lexus ux in your video is not top specs, you can get 360 view, powered tail gate, larger infotainment screen, mark levinson stero, sun roof, heads up display, AWD, etc. So its not really a fair comparison. And the biggest difference, lexus is an hybrid which do cost more as it comes with a battery.

the Lexus UX250H is a hatchback that seems a bit raised up, to replace the old Lexus CT200h. It seems to have the same interior space and boot volume as it's older sibling. The Lexus UX250h is not a mild hybrid, but a hybrid or as they like to call it a "full hybrid"
If the UX is a replacement for the CT then I can understand the idea. However the execution of that concept definitely FAILED in my eyes. This thing is atrocious and honestly doesn’t do the whole “replacing the CT” much justice, the CT actually looked good and was clearly understood as a premium Prius. The UX looks like a prank Toyota is playing on folks that ever buy this thing.
I had the hardest time breaking into a UX250h while operating a tow truck. Owner called us. Took me 30 real minutes. Thick upper door frame that is inset into the roof line like a safe. Quite impressive.

Only lease a BMW and once the warranty expires you are on your own. It is true for less expensice cars. Purchase a brand new 328i and junked it last year as it was screaming BMW (Bring my wallet).

I use to own a 3 series BMW it was a money pit!! I now on the UX Lexus and I love it. BMW is great for leasing and under warranty but not for buying and keeping long term. I like the sporty look but the Lexus is reliable and a hybrid is great for fuel savings. The UX is a crossover it’s not a hatchback 😂!
I drove the UX Hybrid as well as a BMWX2 for a day. I cant confirm your statement about the UX to have more wind or roadnoise. Roadnoise was in my case from runflat tires which you should change . Other tahn that the Lexus drives more quiet than the BMW . And it handles better as well due to its lower center of gravity.
Before I had my X3M I had an X3 M40i and before I had that, I had a 2018 X1. The X1 is a great little premium compact crossover. Reliable, more power, more cargo space and better fuel economy than the Q3 and GLA, which is why I chose it over it's competition in the first place. It's better looking too. I see that the new X1's interior is also MILES ahead of the 2018 interior. Also, free BMW Ultimate Care, FTW!

@@mspeed2441 Yeah definitely! I actually went from a R56 Cooper S to that X1. I felt like the seatback was too small and I couldn't get my back to sit flat into the back of the seat. I have a 23 X3M non-comp in MBB over Tartufo on order. Mainly didn't go for the comp because it's my DD and I didn't want the 21"s. Lots of train tracks and potholes on my daily commute. I had 21"s on a 2021 SQ5 and it was sidewall-bubble-city all the time. 🤣. My wife drives a 22 GLC43 and we got the 20"s for that as well.
@@mspeed2441 I think either car is fine as a daily. Yes, I believe the X3 is due for a next-gen update for either 2024 or 2025. Personally, I don't think I like where BMW is headed, design-wise. I also don't like the new full-screen gauge cluster/infotainment, no gear selector knob setup. I assume that's the iDrive8 setup. The 2023 M3 also has this(the M cars still have a gear selector though). The X line of suv's all seem to get the new layouts a year after the sedans. So this is why I decided to order my X3M for 2023 instead of waiting. Nice thing about leases is that your not committed to the car. My wife and I are serial-leasers with our leases staggered by a year-and-a-half, so every 18 months or so, we get a new 2nd car and have the opportunity for direct comparisons. We get to see what we like and don't like. We've had a X1, Macan S, 718 Cayman S, SQ5 and currently the GLC43 and M40i(soon to be X3M). Just my opinion, but I don't think there's any point in "chasing the new" and FOMO for the new stuff in the next gen car. There's always going to be new stuff. If that matters to you then your only option is to lease forever. My wife's 22 GLC43, she decided to purchase because she felt it's the best car so far. I plan to purchase my X3M also, as I may not like the refresh.

We've had 25 new BMWs since 2010. Barely ever a functional real warranty claim. Maybe just like my nephew would break the cup holder button. But never a tow, flashing check engine, dead battery, anything. But they've all been new. Maybe that's not fair, but our new Jeep GCL and my sisters' new Palisade and Sorrento go to the shop regularly. Older BMWs? When I had those in college, the previous owners and I, alike, would drive the piss out of them...wear and tear no Toyota or low hp ca would ever incur. So they had wear issues. Cooling, brakes, shafts, bushing, carrier bearing. But, could only afford 10,000 mile cars back then. More recently, though, I drove the crap out of my new M3s, M2s, X3MC, and they never skipped a beat. But they're new.

I'm biased because I have already made up my mind and ordered the BMW X1. :) Having said that, I learned one very important thing about Canada from this video. Look at both vehicles starting around 2:40 into the video. Canada is COLD!!! Both of them have lots of icicles under the front bumper/fender area! WOW! 😍 Don't get me wrong. I love Canada. In fact, I think Canada is better than the US(my own country) in many ways. :)

It was also a little shocking to me when I test drove the X1. It was quieter than the Lexus NX that I was considering, even at 70mph speeds.
241hp is fast enough for at least 90% of the X1 drivers in US/Canada... :) Obviously, it will be more fun with 59 more horsepowers, but I don't want to wait that long... (at least another year, according to my BMW CA)

Wait what? Did you know the UX is NOT electric, it is a hybrid. Did you also know the X1 comes in fully electric as well. Also Gasoline cars are far better commuter cars than Electric cars. For strolling the city EVs are great, but for actual driving, not so much.
BMW has a personality, most of the cars not, even Lexus. In terms of exterior look, BMW looks much better to me, but in a way of reliability and a second hand market Lexus wins in general.

The Lexus front grille is so ugly and dated. Some newer BMWs with huge "kidney grille" are disgusting too, but this X1's grille size is acceptable.

Wait what? Did you know the UX is NOT electric, it is a hybrid. Did you also know the X1 comes in fully electric as well.
Also Gasoline cars are far better commuter cars than Electric cars. For strolling the city EVs are great, but for actual driving, not so much.
BMW has a personality, most of the cars not, even Lexus. In terms of exterior look, BMW looks much better to me, but in a way of reliability and a second hand market Lexus wins in general.
The x1 comes out on top because it’s actually competitive unlike the UX which SUX. Like it’s not good at all
