Almost died in the last part when I was a kid. Surprised it's still there. It's the exact same construction of what they call a "drowning machine".

0:22 for the people that dont know. This is a spot where u can sit. There are bubbles there. This is mid the wild water slide and the current is slower here. You can choose to sit down or ride the slide fully. You can also exit the slide here as u can see by the stairs

The rapids at Sherwood Center Parcs in England is based on this one, it's almost the same design.

@@karismilligan5700 I haven't actually been to this one yet (although I'm hoping to go pretty soon) but some of the things here are similar to things that don't exist anymore at Sherwood, like the little pool to the left-hand side of the big wave pool. That used to be one of my favourite pools at Sherwood, but they got rid of it in about 2005.

@@ajs41 yes I loved that pool too! They ripped it out to put the grand cascade landing pool in! (And Starbucks) 😂

Looks like you went with high water, sometimes the water is also lower and imo i like low water more.

I live in the city next to it just over the German border. I almost drowned as kid, my brother rescued me last minute by grapping my hair.
I also hit my head at the 1.5 m fall at 1:34 and had a super huge bruise.
Also 1:45 looks tame but if someone follows you you hit the wall on the left at full force, sometimes head first. You just throw your arms over your head at sone points and hope for mercy 😂
But I thought that that was because I was a kid... I am now a silver rescue swimmer (swimming ability so good you can dive for 20 meters and rescue someone from a lake or pool) and my fiance also is a good swimmer and 1.9 meters tall, we were in our late twenties when we went there again. We also almost drowned and I could not control the fall at all and almost broke my hip 😂
I love this wild water rapid and we go there annually with our peer group. The bruises and cuts are trophies. Also, you can regularly google and read in the local press how many accidents there are that required ambulances or even a helicoper.
We are still surprised every time that it is still allowed to run, but I would not trade it for anything lame. This, my friends, is the real advanture with a touch of insane danger.

2:00 people always say you need to jump at this spot or you wil drown but thats not true its not even allowed.

as a kid, who was quite light and not a real good swimmer yet, my dad always told me to slide as far away into the water as possible cause the current could pull me under .. sure adults are safe but a light small weak kid.. idk. he still came along every time to make sure I was fine. Used to go there every year from 2005-2018
