Historical wordsmith is my Dad, brings history to life with enthusiasm, bringing the past to the present, back to the future! Respect 'n Love all day long Fatha, your Son Shaun 🙏✌ x x
Your father groans very eloquently for sheer nostalgia for things long gone and buildings demolished and trees uprooted and people gone! O! that people would be as proud as he is in Colne and what it stands for. They say people make a place, his stature is of a thousand, marble columns of wisdom! I was disappointed when this chapter had to end! May he endure in good health!
Fantastic tour of Colne. What a character. I had no idea of all that history. I lived there as a kid in the mid 1960s. I don't recall the name of the street I lived on, somewhere behind the large ex-bank at the top of the hill. there was a little cabin, a newsagent I think at the bottom of the street. I think I got my love of mountain climbing from that experience!
Awww I was really impressed with this video and what a very interesting man Geoff is, what a fantastic storyteller. I am very familiar with Colne but I've learnt an awful lot I wasn't aware of, watching this. Really enjoyed it!
Brilliant. Watched from my home in Lanzarote, although I am a Colner. Just trying to locate Black Horse Yard. Is that through Ivegate? Can't just work it out.

I used to give cider Ronnie a free kebab with chilli sauce most nights . He called it a Jam butty.
Is there a place close (thinks NW) by called Barnside?
I worked for Fred Smith. He wanted me to be a Jockey.
