Thank you!! I am a beginner knitter and I have been looking for a tutorial that shows multiple rows decreasing. Also I just found out what a raglan is. Thank you so much.
Hi Sheila I hope you have got more people interested in knitting I have loved my knitting since I was 7 so wouldn’t like to be without it. I hope you get lots of subscribers you deserve it . You made me laugh when you said I will show again in case anyone wasn’t paying attention good teacher. Bye love Sandra x
Thank you Sheila, it’s so nice to learn accurate knitting skills and strategies from a professional knitter. My granddaughter’s cardigan will be completed with love and wonderful shaping. Thanks again.
On a normal sweater how do you calculate how many stiches to decrease? Would you just decrease 2 stiches on every plain row till you just have a few stitches on your needle?
Thats hard to say because what do u consider to make the sweater normal? Say u just want a standard fit set in sleeve. If you’re working on 2.75 mm needles in 80 stchs I would do a slope dec of 11 then 9 then 7 and so on. On each side till I had no stchs left for the sleeve cap. If I was using a chunky yarn on 8mm needles and I have 30 stchs it’s gonna be very different right so I’d do 4 then 3 then 2 or contingent on how sharp I’d want the slope to be but instead of going in odds I’d decrease by almost one. For a raglan sleeve u don’t need a slope because it’s a triangular sleeve cap so you’d decrease by the same number each row.
I am just learning and find this hard shaping the raglan now the way ur doing this looks easy I am following sombusy and it's hard

Want shaping of Back part of baby's matinee coat raglan shaping
She is not doing raglan shaping, she is simply decreasing at each end of a flat piece.
Decreasing on a flat piece is how raglan shapings are done
@@sheilassocrafty I now see that you’re absolutely correct.
