BAYEUX TAPESTRY
Bayeux Tapestry, the world’s most renowned tapestry or piece of needlework, is 230 feet long and 20 inches high! It depicts the events leading up to the Battle of Hastings and the battle. We provide a couple links ultimately for your enjoyment.
This first one is even a bit animated by the video creator to help “tell” the story as it narrates the events depicted by the embroidery. • The Bayeux Tapestry - ...
This one is a history buff’s target as it discusses a great deal of the piece’s history as well as what it depicts.

Liz and Deb, I have binge watched all of your videos including the two after this one. So now what do I do. I watch them a second time. The two of you are fantastic together. You can see the wonderful friendship you both have. You both make my day, and that includes Hank and Ivan too . Thank you.
Deb I want to thank you for answering my question.
Deb Glastetter
You are so sweet! Thank you so much!!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
❤️Deb&Liz
Everything you ladies do is spectacular, but that WTNT snow globe finish is AMAZING!! I'm just blown away by your ingenuity and creativity!
Toni StitchesinKY
Thank you so much!!❤️❤️
Deb, your snow globe is beautiful. I also liked the Truck Snow Globe chart. Your stitching is so precise. Thanks for the needleminder. I am always so inspired by your work, Liz and Deb.
I love your videos but don’t tell nobody but I think it’s the best on UA-cam even better than stitching with the housewives is that you learn you learn so much from your UA-cam I love the globe and I just love you girls so happy Stitchen see you next time Rebecca
New at watching floss tube but you all are by far my favorite, inspiring and enjoyable to watch!!!
It was such a pleasure to sit and stitch you ladies yesterday! Deb, the snow globe is wonderful! Thanks for inspiring me! Hope to see you guys again soon!
Meghan Neely
Thanks Meghan!
It was wonderful to hang out together! I didn’t get a lot of stitching done but the conversation was much more important!!
❤️Deb
You both are so funny. I love it you both always make me smile. Thank you Vanessa White
I am so addicted to your channel. Love the info and the relationship you have!
Love the snow globe ornament 😍. Thanks for another wonderful video ladies.
Groetjes, Evelien
Aweeewsome snow globe finish!!!!!
I was blessed to see the Bayeux tapestry in person in France. It’s fascinating. The piece is in one room in a glass case that’s in a rectangle. And then you walk around it. It’s stunning in person. What an accomplishment for the man who replicated it. I enjoyed my time with you today.
Wow, that would be so wonderful to see!!!
❤️
Country Stitchers it was. ❤️
Hi Deb ,your snow globe is just adorable.
Afternoon ladies... WOWWW Absolutely Gorgeous Snow Globe... just a wee tad too far for me... have fun,,, making Christmas cards while visiting... Happy crafting... xx Louisa..
Adorable finishDeb loved the video
Away a great and video.....the stocking is amazing....tasseling making look interesting
I love your snow globe. It is so cute.!
That globe is awesome...very nice.
Great video, love the snow globe, until next time..
The snow globe and stocking are amazing. Good luck with the jump, Deb. You are a brave woman.
I love Sarah’s bags. Boxed bottoms are my fave. Happy Thanksgiving to you both! 🦃
Loved the laugh right off the bat. LOL Your snow globe is beautiful Deb. Thanks for all you share.WOW that piece is huge wonder where they found a place to hang something that long???LOL Happy stitching
Thanks for watching! The size of it and to stitch it in your living room 3-4 years! Patient wife! We appreciate that you share our humor😂Liz and Deb
Love the little metal box. I would suggest maybe putting a lg flat washer on back of needlework and glue strong magnet glued in top of box. If strong enough it might work and you could use washers on all top pieces. Love your videos! The snow globe is stunning!
Hi Kim, I don’t know if you saw it, but I just put a magnet under the Aida on the piece itself. You got me thinknig though - I try not to permanently alter the object. But, if I put a washer into the piece in place of my magnet, I wouldn’t have to glue a magnet into the lid, it would stick to the lid top and to the washer. Easy Peasy! Thanks!! 💕Liz
You two have fun doing this, we have fun with you! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos - not only are they enjoyable but informative as well. I love seeing your finishes (well, everything)!
Love your videos. I’ve replayed multiple times and took notes on your snow globe 😂. I’m determined to make one! Envious of who is lucky enough to win it. Wish I lived close to you so I could participate.
Great video, love the snow globe!
Ladies...Another fabulous video! Liz..Love that idea for the little tin box...
Very clever and cute!I love "small finishes" like that for special little gifts!
And Deb.....that snowglobe.....oh my stars!!!
(You really need to get one done with Liz....she seems pretty sad about that!LOL
Definitely going to try and come to the Christmas event on the 12th!!
Deb...what was the snow "stuff" you used on the tin base of your globe?
Thank you for always providing a video full of good ideas and smiles galore!!!
Hi from York, PA! I am new to floss tube videos and was so excited to see that you are just across the river in Lancaster!
Wow I thoroughly enjoyed your video this week. How I wish I lived near you, I would love to go to your two events coming up. I feel so remote here in scotland. Deb that snow globe is fantastic, you are one talented lady. Liz you make me laugh every video I love your sense of humour! Looking forward to your next video with bated breath. Xx
The snow globe is super cute. Always a joy to watch you both. 🌻🌻🌻
You two are always SO much fun to watch!
Deb, your snow globe is the cutest thing I've ever seen! I can't believe you're giving it away. If I lived closer, you bet that I would be at Stitches Unlimited for a chance to win it and of course to spend time with the two of you and Pat.
The portable lamp I had with me at the shop is the Daylight Halo 8D Table Magnifier. I bought mine at Amazon but some needlework shops now carry it. It folds flat so it's perfect for traveling. I even have used it on a flight overseas. I understand there is now a battery operated version.
I had to laugh about Deb leaving her orts behind. After our 4-year old granddaughter leaves, we often find glitter from her clothing. We now call it "Katie dust". So after Deb leaves you could call her left behind orts "Deb dust". You could even collect them and give them back to her at Christmas in one of those clear ornament balls.
Thank you for all you all do to share the joy of needlework.
Ellen - that snow globe is sumthin! Thank you for the info on the light. I will give that another look. My granddaughters just got a ‘care package’ from me full of rot making potential! I sure enjoy stitching with them. 💕Liz
I absolutely love videos. Glad I got to meet you in October, hoping to make more events in the future. Not sure if I can make either upcoming event yet. Your both amazing and so is your friendship that you share. Thanks for all you both do for the stitching community. ❤
Deb snow globe is amazing.!!!
Thanks again for a great video! You leave me with smiles and inspiration. 🥰
Great video. The snow globe is Beautiful TYFS (Pauline S)
awesome finish on globe
Loving your project bags. I enjoy the one`s that I make and use. Love Deb`s snow globe and will put that pattern on my wish list. Happy Stitching ladies.
Oh girls, how I love watching you. I recently picked up cross stitching again on a project I had started 20 years ago. After all this time, I needed magnifying & better light sources. (embarrassing) But with your encouragement, I am now really going to town. Boy, have things changed! And like you have said, my tastes have changed also. Am really enjoying your videos & feel like we're old friends. Diana
Diana- welcome back to Needlework! That is such fun to hear and you are right- things have changed! Thank you for your support and for joining us. 💕Liz and Deb
@@countrystitchers I followed my mother's example cross stitching in 1972 when my son was born (hence the birth sampler). At age 96, she finally had to give it up because of her sight & gave me a couple of projects to finish. I then realized that I had my own that needed to be finished. Including last year, my mother stitched all of her Christmas cards. She is amazing & quite a role model.
Liz and Deb, AWESOME video, thank for sharing. I love the snow globe, what a great idea❄☃️❄
The snow globe is fantastic! How generous to give it away! I hope you both make one together. Thank you for all you do to promote stitching! Wish I lived near you two!
We are hoping to do just that! How are things going for you? Feeling well? Thinking of you, 💕😉Liz and Deb
Country Stitchers I am feeling a bit better so we are hopeful the IVIG is starting to help. Of course the Rx runs out in January and the dr wants me to take a break from it and see how long before I deteriorate before starting me back on it. Thank you for asking! 😊
I am new to watching you two lovely ladies, and because of you two I am going to start stitching again, it has been over 20 years since I did some stitching. I was self taught so I think this time around I will get instructions from others who have been doing this awhile like you Deb and Liz.
Wow, what a snow globe! Deb, your creativity amazes me!!
Love you guys. I wish I lived around there so I could stitch with you guys. Deb the snow globe is STUNNING.
Deb your snow globe is beautiful! Wow! Liz thank you for sharing the amazing long tapestry.
☃️ Your snow globe idea is out standing! Great video! 🐝
On how I wish I lived closer and could join in the fun with you both. The snow globe is sew beautiful.Deb you r so gifted.Enjoy you both, thanks for making me smile.
Oh my word!!! The snowglobe is beautiful!!! Awesome creativity!
I have to tell yal that I "collect" ugly Christmas sweaters. Not the lame one that people make for parties now a days but true vintage Ugly Chistmas sweaters. I even found a new purple one today and was so happy with it. Don't knock em until you wear them ALL of December! I look forward to Deb wearing hers next week......
The snow globe is gorgeous!! I wish Texas was a little closer...I would come for a visit for sure!! Deb you are so creative with so many of your finishes. Happy stitching, y’all!!
Like all of your subscribers, I LOVE watching and listening to you two! You not only make me laugh but I do my nightly stitching while listening to your videos and it's like being with good friends. And added bonus...I learn SO much. I'm a gadget person (but only like gadgets that really work!) and so far, my thread separator from Puffin and my needle parker from Margaret Lee have really made a nice difference in the speed of my stitching.
Speaking of learning, I have been noticing how impactful the backstitching is in Deb's work and want to know if you will do a tutorial on it. I'd like to know about what colors that your find create certain effects, how you choose what to outline and can you you a demo of the different types of backstitching you might do such as quarter stitches, etc. You may have already done a vid on this but I haven't come across it yet. I've started at the beginning of your posts and am only about a quarter of the way through. Hope you can see your way to doing this, as the vids I've researched on YT just aren't much more than very beginner stuff. Keep up the very good work and all the laughs!!
That snow globe is adorable!! Such talent, Deb!!
Deb - your snow globe is so beautiful. I don't know how you can bear to give it away, but I wish I could enter! It may be a long way for me to come for the day from the UK, though! x
Beautiful Snow Globe! I LOVE Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher Magazine. I look forward to watching you Wonderful Ladies. Thank you for taking your time to share.
Shawn, thank you for your support and that PNPS mag is great - right! 💕Liz and Deb
Interesting things. Thank you.
Hi! Thank you for a great video! Love the snowglobe and how you completed it. In your next video can you show the snow that you used inn the candle base? Enjoy the weekend! Lori at Once Upon a Stitch
I so enjoy watching you while I Stitch! That snow globe is just amazing! 💕Michele
That was another fun filled visit! Liz, you were so comical this week. Love your giggly laugh! Deb, the snow globe is absolutely beautiful! You are so creative! I'm learning to look at "things" differently when I shop now. Always thinking how I can use it in finishing something. Thank you for that.
The snow globe is gorgeous. Poor Liz! Maybe you can put your name in the draw too! I’ll see you in December. I told my husband I will give him a list.
Kathy, that’s great we look forward to seeing you! We will be ready to do elf duty...could even do the list if it was from you and not your hubby! Liz and Deb
Deb! That snow globe is beautiful! Thank you ladies for such good and enjoyable videos. I always learn something and love to watch you two. Thanks.
Love the snow globe finish. Good luck with your "drop" and your husband's.
Jacqueline Leibfried
Thanks so much! I just hope the weather is good!!🤞🏻
❤️Deb
Omg your snow globe is amazing.....😍😍😍😍
Love love love your snow globe.
Oh Deb, that snow globe! WOW! Thanks for the inspiration. I just love you ladies. Hugs to everyone and kisses to Hank and Ivan.
Wow, Deb's snowman finish is amazing! Love Liz's ort box topper and magnet idea. Also, Liz can you share where you find the clear tags to use on project bags? What a great idea!
Hi Maria the tags were Sarah’s brainchild - the woman who made the bags. I will check on them and put the info in the drop box. Sarah’s information is already in the Dropbox. Thank you for your support!💕Liz and Deb
AWWW!! Snow globe is so cute and wish I could be there, but we will be at a wedding in Tennessee that weekend. We will at our destination on Dec. 12th. Have loads of fun and best luck to whoever is the recipient of your adorable globe.
Deb your snow globe is gorgeous . You are so talented. I wish I lived close would love to go to the sit and stitch.
Keep up the good work ladies , you inspire me to keep stitching.
So enjoyed watching another video, so hilarious and imformative, Love your works, and look foward to seeing your wip progress. I think my credit card is going to melt, you are such enablers........love the Winter Commeth pattern , paused the video and switched over to 123 stitch and ordered it. Grrrh! LOL The snow globe is fantastic. Happy stitching.
Love your video as always. Liz I thought you’d be interested to know that I stitched the Amish Alphabet in the late 90's as a Round Robin. I’m in the U.K. but the group was international - 26 of us around the world so all of our pieces travelled thousands of miles before coming back home Hope to see you stitch yours next year Take care
I love your snow globe Deb. I’m inspired! I save my orts all year and in the spring I throw them outside in the yard. The birds love them to make their nests. Keep up the good work gals, I look forward to your videos.
Another great video! I loved seeing the Bayeux tapestry reference. I am fortunate to have seen it in person when my daughter and I went to France on a 13 day trip with her high school French Club. It was displayed in a darkened room under special lighting. It was beautiful and I can't image stitching it. Beautiful finish on the snow globe. Deb, will you be working on ornaments all around anytime soon? Thanks for the visit!
Wow, what a trip, that must have been incredible. I can’t imagine the story, I am looking forward to the video!💕Liz
I believe I would have lots of fun hanging out with the two of you!! Unfortunately, Liz left me back in Iowa! LOVE that snowglobe!!! Some of you on Flosstube are so creative. I am a "pattern" girl. Give me a pattern and I can make it, but I can't come up with any creative ideas at all!
Sorry Becky! I may be in Chicago come February to visit. That will be the first time since 2009!
Where in IOWA? You never know how it might click - one day you may just see something a bit different and off you go on a creative flair! But I think if you can follow a pattern you are in the company of a small group of people☺️. Going from the written pattern to the finished item is a talent in and of itself. I think we need each area of skills! Thank you for watching and for your support💕Liz and Deb
I live too far from Chicago...way down in southern Iowa near the Missouri border!
Hi Liz, hi Deb!! So enjoyable. Late to the party but I saw your stocking last week right away! Anyway Deb, that snow globe is what Liz said...MAGNIFICENT!!! I have to lovingly say something - Deb, your reactions when Liz says ‘Deb, remember when’ or ‘Deb, what was the name of...’. is priceless, lolol. Anyway, hope you guys have a great week no matter what you do! xo tina
Such a creative finish for the snowman pattern! You are both very inspiring and reminds me how much fun it is to share our love of this hobby with friends.
OR is a long way from you but I so enjoy stitching along with you. I was fortunate to see the original tapestry in France and it is amazing. I can’t imagine the effort and time it would take to stitch it.
Thanks again for a great visit Ladies. Love you guys! In case we don't you before, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hi Deb and Liz! Thank you for the wonderful video. The snow globe is absolutely gorgeous! Wish I could make it over to Lancaster. Have fun.....Crystal
Your snow person in the snow globe is adorable. I also liked the box top idea. Happy stitching!
Snow globe is beautiful! Hopefully I can make it on the 12th. Love the gadget this week.
Love sharing in the fun you have together. The snowglobe is awesome. Thanks ladies.
I just found your channel and love it. The snow glob is fantastic!
🤗 Another fun and interesting visit with Deb and Liz! Deb that snow globe is lovely, whoever gets that will be very lucky!
I picked up the pattern for the stocking you showed. So excited to see it stiched up. I am going to make it into to a sampler when i do it. I will have to graph it out. Will post when done.
Rebecca Look forward to seeing your sampler! Thank you for your support, Liz and Deb
Love, love, love the snow globe! Unfortunately, Mississippi is a little too far to come, but I’ll be thinking of y’all!
Fun update! Great idea to change out the tin box top! The snow globe is beautiful! ☃️
Thanks Liz for showing the rod fabric holder - you had described it well in your email... I always use a frame of some sort to stitch and have been wanting to try stitching in hand again... maybe this will be a good transition.
Both of your finishes are great ... the ideas as always good.
The Bayeux Tapestry is usually housed in France but is currently on loan to UK. There are kits showing certain segments available. Currently there is a stitcher in China reproducing a historical river scene - she has been working on it for the past ten years ( maybe more by now ). There are a few such ‘epic’ pieces available all over the world ... each unique and amazing in their own right.
Nupur thank you for the addl information. Liz
Absolutely love the snow globe! Deb, you forgot to tell us about the snow you used on the metal container, could you please do so on your next video😊 Thanks for all you do ladies!
Hi Liz and Deb! Thank you sooo much for sharing about the sit and stitch! I am so excited for this: it's my first one! I've been wanting to make it up to stitches unlimited for a while but it hadn't worked with my schedule. Yay! Will you guys be joining us? I can't wait to meet you 😊. I'm also hoping to get to the event near Gettysburg in March! Hope you have a great weekend❤️
That globe is out of this world. I just love it . Wonderful job. Wish I could come to win that . Thanks for sharing.
Orphaned Random Thread.. (ORT). Courtesy of Flannel Jammies Far,, I think? Donna Rae did the ort ornament last year on her flosstube. It was surprisingly beautiful!
I really enjoyed your flosstube tonight while I stitched. I lived in MD for thirty years and used to love driving up to your Lancaster area often with friends to shop. I miss it now that we live in Utah. I loved the ort box and will try it. Also loved Deb’s globe, but probably won’t try it. It is really beautiful. Thanks for giving us your time and sharing the fun.
Your snow globe is Amazing! So pretty. You Both are rest talented. I watched you as I ate warm homemade tapioca pudding.yum........
Wonderful snow globe
Love you ladies ❤
Hi guys! I just finished Winter Cometh and shared that on my FlossTube. It only took me about 2 weeks to do. It was so much fun!! You will love it!
Ya'll have a awesome video!!
Absolutely love the globe! So creative!
So enjoy seeing all your projects, especially the snow globe (the inspiration is on my radar)! It certainly is putting me in the Christmas Stitch Spirit😁
The snow globe is just amazing!!!
The snow globe is beautiful. Spectacular finishing!
Thank you Deb for the episode 30!!
Thank you so much ladies for the shout-out!! Your compliments were so appreciated. Love the Winter Cometh piece Liz. Liz, your request for box bottom received and will do!!!
Sarah - thank you! Liz
You’re braver than I’d ever be!! Not even if I was on the amazing race lol. Ooh I’m a winner yay!! Thank you. Wonderful ornament designs Love the PS ornament. Very clever. I think I’ll do my Ort box that I have like that too. I need that tassel maker. It’s so cool. The stitching of the tapestry helped him deal with death of his sons I think. Maria is my gf and I think he went to their guild. Thank you for visiting
Patti Dagg
Deb your snow globe is lovely 😍, what a fab idea! Very interesting talk about the Bayeaux tapestry Liz. Thank you both xx
Yeah that was a good laugh Liz! All in good fun! Always so fun and relaxing spending time with you!
