      Wonder Boy- Please read to comprehend and not just to reply. I said “PLEASE show MORE” and no I didn’t say she’s showing the “bad things” . It’s just a suggestion for her to show more of those small businesses that are on the rise, many don’t market their business as much so it’s hard to know where they are due to many constraints. We just want to support the ones that are also trying to be as big or even bigger than Yosh. It is her vlog and can post want she feels like good or bad ( no country is perfect) but just a suggestion as most vloggers will ask their subscribers what they would like to see more of. Peace!

Just because they are dealing with a native that does not mean their agenda has changed. During chattel slavery there was a lot of raping and buck breaking going on but that did not mean they love us. She came to Gambia because was tired of working, so now she has Gambians doing the work and she can lay back and enjoy some BBC.

      @rolandmarkland6844 4 роки тому +1

      @Wonder Boy Perhaps you should learn how to write proper English before calling me stupid. With that being said, I stand by my original statement. Many of us in the diaspora want to see African own businesses in Africa so when we go there we can patronize them with our American dollars. I am starting to think that you are the real hater. You seem to have a problem with African Americans. For the record, we do quite well for ourselves here. The average black household income in America is about $60,000 per year compared to the average Gambian household income of $2,500. Before, you try to demonized my culture, you need to stop kissing European asses and work on creating opportunities for the Gambian people and especially the youth. You are the type of "African" who would beg the European to come back and recolonize Gambia. I was right, you have a colonized mind and you love you colonizer more than you love yourself and your people.

    • @rolandmarkland6844
      @rolandmarkland6844 4 роки тому

    • @Africa1000
      @Africa1000 4 роки тому +4

      @Bassman Njie You seem to be going to great lengths to defend white people... It is this dependency on white (and other) people that holds Africa and its people back.
      You constantly refer to "jobs" being created by them.... Tell me what jobs you mean? Do you mean the low paying subsistence level salaries which result in keeping Africans poor? Whilst they may offer some short term relief against purely subsistence level poverty, these are not the "jobs" that will empower and enhance our people. That can only come about by us being determined to work together as Africans and help each other and ensure that our leaders are held truly accountable.
      The truth is that constantly promoting non African businesses keeps the real money in the hands of outsiders with the chicken feed going to a few chefs or other low paid African staff. It's not just Gambia. It is happening all over Africa and we must come together to put a stop to it and you can start by stopping being so obsequious towards white people. Please learn your history and you will quickly understand why we Africans are in this position.
      As a final point..... I strongly suspect you have never lived outside Africa and probably see most white people as benign benefactors and look to them as some kind saviour. That may be the impression you have of most of them but the reality is very different to the relaxed sun tanned tourists you might bump into on the beach or the Senegambia strip. Or even the few who live there. This should not be taken as the yardstick by which you measure them.
      To fully understand the racial dynamics you have to have to know them inside out in their own environment. Some are good but let's face it why do you think they are in Africa? You would be foolish to think the vast majority are there for altruistic reasons. To blindly trust and deceive yourself in this way could ultimately lead to your downfall. You probably believe all those trite notions of us "all being the same" or that "there is good and bad in all people" but that is nonsense.
      You take yourself off to Europe, USA, China, India, Lebanon and you will soon find out how they treat you there. Then compare that with the way so many of our people lick the boots of these people when they come to our land.
      Time to wake up!!

      @Bassman Njie OK. Even if you live in the UK you certainly were not born and brought up there. There is a huge difference. You probably arrived as an adult and still have plenty to learn. My comment is nothing to do with hate. It is about supporting each other as Africans. You can respect and work with white people without kissing their backsides. All you need to do is show the same respect and support for your fellow Africans and understand the social and historical context of our condition... Maybe then you will learn not to confuse my desire to cherish and support all things African with hate for others!

      @Wonder Boy The B1 talk is a new strain of hateful, racist nastiness pushed by some on UA-cam and Twitter. It used to be about black empowerment and forward thinking with a UA-camr named the Black Authority and Professor Black Truth. Now, it just seems to be a cesspool of anger and nastiness. It had a great potential for empowerment. But it has dwarfed into something ugly. But not all AAs are like that. I also hope it isn't imported into your country. I think some were afraid that it is what Art Cathey is doing. But I think most AA are coming to start a new life and find a place that feels like home. And would like to give something back to their new home like Black Acres. My fear is they will get mixed in with the new nastiness and Gambia will no longer want to see AA coming. A few ALWAYS tend to mess things up for the masses. And the loud, nasty group is really very few...but really loud.

    Thanks for posting, Isatu Bokum's Vlogs, please remember to use your face mask, and keep a good distance at all times and we always think it cant happen to us, but to others? Please use your mask, you can make home made ones with your beautiful hollandaise prints that you wear all the time. The restaurant is nice, it offers locals jobs, and the lady has a Gambian family by marriage. People must think before yapping, because the Chinese in Nigeria only hire from China to execute their Nigerian projects, then attack Africans in China; the Indians in Nigeria only employ Indians from Asia; now this Swiss woman employs Gambians, creating jobs for people who might have drowned in the Atlantic Ocean in search of asylum elsewhere, and rigid thinkers now blame Gambian Government, these same people have endured racial brutalities over 400 years until suddenly they all wake up to blame Africa and their government for their own slumber. God Bless.

    Sister Isatu,
    I love your video vlogs and I have the utmost respect for you. You are a beautiful Black woman internally as well as externally. However............
    I "MUST" say this: What is the government of Gambia thinking!!!!
    That Swedish White women who even admitted that once she was an alcoholic, couldn't even own a restaurant like that in her own
    country..and then she gets this idea to go to "The Gambia" and "OWN"!!!!!!
    that Exquisite Awesome Restaurant!!! She should not even be allowed to own real estate like that in "The Gambia.". When you interviewed her and said that she was the owner!!!!....I felt "SICK' to
    my stomach!!!!!!
    I cry out to the Government of "The Gambia..... Please Do Not Let Them
    Take Over!!!!
    Just like several brothers said in the comment section..and I totally agree with them: The West and White People don't give a damn about Africa and Black People... please do not let history repeat itself! When I do come to "The Gambia"...I am "NOT" going to patronize her Restaurant. Africa should be only for indigenous Africans and African descendants in the Diaspora. How on Earth can an Alcoholic with probably no Restaurant experience own that massive property in "The Gambia.". I also call that "White Supremacy" because they still think they are entitled to "EVERYTHING"!!!
    Her Ancestors were "COLONIZERS."
    I knew that was to good to be true!!!!
    At first when I saw how beautiful the place is...I said to myself...Wow!!! It's really nice to now that my African Brothers and Sisters own something like that!!! When you showed the real owner...I was so disappointed that I fell out of my chair!!! That's a Shame, Shame, Shame!!!!!!!!
    Finally, like I said before Isatu....I will continue subscribing to your very informative channel. I don't blame you...I blame the leaders of the Gambian Government. I hope they will wake up!! They are asleep at the wheel!!!!!
    "I love you beautiful sister!!!!!
