Super cool! I'm a robotics teacher in Austin, TX. Just started a video series called Middle School Robotics. Will likely be posting some videos similar to this in the upcoming weeks :)
I would make the motors always have a loop of moving back and forth a fraction of a degree so that they are always powered and cannot be moved by anything external. Using gears for extra power might also be a good idea.
Hey Joe! Iam a Robotics teacher in Malaysia. Do all the sensor works on the robots? Can I Know the program that you put on the robot? Cheers. P.s Want to this on my class Cheers =D
Hi! We are doing the same thing at my school except we are using the old NXT Mindstorms. Can you maybe help teach me how to code the sensors? Thanks! Great vid btw!
You can use the EV3-G software to program the NXT bricks, and the educational version contains several lessons on basic sensor programming. See also EV3lessons.com, or Builderdude35 on UA-cam.
6:58 "Did we learn anything?" "No 100 degree turns" I think 100 degree turns are fine. It's 180 degree turns that are the problem here. No I understand that the programming software has turns set to a 100 scale but come on. Funny slip up there.
I have done this before but we could add weapons we didn’t break any bots but one kids main weapon/tool was ripped off by another robot (mine) and a few people had mental breakdowns because they lost challenges
Hi! This is Shiela from the Philippines. May I ask to use this video for our program's episode? We will use it as support material. Rest assured we will give proper credits once permitted. Hope to hear from you. Thank you very much!
Can anybody tell me how can ev3 detect randomly placed object in an arena and how ev3 will distinguish between fence and object? Beacon control is not allowed.
Hamza Saleem use a color sensor to detect the color of the fence, and make the car turn around and move to the middle. then spin until the ultrasonic sensor detects something, then move to it.
Hamza Saleem The supersonic sensor will sense any object in front of it. The only way I can think of distinguishing things is if they have different colors you can use a color sensor to distinguish different objects.
Pleech Plays Games thank you so much for your response. I have tried this strategy but it takes lots of time to approach to an actual object. the robot always stucks at fence/wall.
Technic Master I did this in 6th grade, it was like an after school thing, and then we would compete with other schools, it's actually pretty simple, the robots have a color sensor so it knows when it crosses the black line, and they have an area sensor, so it will spin around until it sees something
Those wires sticking out bug me, if one of the robots just had something sticking out the side they could easily yank out the wires and render the robot immobile.
Being part of Robocup Netherlands I really REALLY love seeing this, great way to teach these kids the basics on a fun way.
This bring back so many memories. My school did something similar and I had so much fun with it
1:35 - the most epic battle)

Hi BB
I was working on a project where we had to build a Lego robot and your video gave me so much inspiration. Thank you so much!
Epic video guys my boys loved watching it!
Ha for a second I thought you said your *bots* loved watching it. ;-)
FUS, ROH DAH!!!!! You're probably the best teacher ever..!!
Stargazer was pretty cool but my favourite was 'The Wall' 😄
+Munkychunky6 Thanks!

Me gusto mucho 😀, especialmente el de 4 robots 👍🏻✨
First time I'm actually sorry for being born in the 90'... This look so educational and fun!
This is quality education here man. So jealous
That was amazing!
Cool vid, gave me some ideas of what to add on my nxt robot for my school robot sumo tournament.
The best teacher I ever seen in my life +1 :)
But T-rex was blind. He had luck. MashAllah.
The way these bots are programmed hurts
FLL like:
Am i a joke to you?
КРУТО!!! так держать ! =)
a cool fight! watching in 2020. and you?

what is the name of this microcontroller , i know that was before inventing arduino
WOW WE HAVE 7 BOX Lego EV3 Robot IN MY SCHOOL AND WE participated IN SUMO Competition IN OUR country

you really help me I will built robot like those
Its not easy. You must to make a good program for robot
Van Tran ITS not that hard
@@VanTran-lh7gx it's easy
Why the delay?

A MAN IS PEEPING IN THE MATCH OF SILF DOZER AND SILF DESTROYER😂😂😂
I had a competition like this and I won first place!
I loose 3 ultrasonic sensor when the robots crash.
can I have the code for the robots please to help me with my school assignment
B-Dog: *confused Pikachu*
can anyone tell me how they programmed the round 2? it's defense seemed quite good, and i'm also programming these robots. ;)
nice
We did this one time and the other group said they will destroy ours. we built ours with a huge hook arm and it destroyed the other robot
Nice!
Used to do this in a school program
What is the construction à slifdozer? ?
Wish my school did such a thing haha
3,2,1go! [ the roomba CLEAN botoum is pressd]
I remember doing this in the Niherst science center in my country,I should go again summer.
I might do something like this myseld at home :)
this is good.
15:35 epic battle
I made one in class. It didn't push though. It hit with a hammer
I have done this before but we could add weapons we didn’t break any bots but one kids main weapon/tool was ripped off by another robot (mine) and a few people had mental breakdowns because they lost challenges
B dog was the man 😔
these builds seem somewhat lackluster, but still entertaining
I actually am doing this in my school
Same
We did this in my class and me and my groups bot destroyed everyone else, also fyi, move back from the table so it won't sense other people

You are allowed to use it
You can show anything from UA-cam without needing to ask for permission
My bot the ultimate picatchu is awsume
just build a 4 wheeler and make a box around it. that would be OP
Daniel if you do that how would it roate?
@@spekledyt8863 same thing, just make one side go one way and another the opposite way
Todos parecen carros, pero me gusta sus diseños.
What are the rules you established for your contest?
Robots had to be smaller than 7" square, under 1000 grams, up to 3 motors, and had to use a color sensor.
@@joeslifka how do you decide what position to start in?

Thechnic master it a compettition its called sumobot
My 4 year old declared this "the best movie ever."
wow . amazing !
What do you teach?
+jeremy rocker Technology
you need some milk
You too
Those wires sticking out bug me, if one of the robots just had something sticking out the side they could easily yank out the wires and render the robot immobile.
That requires far more precision that an autonomous bot simply cannot do
These robots aren’t capable of ripping out wires, and the wires can’t be anywhere else with these robots

can you teach me programming code?
Waaa
I wish I had this teacher

I wish I had these students.
