I think some artists mentioned that it's easier to visualize a chord on a piano (could just be me speculating though).
I'm a dude with deep voice, I listen to alot of metal & hardcore music but I cry everytime I listen TK first take because I watched Tokyo ghoul, I know the story & I know this is how Kaneki would sing for his suffering & pain, so that's why his high pitch voice fits so well. Kaneki felt so weak, he was nice kid but harsh reality made him do things he never wish to do. He's so broken inside only time will tell.

@@brunchclub2996 you're so cringe bruh. I watched both anime and manga and I understand that they are edgy af but the anime so much more ,like they did the anime so so dirty.
By skipping most of Kaneki's trauma inducing experiences they made him appear just like an edgelord in the anime while in the manga he's so much more than that. And the sad part is that both fans and haters made edits of some panels like "I am tragedy" and "I am dead inside". In reality he never said these things.
Like yeah Kaneki is kinda edgy but the good kind not the "I am 14 and this deep" kind.
Also, remember that Ken just wanted to get laid.

Thank you for doing the live version as well. Nobody really does that but it’s my personal favorite.
Unravel deserves all the love it gets because it’s such an amazing song and the lyrics are beautiful and incredibly moving.
Tk did another song on the first take called "Copy Light" if you want to check it out. I personally like it more than unravel :)
That one and "Melt" are one of the bests
Great react, TK has a great voice and both performances are amazing. The group Co Shu Nie has a performance in piano version of Asphyxia (The first opening to Tokyo Ghoul Re:) in Frist Take, the original version is quite similar of Unravel.
Just found this video through algorithm. My advanced sincerest apology if I jumped to the wrong conclusion, or showed too much aggression through my affection towards UNRAVEL.
From my first impression on the title of this video, Megan do play piano? (There's a piano in her background, after all.) So, If Megan is interested in this UNRAVEL rabbit hole, I'd like to recommend Animenz's UNRAVEL piano cover. I've seen dozens of people who got inspired to learn piano by Animenz' cover, and it's undoubtedly one of the most popular UNRAVEL cover on UA-cam. I'm sure pianists or piano lovers would appreciate Animenz brilliant arrangement and performance.
On another note, IMO, the English translation of the lyrics in the First Take video is not "to the heart" enough. Also, TK's unique high-pitch singing style is probably partially affected by 'Eastern' culture's conservativeness on expressing feelings. (I'm a Taiwanese who has relatives living in California for decades.) For an English native speaker to fully grasp the atmosphere of this song, I'd recommend Jonathan Young's English cover. Not only did he adopt a more 'Western' style to interpret UNRAVEL, his translation/paraphrasing of the theme, and the way he delivered the rhythm of the vocal is so different, yet so aligned to TK's original.
Anyway, thank you guys for making this video. It's a pleasure to witness a fresh face getting more and more impressed by UNRAVEL.

Man, I love Unravel more than anybody else but the ED of Tokyo Ghoul is criminally overshadowed. Just listen to Amazarashi - Ally of the masochistic house. Get some lyrics in, its a literal poetry and manages to tell a story so deep, no other song can compete. I suggest everyone to give it a try.
I would like to point out to the lady who loved this song that there is actually a FAMOUS solo piano arrangement for this song by a youtube channel "Animenz" that she very much would love.

One can say that Animenzzz is an old timer youtuber especially in this community. But the name and the stuff that he did can be called legendary on its own. You can say that he is one of the pioneers of piano cover of anime music at that time. From the beautiful arrangement that he made to the sheer technique that he displayed, made me in awe first time watching him.
That's why It'll be fun and interesting, and more educational too, to hear about it from another pianist perspective

If I remember correctly for the reacting to things from the first take channel, you dont have to cut for copy right because they 1. Change it up from the original song, 2. They get permission from the artist and the channel itself allows reacting to it

High pitched male singing is wayyy harder and way more of a talent than any deep voice male singer. Doesn’t mean you have to like it better, but it takes a lot more talent to keep high pitches as a man, so men that can sing high pitched are more talented than women who do the same, because that’s expected
