewtwo, one celebi, 2 misty, one blain. Beat a misty.
Why not drudigon or a tauros BTW? I feel like having the option between one of them and kangs might cover more situations. Tauros also loves giovani to one shot the 130hp ex club. Also I wish this deck could affort using a chatot for finding golem+brock, but the early pressure seems too key...

No Kangaskans here, so... I guess 2 Hitmonchans. Maybe even a Hitmonlee.
Try it with Druddigon, imo it's better than Kang anyways. Plus it can fix math for Golem without putting you back an energy

I have Pigeot EX and Beheeyem deck. 2 flutes and redcard. They always try to counter by not putting bench, but then that red card hits so sweeet!
Old golem is NOT bad. It can one shot most EX in the game, and can run in dual energy, even none fighting energy deck since we have Brock.

yeah thats why i use druddigon to deal extra 20. then golem can 1 shot celebi or simply use giovanni

I run this with mew and 2 explorer its a very strong combo. Mew can stall with the supporter card and it counters mew2 and zard
use druddigon instead of farfetch d and kangaskhan, more stable, more strong wall, extra 20 dmg is great

volco,drud and ninja. try that
Volc surely doesn't work in a dual colour deck. It discards 2 fire energy each time it attacks, which is pretty brutal even in a pure fire deck.

It is good, but seeing that celebi is the new meta pokemon, you probably should not use this as this deck is extremely weak against celeby deck
