Very good explanation, but I still have doubt about calculate the values to r c . Can I use too in open contacts ok? How about a big current, like around 40A?

used a snubber to eliminate noise introduced by the inductive current of a high amp relay. Coil needs to relieve the voltage after connection is disconnected.
