Man I hate how people choose to twist her words; you can grow up not listening to someone and still find a love for that person as you get older. She's just saying her direct influence has ALWAYS been Lauryn and Erykah etc but started listening to Aaliyah later in life and now loves her. Where was the shade everyone is talking about? I grew up being obsessed with Mary j blige because of my mom, but I was compared to Demi lovato as a teenager when I started singing more and I obviously LOVE her, but she wasn't my main influence when it came to singing.
