As someone who heard about the anime and manga 8 months before the anime came out. And now on my 3rd reread of the manga, this has to be one of the best manga of all time. No spoilers of course, it just gets better. I never cared for the sports anime just because I never cared for sports and power of friendship with hard work on the side type shows as a forefront in what I like to watch or read. So hearing about a football anime adaptation, of a manga with some god tier levels of detail and drawings, that break that in my eyes stale mold of sports, I just had to read the first chapters of it to see what it was about. And that was how I read all 100ish chapters at the time and continue to read it now and even reread currently

Giant Killing was a great football anime that came out a few years ago. Only one season, but what's there is pretty good. You should check it out.
